I hear most of the Groms coming into shops for major repairs are the ones with the big bore kits. I'll keep it mostly stock, those are the ones that go 40-50-60 thousand miles.

Yes, literally all I see in groups on Facebook is anyone that did major motor work is now having 10 questions about new issues, mine will stay stock and run perfect for years to come

I have a 2024 Grom and only real changes I have made so far are changing the mirrors to bar end style and changed the drive sprocket to a 14 tooth. about $50 in all. I am planning to get a bigger bike down the road, but I like to use the Grom as a tinker bike. Something to learn on as I am not very mechanically inclined. I love the Grom though. It's a tough little bike. I Love to eat my THC gummy and just go ride. The wind feels amazing. All that greatness for around $12 in gas a month.

How do you like the 14 tooth? I been wondering if it's worth it. Did it effect top end much?

I’m just making my Grom custom to how I prefer. I did like it completely stock but there was some things I wanted to change. Not touching the engine at all and no big performance upgrades. So far I got Protaper Klx110 bars with the Protaper pillow top grips also got risers for the bars, Cheeky seat cover, Zoom Loop exhaust system, and a rear fender delete. All else I’m wanting is new tires, hand levers, and maybe a foot shift lever. It may sound like but I got my 2023 Grom for $2,900 with 900miles on it and with all them upgrades it’ll come out to a total price of a little over $3700. Some people are paying not too far off from that price for a stock one. That’s what makes it worth it in my opinion.

I shall sub. Some people may find your ways of thinking as boring or whatnot, but you think logically and with common sense, and I appreciate that. We don't find many of those around anymore.

I just did new OEM cylinder, piston, rings rebuild on my 2015 grom at 17k miles. Still completely stock since buying it 2015.
    Enjoy your ride 🤙😁

Why'd you do that? Was it low on compression or burning oil or something?

@@ImSrry4BeingWhiteI was thinking the same thing. I’ve read of Grom owners with a shit ton of miles and have only ever performed the regular maintenance.

I think it’s a waste of money too. I had my grom for two years now. Later on I just buy a few upgrades here and there and personalize more for my pleasure. It’s just fun to messed around with the grom. Now I understand why people do what they do.

I guess I understand going all out and making it your own.. I do minor upgrades on mine... I just know with thousands of dollars in upgrades you will never make that back other than in just having fun while people have it. I guess I feel it's such a slow fun bike to just keep maxed out at all times I'm just cool with it the way it is lol I'm sure you are the same

Creative Tip for Oil changes: if you have an empty gallon jug for milk or water or something; cut off the top, or use a funnel, really great to use in place of a oil pan. I've done all my oil changes like that (just hit the 2000 mile mark on my bike) :)

Hello, new to the channel. Love the style and am hoping to start vlogging myself on the grom pretty soon! Just put a new tail light on my bike yesterday, crazy how expensive it was but honestly for the safety aspect it was worth, not to mention it looks great!
Do you have any recommendations for clutch lever? There's tons of options to choose from and I'm not super sure how to navigate it.
    Keep up the chill videos!!

And that's awesome i love hearing about what others are doing! If you start motovlogging make sure you send me the link to your channel I'll definitely subscribe!

the only thing i have done to mine is new bars, exhaust and adjustable levers. also dont know if its bad for the trand but i figured out how to quick shift, just apply pressure on the shifter like your gonna up shift and when your ready, go off the gas then back on fast.

I want to change the bars soon on mine, that's a much needed upgrade from stock, plus growing up on dirt bikes I like the straighter feel vs having regular bend style. And as far as shifting just do whatever you like doing... you won't hurt anything on these bikes unless you don't use the clutch and slam gears all the time. But these bikes can take a beating

@@SlowGrom125 yeah, the bars i have is the Protaper SE Mini's but they hit the body so i had to ass 20mm spacers to push the bars up

A clutchless upshift shouldn’t hurt anything if done correctly, and it’s a lot easier to get right with a dog box than a synchro mesh gear box (what cars normally have). I only upshift with the clutch when I’m just putting around at low rpms

    • @SlowGrom125
      @SlowGrom125  3 месяца назад

Yeah that's not going to hurt anything if you do it right which it sounds like you do.

I recently put a new chain and sprocket set on my 2023, but the ABS light keeps flashing when I ride. I can't figure out why.

Have you checked the sensor? Maybe dirt or dust inside where it plugs in?
