When I 3D scan using lidar in Kiri engine app, it makes this annoying noise while scanning. Is that normal or is it something wrong with my iphone 15 Max?
just tried the free version it rocks! for photo mode upload do they support low angle photos as well? im trying to get bottom details of my toys feets/shoes but never succeeded :)
Thank youuu Rt! Yes it works, but if you flipped the object for bottom capture, make sure turn on the "Auto Object Masking" switch on the uploading page
@@RtyuiAEIOU Yes and no. It's true that Featureless Object Mode uses video format for reconstruction, but it's not just a video version of photo scan, Featureless Object Scan can 3D scan shiny, transparent, or low-texture objects which will definitely cause failure for photogrammetry
So far I'm impressed with this app. Question, I made my first test in FBX, but didn't realize only OBJ comes with textures. Can I change my model in the app to OBJ and re-export?
FBX has texture as well, its embedded into that file. You can re export to another file type but that requires Pro, if you dont want to pay anything you can reupload those images. Because KIRI allows unlimited uploads
@@xingyechrishu6382 My first attempt didn't come with texture map, but I just tried again and now they are there. Very nice. I will be upgrading to Pro soon. Thanks. Update: I just figured out the issue. When importing this FBX into Cinema 4D 25, if you choose Node Based material, it comes in blank. Standard materials works as expected.
From our experience, 80% of the failing case was because you chose an object that doesn't have enough feature points for traditional photogrammetry. You can check out this video to learn about the features points and why it's important: ruclips.net/video/f6vuY-RJtq8/видео.htmlsi=4c0Nd0kaLx-m2ScP
And in relation to the scale, because the measurements aren't right and the application doesn't allow it. I'd like to print my scanned object at the right size.
Unfortunately not a the moment :( But feel free to send me an email at jack.w@kiri-innov.com, I'll see what I can do to help you give it a try before buying the PRO version
Hey! Thanks for the question, and it's a great one! To be honest, with the recent 3D Gaussian Splatting and Vision Pro stuff, we haven't really gotten the chance to work on improving Object Capture Mode, but Quad Remesh and UV Unwrapping for Object Capture is definitely on our pipeline. From the current pace, I'd say it will still take around two- three months
@@KIRI_Engine_App Just one more question; do you know if there currently is any way of testing the KIRI Engine Pro Version? If not, do you know, when the next sale is?
Great job, folks. I would love to see an option to store in a format compatible with Meshroom - which is also free - or pro programs like 3D Zephyr. (Then I would also ask for compatibility with 3D printers, but I know nothing of that world.) My goal - I break a part. I scan it and print a new one. Now _that's_ useful...😉
Hi there! Thank you so much for commenting. Actually, all the suggestions you made are possible in KIRI Engine :) You can export 3D files in OBJ, GLTF, USDZ, and STL, which are compatible with Meshroom, 3D Zephyr and 3D printers :)
Hi Jack....I have just subscribed to your app...but have no success using it so far...Can I get some details about how to work this...I have a I Phone 14 pro...Thanks, Ian
Hey Ian, Jack here! Thank you so much for letting me know about the issue, and more importantly your kind support in subscribing KIRI Engine! If you could send me an email (jack.w@kiri-innov.com) describing the following info, I can help you troubleshoot the issue. So could you send: 1. a photo of the object you were trying to scan so I can take a good look at the object itself 2. which scan mode you used, was it Photo Scan or Featureless Object Scan or Object Capture? 3. If you could also send the model link, it would really help me identify the problems. Looking forward to your email Jack
I will try it with my Android, but I feel 3D scanning might be the single reason to finally get an Iphone for a chnage. edit: just looked up android phones with lidar. Seems to be a thing. Does Kiri support it there?
Hey Alex! Thanks for the comment! Even though there are some Android phones that have LiDAR, the LiDAR scan feature in KIRI only supports the LiDAR on iPhone and iPad unfortunately :( It's because that Android and Google haven't provided enough frameworks for us to develop the LiDAR scan features, so right now only Apple. But hey, have you tried out KIRI Engine on your Android without LiDAR? It's actually pretty good too
@@KIRI_Engine_App fair enough. Ill give it a go, and maybe even opt for an Iphone down the road. Your vid was very insightful, thanks for the detailed walk-through
Hi there! It's actually pretty simple, just open any 3D models you made on KIRI Engine app, and there is a big "export" button on the bottom of the 3D model viewer :)
It would be hard with the Object Capture feature that I was talking about in this video, but in KIRI Engine there's photo scanning mode and featureless object scanning mode that can 3D scan a person body better than the Object Capture. Feel free to give it a try :)
Awesome, I have tried this on my android phone and it's works. The only question that I had is, is those photo has privacy? There are a lot free 3D objects that are listed in the library that you have updated every Tuesday. Is my scan project also will be displayed in the library section?
That's a great question! When you are uploading the photos to our server to generate 3D models, there is a "visibility" toggle that you can choose to turn off. Your 3D models will be private if you turn that off
Great question Mohammad! The Object Capture mode in KIRI Engine doesn't support using a turntable, but our Photo Scan mode in KIRI Engine mode does! And the Photo Scan mode in KIRI Engine is also free! So to use a turntable, use the Photo Scan mode and before taking videos you will see three options above the photo-taking button: Manual capture, auto capture, and turntable mode. Choose to use turntable mode and enjoy 3D scan :DDD
