SumSum - Learn your product by using it ie become your customer - Set up 1-1 meetings with your teammates - Start to familiarize yourself with company and product strategy - Talk to your customers - Shadow a fellow PM
Oh my this is my exact fear as I think about transitioning from being a PM in a small startup to a corporate startup! The transition from knowing how everything works to not knowing at all and feeling absolutely useless
Going from a bootstrapped B2C FinTech startup into a large bank B2B role has been very daunting. I basically blind interviewed and had my first look at the product on day 1. Everything you said in the opening was spot on! I went from knowing everything about the product and users, to being blind. Overwhelmed and frustrated to start. Your tips are great and I’ve spent every day researching everything I can. Hopefully days 30-60 are more comfortable!
Thank you for all your videos! I just landed a new job and this was helpful. Your other videos on PM interviews were super helpful as well. Looking forward to future content! :)
I’m starting at a new company in a few weeks and I have been racking my head on how to get up to speed on all things about the product and team. Thanks for sharing this!
I’m starting a new role as an associate PM at a big pharmatech company. This is my first PM role so this video couldn’t have come at a better time! Thank you for the tips! 🙏🏽🚀
How do you recommend shadowing someone when the job is remote? Would attending exclusively the meetings they attend be enough, or should I stay on top of their day-to-day tasks somehow?
I love your videos Alisa. What do you think about the most important "north star metric" the company is revenue? I think is revenue is a consequence to be a good work, listen to customers, fix the problems, work hard with dev team, make a good discoveries etc. In my company is more difficult, because every thing is necessary for CEO, without understand data or business impact.
Great pointers for getting started. How do we set the Agenda's for the 1-1's with different stakeholders to ensure maximum grasping in our very first month ? Also, thanks for bringing up this content :)
Very informative video. Keep it up Alisa. My question is, how do you get up to the pace when you are joining new and working remotely (also working in different time zones)?
I am in third year computer science engineering student. In my first two years of engineering I have done web development. Now I want to learn and go into product development, can you please share how should I proceed, what things I need to learn first, from where, any free resources, how to get PM role experience as student, can you please guide me? I am not aware about how to proceed further, what what steps I need to follow also I am from India and I am also interested to pursue Master's Degree in abroad? Can you please help me in going into product management?
Hey Alisa thanks so much! I’m a new PM coming from a support role within the same company. What is one advice you would provide for someone coming from support?
Thank you for the question! If you are in support at a tech company, I would meet with PM's at your company to learn more about the role! Maybe you can even find a mentor. Good luck!!

Also, thanks for bringing up this content :)
Yes, also wondering on this! What did you actually talk with all the stakeholders that you met considering you are still figuring out stuff?
Hi Alisa, in the one-on-one's, what do you typically discuss and what questions to you ask to gain clarity on what each team has been working on?
Very informative video. Keep it up Alisa.
