This is definitely something I need. Looks like a real timesaver!
My goodness! What an amazing project. Splendid indeed. You are very talented.
Pero qué CHULADA DE TORNO te has fabricado amigo!

The best channel and the best diy lathe
Thank you 😎👍
The small benchtop Wen lathe is doing ruclips.net/user/postUgkxKGVtPhqZBB5AQXXFlU2kdd4mQhO6wlhl just what it was desighed to do, turn small pieces. This product is workig very well in wood and plastics, I wouldn't recommend any metal turning on it though. Overall from an old tool guy, I highly recommend this lathe as long as you realize that this is for small turning only. I bought this a few weeks ago and have noticed the price has gone from $174. to $249. Might want to get one sooner than later.
I will make one like this!!! It was so beautiful... Thanks...
👍🙂
well done
everything ingenious is simple
Fantastic Video. I am going to make this lathe very soon. I have the Miele motor and your same speed controller. I just need to know hoe to hook up the motor to the controller. Do you any videos or schematics on the wiring between the motor and the schematic? I would really appreciate it. Again great video and it looks beautiful!! Keep up the great work
Very well done..
🪵🪚👍🙂
Great work, it's a work of art 🙂😉👌
Thx😉👍
Parabéns, muito capricho...SHOW
Excellent work! I thought you were gonna make small knobs for moving axel first :)
Thank you👍 Maybe latter, need to get lathe chisels first😉
👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌very good
Super!!!!!!!!!
Super
Veré good work
Thank you👍🙂
chique mesmo esse torno
Nice👌
I built a wood lathe using a washing machine motor, mine does not look anywhere near as good!
A couple of problems I have found since then, a washing machine motor is not really strong enough for bowels, I can stop mine easily with a gouge. and the threaded bar (allthread) is too soft, the bearings wear it out really quickly, I've changed mine 3 or 4 times already. but I haven't found an easy replacement.
That said it does work really well
i really like your solution for the sliding tail stock and the live centre on it , I'll be copying those ideas, thanks.
Excellent work!
Did you use speed controller?
yes, the lathe was originally powered by a bench grinder using different size wheels to change the speed, the washing machine motor and speed controller work much better. I also used the original large pulley from the washing machine for more torque.
the motor I have wont turn backwards unless you swap the brushes, I was thinking of adding a dc power source to to the dc windings to do this.
BRAVO
excelente torno ficou é possivel comprar o projeto
Hız kontrol devresi kullanman iyi oldu yoksa motor hızı çok yüksek olurdu . Eline sağlık güzel makine yaptın
Teşekkürler, bir elektrikli hız kontrol cihazı kurdum
Putting me to sleep with that wood hammer smaking
😀🔨🪵👍
Absolutely amazing, I just watched a bloke make a wood lathe out of WOOD! This earned a sub for the mad skills. ;)
Thank you👍🙂
Flawless build useful tool to the shop. Pls share plans if available
I didn't make plans for this project, parts sizing was made in building process
I was wondering how can someone get the blueprints with the washing machine motor that's the best one I've seen made from DIY is there anyway I can get the blueprints to that I appreciate it I just want to make it last thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work I subscribed to your channel. You really take pride in your work that's cool
top demais o trem bomito
Wow!!!! Awesome Dude!!!!!! Thank You!!!!!👍😎😃🤘 Do you have plans for this? I would be very interested!!!! 🙏
I made this without plans, reusing just materials which I had in garage, as prices jumping up extremely in these days😐
Awesome build, best I've ever seen. Can I ask the difference between having the motor as direct drive as opposed to how you have it with a belt drive? Why the belt? Thank you in advance
This motor has very high rpm, with belt and pulleys I slow down rpm and get better torque. If you connect washing machine motor direct to socket it will spin in about 10000-15000rpm. and its danger speed for lathe.
@@CraftyDude Thank you very much for your response. I really appreciate it.
@@CraftyDude Your argument is valid for pure classic (motor + belt + pulleys) scheme. But with electronic rpm control do we still need pulleys and belt?
Hello,
a wonderful job! It would be fun to build something like this!
Do you have sketches or plans with dimensions?
... or similar hints or help for the project?
Warm greetings
Kuno Gross
Hello, no I didn't made any plans for this project
This motor is silent and powerful and with a speed grader! Could you tell me what engine and parts you used?
This is beautiful work! Congrats! Thank you for contributing with great taste and knowledge to the RUclips community!
Its Miele washing machine motor, link to speed controller Is in video description section. Thank you👍🙂
nice
Very cool build but the wooden pulley is going to over heat the belt. A metal pulley is better because it will disperse heat faster and prevent the belt from over heating and breaking. .
Good job I like your design where did you get that power knob
Check the link in video description section👍🙂
Fantastic work, dude! Really impressive!!! 😮
I just subscribed! And if you ever start selling the plans for this lathe... Let me know! 😃
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you👍🙂
Which wood you are using ?
It is just like butter , do smooth
Birch plywood
Bello veramente, oltre che funzionale, anche un tornio che impreziosisce il laboratorio. Una curiosità, il motore usato, è un motore di lavatrice o lo hai preso appositamente? In descrizione non c'è? Grazie.
Grazie, è il motore della lavatrice Miele😉
I'm curious my friend how often you going to use that one just asking .
I didnt have plan to make 100 bowls or something like that, but I using this machine all the time, usualy for making handles or other small stuff, now I thinking to make disk sander attachment, so it will be even more useful, for sanding and lathe job
Would love to see a dimensional diagram and plans for this, one of the cleanest looking DIY shop lathes on this site.
My plan was, use materials which I have in place🙂 so all parts sizing was in making process
@@CraftyDude 7ш
I'd like to see more of that process and a lot fewer holes being drilled and screws being screwed.@@CraftyDude
nice video master machine plan ?
thats a nice job. btw, do you know whats the max rpm you got with this lathe system?
I never use it in max rpm, but it has to be about 3000rpm max
@@CraftyDude do you think motor that runs max to 1745rpm can give a nice lathe performance?
Washing mashine motor has about 10000rpm, but with pulleys I lower it 3 times, if you make twice bigger pulley on motor then on lathe shaft you will increase speed twice
@@CraftyDude can I sent you an email with a picture of my motor and then you can say me if I can manage to instal a speed regulator on it?
@@guilhermecsaez ok
👍👍👍
😍😍😍😍
Do you have plans or measurements?
Onde encontro para comprar
would this work on a longer scale? like 40 or even 52 inch? if I had my way I'd make them 96 inches lol, but how long out would it keep stable?
If you make long ones then it's good to tighten the bottom to workbench
One last comment is there any way people can download the blueprints to that laid?
