    I felt the cellophane was fragile, thank you for confirming this for me, I make fabric wings they last a long time, not as delicate, but are just as beautiful...

  • @Yamatashe
    @Yamatashe 6 лет назад +6

    You can put clear masking tape on them :) it will blend into the wings and make them not so fragile!

    • @TheMagicCrafter

      I considered it! But I contacted Angela and ordered a repair kit from her. They are as good as new now! ♥

  • @little_isalina
    @little_isalina 6 лет назад +17

    It's so sad that they're already torn, but they look beautiful. Makes me think that picture i made a while ago of a pixie mermaid loosely based on your mermaid tail colors (just with some added green) was a little prophetic.
    Maybe you should try wearing the wings with the tail just to see how they go together. Although i'm sure that would be the single most unpractical outfit ever ^^

    • @TheMagicCrafter
      @TheMagicCrafter  6 лет назад +2

      I was so disappointed when I broke them. But you're right... they are still gorgeous and I do have a repair kit on the way, so they will soon be whole again! 😊
      Is that the photo you showed me a while back? You must have known something that I didn't... 🤔😁
      The thought has crossed my mind, but then that second thought crosses my mind too! I would be a immobile frozen fairyfish! 😂😭

    • @little_isalina
      @little_isalina 6 лет назад +3

      It was a drawing/painting that io made and i did show it to you.
      Ah but it would be so cute! Maybe just for a dry photoshoot or something.

  • @valkyriesardo278
    @valkyriesardo278 5 лет назад +3

    I am certain those wings can be repaired. You did not damage the frame, merely the transparent covering. Contact the vendor. You could send her photos. She might repair them herself or send you patches of the exact same material. I think patching could be easily disguised since the framework is solid black. I loved your large cloak and gloves and how your eye makeup makes your eyes look enormous and beautiful. You make a good fairy. Meanwhile you could make yourself some "training" wings out of junk, just to get used to moving around with a wing span on your back.

    • @TheMagicCrafter
      @TheMagicCrafter  5 лет назад

      Oh! Yes!! No worries! ♥ Angela sent me some instructions on how to fix them and they are perfect now! Also, thank you for all of the kind words, by the way!!

    I almost cried watching the review. I have looked into making the cellophane wings myself but I was wondering I’m how delicate they would be. I am defiantly going to attempt the heavy duty vinyl ones now. I will make the cellophane ones eventually but covid has made the iridescent cello harder to find.

      Hi Sarah!
      My cloak is from www.PunkRave.ch I don't think they sell that cloak anymore, unfortunately, but they have TONS of other cute products! Honestly, they've made winter a lot more fun because of their beautiful winter coats and cloaks. ♥ The new "Glacial Castle Coat" is killing me with its beauty... but I'm too short to wear it! 😂
      Anyways... if you check back with PunkRave regularly, I'm sure they'll have something similar in stock again. Or, you may find something you like even better. ♥ If so, feel free to use my discount code "PHANTOM" at checkout to get a discount exclusive to my subscribers. 😇
      I hope you can find something you like! Thank you for watching, Sarah!

    The cold most likely contributed to the tears. Believe it or not our winters get colder here on the Mid-Atlantic than they did when I lived in Denver and I have noticed a fragility to certain cosplay items here that I didn't have issue with in Denver.

  • @whatsthatticking
    @whatsthatticking 6 лет назад +3

    Oh nooo! They are still fantastic wings, but I'm also a clumsy person and would destroy them in no time. Perhaps they can be delicately repaired? Or modified into scrappy evil punk fairy wings?

    • @TheMagicCrafter
      @TheMagicCrafter  6 лет назад

      They are still very pretty... you're right! 😄I do have a "repair kit" on the way, but I will not lie... I did think about trying to "creatively fix them." I've thought of reinforcing them with resin too, however, I've never dealt with resin before and have much research left to do on that 😅
      If you're clumsy too, I'd recommend starting with fabric wings or something much cheaper from the get-go until you're more "fairy trained." That way you don't end up in the same spot I'm in. 😩

    • @fancyfairyangela
      @fancyfairyangela 6 лет назад

      I was just going to ask the same thing! Granted that aqua film is a little thinner than the others, but that kind of bump shouldn't rip it so easily so I do wonder if the cold made them more brittle. The vinyl is a heat set vinyl after all, so it's possible. I may do a test on a defective set here to see if I can replicate the ripping from that short a distance.

  • @pastel_anarchy5631

    You where over charged by A lot. You can easily make that same pair for 20$ on your own.

    • @TheMagicCrafter
      @TheMagicCrafter  6 лет назад +5

      You are absolutely right! I could certainly learn to make my own, but I don't have the time to experiment with designs nor the space to do the work. I chose to support a fellow (and experienced) artist by purchasing her work and received a *great* product in return. When you think about it, I actually was *not* buying an overpriced product.
      Here's what I paid for:
      -Materials (Cut Aluminum Sheets, Cellophane, Vinyl, Electrical tape, ect.)
      -The hours of work it took to actually create *my* wings
      -Hours upon hours of the work that it took for the maker to design her wings & other products on paper
      -Years of experimentation to find the tools, techniques, materials, ect. that work best for the wing-making process
      -The cost of running a website in order to market & sell the wings
      -The hours it took to build/ design said website
      -The years it took to build her brand & reputation into what it is today (Victoria's Secret was a past client of hers)
      -The Internet Fees the creator was likely charged in order to access the internet so that she can advertise her products & sell them
      -Years of experience in the Wing Making Industry
      -The fact that artists need to pay bills too
      -Probably more.
      So... no. I did not buy something that was overpriced at all. If anything, I got these wings for a steal. The price of these wings may seem expensive, but when you look at all that went into the entire creation process, the price makes sense.
      I hope I didn't come across as rude, or too "matter-of-fact" like, but as a creator myself, I know firsthand what it takes to do business. Artists have to survive. That requires money. And because this artist's work saves me time, frustration *and* gives me exactly what I want, I see no problem with paying the price. Sorry... I am very passionate about this topic! 😅
      Anyways, thank you for watching. I really do appreciate your input, although I do hope you'll understand why the product costs as much as it does, and how that *is* okay, even if it could easily be made for less.
      Cheers to you! I hope your wings turn out beautifully! ♥
      XOXO~ Mermaid Phantom

    I know this video is old but Omg wow! Girl you are so cute how you are defending the artist and tbh it’s totally relatable (I’ve done it plenty of times) but girl that is unacceptable that they tore the same day you got them just from dropping them! I wouldn’t have bought from this artist anyway after seeing her lovely political posts on her business page and after she told her fans who disagree (me) can F off, but after seeing that your wings broke the same day you got them is even more reason not to shop with her. And they were $239 yikessssssss. You might as well just photo shop some wings on your back in pictures since they aren’t even durable enough to wear to one photo shoot. Sorry for the more negative comment. But don’t be afraid to give honest reviews even if it’s more negative 😊

    • @TheMagicCrafter
      @TheMagicCrafter  3 года назад +1

      Ahhh!! I really do think it was most likely due to the combination of me being clumsy and the wings being cold (and probably more brittle). I actually know of a dog that has wings from her, and it hasn't managed to break a pair yet (I messaged its owner) I'm a clumsy oaf! XD
      Truth be told, I would never buy from her again. Her wings are pretty, but her political pushiness? No thanks! I actually unfollowed her a loooong time ago because of how forceful she was with her views and how hateful she was of those with different views.
      I suggest going with Hello Faerie instead. Fern is super nice and her wings are much more durable! :)
