Loved to watch that! I already have some years of experience as a PM, and it still great to see you working, your challenges, how you organize your day, make room out of double booked meetings. Thanks for sharing, Alex!
Great energy and story telling! Any plans to work on the audio in the kitchen? It was a little distracting to me. Editing was great too. We need more folks like you in tech, so keep it up and keep sharing!
Ahh thank you for the feedback! I do have plans to buy a mic, but didn’t before this video. The mic on my phone was super far away from where I was standing, so definitely impacted the quality. For this video, was definitely in a mode of creating > perfection.
@@AlexKlufas You made the right decision. Keep it up, you're on a great trajectory! I've heard great things about the Rode VideoMic Me-C, but there are a lot of options out there for all types of phones.
Just subscribed! I’m making it my goal to become a Product Manager in tech by October. I would love to connect with you for a quick coffee chat because my direct goal is to become a PM at IBM! I’m so interested in their Watsonx platform and I want to ultimately become an AI PM. With such a busy schedule 😊, would you be open to chatting with me so I can ask you a few questions please?
Hey Alex! I was wondering if a Product Manager is in the career progression of a UX/UI Designer? Is it a position you do after you do a few years in UX/UI? I am new to the industry and just enrolled in UX/UI Bootcamp. I have been watching lots of videos to learn and noticed that Product Manager was also popping up in my algorithm. Thanks so much for your help! Looking forward to watching through your channel 😁
Hello! Going from Design > PM is definitely a very common career progression to get into product management. I've mainly seen people go UX/UI -> PM instead of the other way around.
Just subbed to your channel!❤ I'm a software engineering student looking to become a PM someday and your content has been very helpful. Quick question, I'm currently getting my diploma in Software Engineering and am thinking of getting a Bsc in Business Information Systems. Is that a good combination for product management or should i just get my BsC in IT? Which looks better for potential employers?
Hi Welcome! If you can swing both, (ie double major) I would definitely recommend getting software engineering (SWE) as well. A lot of PMs take the SWE>PM route and I think you’ll have a wider range of opportunities when you graduate. Most importantly, w SWE, you can show case your ability to build products. Then in cover letters/interviewing/networking, you can talk about how you came up with the idea + improvements you would make!
@@AlexKlufas Thank you very much! I don't know if I'll be able to double major, but I definitely will consider it. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what is a better career between IT Project Management and Business Analysis that could allow a person more easily get into a Product Management role? Which one has higher prospects with potential employers? Thank you🙏
@@abigailokoiobuli8945 I think BA would be more applicable to a wide set of PM role. With BA, you'd probably suited for most PM jobs. With IT Project Management, my concern would be that you would get shoehorned into IT roles (and prospective employers thinking you have the wrong industry experience).
Thanks for the great content
Thanks for watching!
Thank you! I was interested in this career and it's nice to know what you're actually doing during the day that's related to your job
Before I became a PM, it was so hard to wrap my head around what they actually did. Glad you found this video helpful!

Thank you!! I personally love seeing people’s day-to-day schedules, so I thought it would be a good resource out there!
Very crisp and clear !
Thank you!!
Thank you for taking us through your calendar/task management part of your PM Job. I have learnt something about time-blocking
Love it! Very practical!
Thank you!

@@AlexKlufas thanks so much! Do you know how long people usually stay in UX/UI before moving to Product Management?
