- My mom and I dive into differences of being a parent now vs. back when she was, her first impression of Matthew, and how she handled hearing here daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Just talking about real parent shit, no filters.
1st: I am a lifelong Michigan resident and long time Lions and Stafford (both you and Matthew) fan. Just want to say how happy I am for Matthew he deserves this. He always played his heart out for Detroit!
2nd: No one walks your path so don’t ever let someone guilt you into second guessing yourself. Especially with your children.
3rd: Love your podcast. Thanks for being you!
I love you more every week. I'm a full-time working mom of 3 and full-time student listening while I cook, this was so encouraging.

I had my daughter at 17. I’m 25 and she’s 8 now. Her entire life I have been in school, working, working multiple jobs, etc. the “mom shame” and the guilt I’ve always made myself feel from not being able to handle or being in the place to be a stay at home mom. Your mother saying she was a better mom being outside then coming back in, that and everything you two talked about after that. I needed it. Thank you ♥️
I hate that women/moms go through this. I just want good moms to feel great about what they’re doing. Forget these people man. Half of them that are shaming and critiquing you guys probably have miserable kids and miserable existences. Just be yourself and you’re an awesome mother I guarantee it!

Thank you for sharing your Hamburg Helper story - I'm like you and your Mom - I hate to cook too and that story was the best, I was laughing so hard :) - As a lifelong Lions fan, you and your Mom's reactions to the Lions' loss on Sunday was spot on. We all feel the same pain, it truly is unbelievable what happens to the Lions! So happy for you and Matthew though - I love seeing him prove the haters how they were wrong! Hope he wins it all! We miss you immensely in Detroit - but love seeing him succeed and showing the Sports world how great he is! ♥

Hi Kelly; life long Lions fan. First time Rams fan! Go Stafford!!! :) Not sure if you're familiar with the Pontiac Silverdome; Lions haven't played there since 2001/'02, but a few years after that, April 9th, '05, we went there for Supercross and between races we were walking the perimeter (concessions, restrooms) and as we were in a sea of people in a really busy pedestrian intersection I lost my son. I had my 7 yo, Branson, in front of me with my hand on his shoulder 'steering' him and I was holding my 5 yo, Mathew's, hand 'pulling' him behind me. I let go of Mathew's hand for what was supposed to be 2 seconds to wipe sweat off my hand, but when I reached back, again, his hand wasn't there. I immediately turn around and, "holy hell", he's gone. I look left, right, further behind us, ahead of us, where in the %&#$ is Mathew?!?! I frantically run Branson over to a wall by the restrooms and stress to him "Stay. Right. Here. I have to find Mathew". I scramble all over the area, down into the adjacent stands, back up, the whole time praying Branson is where I left him; no Mathew. I go back to Branson feeling defeated, track down a Silverdome employee and then, feeling like the worst dad in the history of forever, I explain what happened as best I can in my panicked state of mind. Anyway, they walk me to a cop, he calmly radios someone, walks away and within a few minutes comes back with Mathew. Not only had he and I got separated, but at one point he walked outside the stadium!!! Luckily a woman noticed him looking confused and helped him find a stadium employee and we were reunited. The whole thing turned out fine, Mathew never even got scared (I sure was) and the cop turned out being a biker cop so the kids thought he was cool; he gave Mathew his business card, I thanked him for basically saving my entire day/life and then we went back to our seats and watched the rest of the races. Wow was that ever scary! Glad to hear I wasn't the only one. Tell your mom she isn't either!

When you said “how does that happen!? terrible parenting!” when your mom was talking about losing you in the mall I died laughing 😂 My parents did the same thing with me around Christmas when I was like 3-4. I decided to play hide and seek in the clothes racks and they had the shut down the entire mall to find me.
You were 💯 with all of your parenting thoughts, thanks for always telling it like it is and being truly authentic ❤️❤️ so much Stafford love coming to you from Detroit!!

Raising kids is hard. I don't believe there is a right or wrong way to do it. Instead, you have to do what's right by your own kids and by YOU. And that may be different for each one. We have two, both are now adults. They had different rules, different chores, a lot of different things. They are different people. Both have turned out wonderful. We didn't have means when they were little, but we tried to show them unconditional love in everything. Today, they only remember the fun times as a family. Keep being YOU. Do what you feel is best for your kids and your family. You seem to have a wonderful foundation (thanks Mom!) - trust it and your kids will be amazing people. Thanks for being transparent. It gives me hope! ("only the Lions" is so true and has been for a LONG time, oh my poor heart)

I understand the lessons & values you're trying to teach your children, but I find nothing wrong with giving your children the privileges you've worked hard to be able to give them. I don't have children, but I'll be damed before I'd wait in line for anything if I could afford not to lol. No one should tell you how to raise your children
