"Poor" spitfire! From the first second I saw it, I was fearing for a high speed landing.
Beautiful! I remember seeing WWII warbirds landing on Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, NY many years ago for a special occasion (Memorial Day, I think). Now I don’t think they’re able to do that anymore. Sad. It was a sight to see (and the sounds were awesome as well). Thanks for sharing! 👍🏼
Nice to watch thanks for posting. All those bumps in the grass make a plane bounce on landing. Plus it looked a little like a down hill runway, if so those can be a pain. Add in the hilly terrain plus trees forcing a steep approach and you have all you need for really difficult landings in a warbird.
Typical grass runway, sloped, bumpy, and trees or other distractions close to the edges. The pilot of the P-40N did a great job of making the airplane do exactly what he wanted it to do.
Tolles Video und super schöne Flugzeuge
Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing, right?
Thanks you for sharing this! Nice job, it made my morning coffee taste better lol.
Sehr schönes Video!
The tricycles are like no problem.

Wouah magnifique ! Merci d'exister! Le bonjour d'Alsace
Notice how the P-40 quickly retracted flaps for a no bounce landing. Thats how ya do it.then when you have to hold the tail down for aerodynamic breaking you won't get airborne again and bounce. Though P-40's like wheel landings instead of 3 pointers. Also come in just a tad slower like that last mustang but maybe those pilots hadn't landed there before. Places that have lots of hills before the runway can give off up & down drafts that make landing just a bit tricky.
Some of them appear to be going extremely fast on final (I don't know if theres a different term for military landings)
Great compilation of Landings..Must be difficult landing on Grass..
RC planes are awesome !!!
That Trike undercarriage does it consistently best of all, solid, smooth landing every time, even though it looks most uncomfortable in the approach.

This is why veterans were made to do 3 point landing that also helped avoid nose overs in the field. Though that strip looks really crappy.
Those were some bouncy/hard landings
