Two dynasties playing every damn season it seemed and every game was a classic. I'm an old man at 58 and have been a Cowboy fan since I watched them as a young lad when they beat the Dolphins 24-3 for their first title a Miami team that would go undefeated the following season, but I tell ya...tons of respect for the 49ers and Steelers! Those two teams were not our division rivals but teams that we battled for either the right to go to the Bowl or to play in the Bowl (Steelers 3 times, still owe you guys one lol) thus more of a rival than the NFC East teams we basically dominated. Those teams were just legendary. The 70's through the mid 90's was the best era of football in my humble opinion.
I agree. I grew up a 49er fan since the 80's and watched them win 5 SB. I absolutely hated the Cowboys of the 90's. But damn, it was must see TV every time they played. After watching some old 90's Cowboys games on RUclips, I got to admit, that team was on a whole different level. I honestly believed they could of won 4 or 5 SB in a row if Jimmy wasn't fired.
This was appointment TV back in the day. Dallas @ San Francisco or San Francisco @ Dallas. Back when they didn't put it on at night; it was a four o'clock game ET in usually early November so the whole country could watch it. Must've been that way for about five years. We could usually even watch it here in New York, where we'd rarely get more than two games with the antiquated broadcast rules preventing a double-header game be aired opposite the Jets or Giants when they were at home. They'd find a way to air it here too when one of the New York teams was on a bye or playing at night. Thanks for the upload!
@contentm3893 Strangly, the discipline was only lost on the offensive side of the ball. Aikman, Moose, Emmitt, Irvin, and a veteran offensive line. Always found it weird that the defense was dominant all four seasons Switzer coached in Dallas.

This was a heavyweight bout every time in the early - mid 90s. We all know how good Dallas was, but the SF teams during this time were very very good also. Overlooked IMO.
I wonder if this was the defensive game plan for Dallas for what they thought would be the 95 NFC championship. Switzer's defense clearly saves the day.

Wrong. 3 for 3 in SBs as the starting QB for the best team in the 90s. If you’re going by that standard then Joe Montana or Terry Bradshaw shouldn’t be in the HOF.

RIP John Madden and Pat Summerall
DAL/SF faced off 8 times in 5 calendar years from 1993-1997.
Each time they played each other, it was a Clash Of The Titans
I remember all of those games……they were pretty much like playoff games!
Including multiple conference title games at 3Com (1992,1994) and Texas Stadium (1993)

One of the very last high points of the Dallas dynasty.

Why did they never try to put Troy in the shotgun? Especially with all the hits he took later in his career.
