- The scientists have crunched some numbers to compare fish ponds to some of the alternative outdoor farm equipment. I'll give my impressions on which is best for making money, efficiency, and aesthetics.

How do you still have less than a thousand subscribers? These videos are so well done - I keep expecting to see 50k views and 200k subscribers but apparently not (yet!)
Haha, tysm
@@Kitadollx love your videos 🤑🤑🥰🥰❤❤
Clearly I need to set up more mushroom logs. Very interesting to see the breakdown.
Deluxe Retaining Soil is ideal for flowers for beehouses. Alternatively you can also water any flower boxed in by beehouses with an upgraded watering can and you only need to water them during the growth phase anyway. So using a spot for a sprinkler to keep watering the flower is a bit of a waste.
Good point. If you go the flower honey route with deluxe retaining soil, you'll probably net an extra 5% output with these configurations. I think the overall conclusion will be about the same though. Thanks for watching!
you are so helpful with your guides!!! thanks and keep up the great work
I was going to say, I want to see this tested in a bigger area, maybe 10x10 as the equivalent of four fishponds but I guess only mushroom logs and bee houses really scale with that. Mushroom logs are already winning, and bee houses are generally better on GI as they can produce fairy rose honey year round which makes them significantly stronger than on the farm. I think there is a VERY strong argument for at least one fishpond on meadowlands so I don’t need to walk as far to water my crops 😂
Yes! If I wasn't so limited on farm space a bigger area would have been cool to see how things play out. I especially think bee house aesthetics and flower efficiency improve with more space and a little design planning.
@@Kitadollx The beehouses are especially curious because one flower can cover a lot more than 5x5 but you still need walkways.
As the beehouses got upgraded to detect flowers in flowerpots, I tried making a shed with beehouses, didn't work, so now my farm is littered with beehouses, I don't care about flower honey I just want the most money for the least effort.
Bee houses don't produce honey indoors, but they do year-round on Ginger Island, and that makes it a good place to make honey farms.
@@-ElMaistro67891 Ya I kinda found that out already. I dunno if the space on Ginger island is worth wasting on bee hives though, I've started growing uh rare(?) fruits, those orange-ish elongated ones that are only sold from the gypsy cart. Those sell for a pretty penny with fertilizers, but they do take like a season to grow.
When it comes to fishponds, I tend to first get a pond of purple sea cucumber so I can get a head start on iridium tools and they have they have the 3rd best roe price. Then I get one for sturgeons until I can get around 5 or 7 lava eels then I replace the sturgeon. What are your thoughts on crab pots with the new baits, are the professions still not worth it?
I haven't really played around with crab pots much since 1.6, but that might be an interesting topic. I'll have to see if the scientists are available to crunch some numbers. Thanks for watching!
Combine Mushroom logs with Magic trees and the perk that doubles the value of your syrups.. and it's an absolute powerhouse of money-making.
I was most concerned with profitability versus effort or time taken. I would have liked to see a chart at the end so I could understand the direct comparisons better. I left with the takeaway that tapped mystic trees and mushroom logs were the most profitable, but not the overall understanding I wanted.
I started my last farm with the idea that I'd make a huge mushroom log farm at the train station, and even with this being my goal from the beginning, I found I hit some roadblocks. I got around 300 moss on the green rain day, and that quickly gets used up when making mushroom logs. I run out of mahogany seeds quickly when making mystic trees and they can take a long time to grow. Mystic trees are also so late game that my ancient fruit wine business makes it feel irrelevant.
5:05 what is this dialogue 😂
Lmao no kidding. Everything’s nice and family friendly for all the 8 year olds out there who enjoy SDV until it very suddenly isn’t 😂
Great, that's what it is X'D
THIS is why she need all those coconuts btw...
I WISH we could make coconut oil ( for cooking 😡). I tried. Anyway I’ve never seen that dialog is it in the Vanilla game? ( I only play on mobile ).
Did you put all mushrooms in dehydrators only? Wouldn't throwing as many in a preserving jar as you can be quite a bit more money, while only dehydrating the extras?
Yeah. I usually stick to dehydrators, just because the volume of mushrooms gets so high, especially if you expand beyond a 5x5 area. You're absolutely right though. Preserves jars will widen the mushroom log lead by a bit more if you have the jars to support it.
Great video as always KitaDoll! Keep up the awesome work!
Fish Ponds are useful just because you might get some really Valuable stuff from them. it's a Low Chance but still a chance.
I mean Rainbow Trout might give Prismatic Shards
one of the Sea Cucumber could give you Iridium.
I wouldn't put too many on the Farm but some Definitely.
yes, let the mushroom take over commence (sick and tired of kegs 😷)
Umm... is that custom dialog for Haley?
❤️❤️❤️
Super usefull
5:03 so is that modded or did you write that for the video?
It was not a mod. You mean that's not how it normally goes? 😉
