    Absolutely gorgeous man. The only one ive seen come close to this level of craftsmanship was a scratch built treadle powered jewelers lathe, and trust me, you can ask the wife, ive watched a lot of power tool scratch builds! 😂

      It’s very strong!!! Very common in Brasil, Colômbia, Guiana Francesa, Guiana, Peru, Ilhas Seychelles e Suriname.

    Hello friend! I plan on building something like this for myself, and had some questions.
    First, what did you do for the spindle? Did you purchase one, or get it from a broken lathe? Or make it?

    • @woodtransformer
      @woodtransformer  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hello friend! Good idea, you can make like that.
      About the spindle, this is very importante. I made a sketch and send to mechanic. You can buy in amazon all the peace’s. I bought wash machine motor and controls in amazon.

    • @Butteredthanatoast
      @Butteredthanatoast 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@woodtransformer So you had it custom machined? My university has a machine shop, so I might make it there. How has the lathe held up? Is it still going strong?

    • @woodtransformer
      @woodtransformer  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Butteredthanatoast Very strong! Was made for that... Stability, firmness and security. If you need any help, let me know!

      I'm considering making my bed ways out of angle irons, 2x1.5 inches, for additional strength. What do you think of this idea?
      Also, how powerful is your motor?

    • @woodtransformer
      @woodtransformer  6 месяцев назад +1

      @Butteredthanatoast Great! The estructure is very important than a strong motor. Your project, I believe, is a more professional than my. For select the motor you need a lot of attention... 1) what the size of pieces you will make with that lathe? 2) what command control you use for speed control? 3) wells for rpm? My project, 1/4hp, motor well 2”, spindle well 3,5”... my limit piece size 7” diameter.

    Awesome video. Did you create your own plans or use premade plans? Would love a pdf plans of this. I have an old washing machine motor I am looking to repurpose and this would be great. Also want to incorporate 3d printing as well.

      Hi, I did everything using wood scraps! The base was: Motor, axle and chuck! I'm thinking about designing all my projects. In the meantime I can help you... I have videos in the shots of a detailed drawing of the lathe that can help you. Any information I am available to help! Thank you very much for the message! @3s-Woodworking

      Tudo bem? Tenho um lay-out que já apresentei nos shorts, visualmente você consegue ter uma ideia bem detalhada do conceito do projeto. Não fiz desenhos iniciais, fui construindo na medida que as peças foram chegando. Uma espécie de quebra cabeça sem peças definidas. Se não conseguir nos shorts me avise que posso te ajudar! Grande abraço e obrigado pela mensagem!!!!

    Con toda esa herramienta que tiene, creo que podría comprar un torno real, el tutorial está excelente, pero nosotros no tenemos tanta herramienta y si la tuvieramos querrá decir que también podríamos comprar un torno real

      Olá @MrBasslayer2 tudo bem?
      Não se trata de ter dinheiro para comprar, este é o segredo que poucos sabem. Quando gostamos de trabalhos manuais a construção é a essência de tudo. Eu tenho um torno mecânico, Serra de bancada, fita e outras ferramentas elétricas que não vem ao caso.
      Recebemos inspirações e compartilhamos ideias/projetos para retribuir as inspirações que recebemos. De qualquer forma vou deixar a dica. Já que você não tem muitas ferramentas lembre-se que: compre sempre as melhores e terás para sempre. Grande abraço!
