This ways always one of my favorite movies growing up as a kid, even though the first Brave Little Toaster movie is the best. It made my day when I researching DeForest Kelley that I learned that he was in this movie. He had to most charming voice, RIP De.
Yeah and that movie with the fictional Voyager probe makes this even better, even if not everyone was fond of that picture. I wasn't so serious about and saw it as a kid so for me it's always a kids movie for me, like this one :)
Imagine this- instead of a Christmas tree ornament, that 'smart-alecky kid at NASA' puts in an action figure of a certain pointy-eared Vulcan science officer
"No, Viking 1 the bagel. Of course the satellite!" Also, okay, Christmas tree angel on Mars, sure. Wait until you meet the Lego minifigures they've sent to Jupiter.
It's moments like these where I realize Karl Urban makes a perfect Bones. I mean, he sounds just like Deforest! I agree with those of you that said he [Deforest] should've done more voice acting. His voice was amazing and perfect for this kind of stuff.
Well, technically they won't be there for eternity. Once humanity reaches Mars, if they're still there, they will be recovered and likely put in a museum. Either that or the sun will blow up first.
All films are based of off a book called “the brave little toaster”. Jerry Rees did the first film and made it a movie. Disney didn’t have anything to do with the first movie, but then they started getting involved with Mars and Rescue. Disney did although make CD copies of the original in 2003 and aired it on Disney channel back then. Disney made the rescue as a fill in because there is no rescue book. The mars and rescue were probably both being made around the same time, or it was released at a different date for some reason. Disney owns the rights to the Rescue and Mars hence they are on Disney+. The ones who did the original, Hyperion Studios, is now inactive and has been for over a decade. It’s hard to tell who owns the rights now. Hyperion actually wanted to make a CGI remake, which was actually displayed on their website over a decade ago, but we never received it before they went inactive.
@@walterberg4893 How is that worse than floating alone for all eternity? Seems to be the easy way out. No doubt Galileo knew it was better than loneliness.
'Damn it Jim. I'm a doctor, not a space probe.'
First thing that came to mind upon learning it's Kelley voicing Viking 1

He died less than a year after this :'(
He and Viking 2 have been there since 1976. This was perfect for Deforrest since involved with star trek.

That green-blooded son of a bitch. It's his revenge for all the arguments he lost.
What if I was that kid? What would I bring? I'd probably put in an atlas or some toy I have.

I'm dead, Jim ;~;
i wish we got more of these guys in the movie
"NO, Viking 1 the bagel!"
This was also the last film DeForest Kelley stared in which was a year before he died
So he basically plays V'Ger in this movie.
this is the reality where deckard went home and mccoy merged with vger
R.I.P DeForest Kelley
I can not blame him for being a little angry. And for some body to put that christmas doll in him. Some boy at nasa got a WARPED sense of humor!
Why the hell didn't he do MORE voice acting?! He'd have absolutely FANTASTIC !! Dammit, De!
Wow, you wouldn't even have realized he was so sick just by the sound of his voice. Nobody does pissed off better! Yea!!!
RIP DeForest Kelley (1/20/1920 - 6/11/1999). "I'm a doctor not a probe".
This is so wonderful.
Dammit Jim I'm a doctor. Not a floating sattalite.
I had no idea this was DeForest Kelley when I saw this movie for the first time.
This could’ve been DeForest Kelly’s last film! This was released in 1998 and his death was in 1999.
It's moments like these where I realize Karl Urban makes a perfect Bones. I mean, he sounds just like Deforest! I agree with those of you that said he [Deforest] should've done more voice acting. His voice was amazing and perfect for this kind of stuff.

It's so sad that he didn't have the chance to speak himself in the Futurama Star Trek episode 4 years later
Not only did Kelley die but Thrul Ravenscroft the voice of Kirby the vacuum died later on too two great voice actors
RIP mr.Kelley 🪦 he was a legend
0:21 "...on the original Starship Enterprise."
ahh Deforest i miss you
I wonder what Sojourner, Spirit, Opportunity, Phoenix, Insight, Curiosity, Perseverance and Ingenuity would sound like if they could talk?
Is that Wayne Knight voicing the microwave?
Hits differently after watching Good Night Oppy.
His final role 😢
Dang it, Jim, I'm a spaceship not a ....
Bones became V-Ger!!!
0:05 He’s famous!
Dr. McCoy?
Thats Lil from Rugrats.
Right?
Mathew Godfrey yep
Did DeForest Kelley have any more lines in the movie? This was his last role.
They went to mars before elon musk
Why is did this come out in 98 when To the Rescue came out in 99 when it’s suppose to be the second movie?

😄 They didn’t get to see the cell phone age
That's satellite is one of a kind that's kind of sad good satellite wasted
But... but he's NOT a satellite...
Lampy sounds weird in this movie...
1:48 Hello Newman...
The fat guy from Jurassic Park
8 years too late, but I was waiting for this comment
Mars 3 is the bad guy in the movie
AKA space communist
XD
So weird.
He thinks he's got it bad, just imagine the Voyager spacecrafts. They probably went mad from loneliness long ago.
They don’t have it as bad as the Galileo probe, which was plunged into Jupiter’s atmosphere and died
@@walterberg4893 How is that worse than floating alone for all eternity? Seems to be the easy way out. No doubt Galileo knew it was better than loneliness.
The Voyagers are still talking with NASA on a regular basis, though I guess you could say they are slowly dying.
@@gobblox38 What about the poineer 10 and 11.Before voyagers.Talk about being sent on a one way ticket.
Well yeah, one got so bored it became V'ger and came back to terrorize earth in The Motion Picture!
his last voice acting before his death.
Live Long and Prosper, DeForest Kelley, Live Long and Prosper
🖖
Two years before I was born...
what a man.
The satellite? No Viking 1 the bagel. Of course the satellite!
damn it, Kirby! i'm a satellite, not a household appliance!
"Satellite."
LANDER.
*Bagel
IKR. Confused the hell out of me as an 8-year-old.
Deforest Kelley always knew how to sound and act cranky and annoyed
Considering he had practice as Dr. McCoy, I’m not surprised.
This was the first thing I saw with DeForest Kelly in. Even as an animated satellite, he made an impression on me.
That ornament annoys him even more than a certain pointy eared Vulcan :P
ha ha ha thats good :D Somone needs to mash this with start trek that would be awesome!
if only deforest kelly wasn't dead. in fact, this was his last appearence in any film
"He's famous!"
yep
This film is only worth watching for De. He's so lovable dammit.
I wonder how every nasa spacecraft is doing
Dang it, Jim, I'm a spaceship not a ....
1:01 that beautiful/pretty top of the Christmas tree ornament voice sound like Kath Soucie.?
Yep!
it IS her
I LOVE THIS RUclips VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!
This movie sounds like a fanfiction
it really kinda was. but the cameo by Dr. Mccoy makes it worth while.
DAMN IN VACCUM. I'M A SATELLITE NOT A BAGEL.
Hey it’s Doctor Bones McCoy 😃
To be fair it’s actually a lander
No Viking 1 the bagel!
OF Course The Satellite
Who else here is a space nerd
Odd film. And Viking 1 was no satellite. (Neither was Viking 2.) But Dee Kelley could do no wrong.
Viking one didn't crash
