I love the way Trent nonchalantly says how he fell off the roof…. Good thing it was feet first and onto a snow drift…. Good to see that you’re making progress on the siding, but snow is on the way (you probably already know that) so I hope you finish putting up the siding soon. Merriest of Christmas to everyone in your family!
Hi Trent & Allie, Been having a think about your critter problem, Could you attach a GoPro onto the side of the building near the nest entrance to catch some footage? Then at least you'd know what your dealing with.
I think the overall appearance of your house has improved significantly. The large extension and the covered verandah give it a more substantial, planted look. Nice !!!❤
Allie admitted to drinking a lot of coffee just a couple videos ago when they launched their coffee, so yea, l think this is a huge factor as to why Billy isn't sleeping..
Maybe place a 'FAKE' owl in a very visible location to discourage some of the animals or birds from nesting up under your siding? Just a thought. It can work in certain circumstances. Besides my advice, that you are never in short supply of, THE HOUSE LOOKS GREAT!!
I have a "fake" owl that makes the noise of one if anything goes near or past it. Cool advice. I agree it always seems most people on here are giving advice about something. I don't usually comment, the house does look great. Happy holidays to you and yours ☺
@@indigowarrior855 years ago I did this with my son who wanted the bottle every few hours. A nurse suggested that I try it. It was a game changer. He is now 6’3”, 210 and spent 25 years in the army. No it didn’t hurt him.
When my 3 kids were babies (they are grown adults now) I started cereal with them between 3-4 months old. It really helped to let them sleep through the night or their naps.
Wow, that was quite the juggling act, getting all of that tricky siding on and then figuring out how to get the cricket covered with sheet metal. Good job!
A couch cushion foam on the roof and stand near the lower half will keep you from sliding. It also can be used to hold tools or materials from sliding. Never stand on the top half th cushion. As it could roll out from under you.
When Trent, Brandon and Greyson were lifting the siding, each on their own ladder's, I don't think I've ever held my breath more in my entire life 😲 Well Done Men!! That is some scary stuff for sure, but you DIT IT!! I am So Proud of you All🙌🏼🙌🏼 and Greyson up on the roof army crawling in what must have been a very slippery slope and sloughing off excess snow to make it safe... I was holding my breath so much!!! Great job Greyson 💯 I love Trent and Brandon's friendship, it is Priceless!! When Brandon said, ya, grab a sandwich while we hold this siding...🤣🤣🤣 Oh, and Trent needed to get a drink... Brandon you are Hilarious and that quote was epic.... So proud of you men, you scare the crud out of me sometimes, but you always pull through and are doing an Incredible job... Blessings and Love to you All 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Allie before bed mix a little baby rice cereal in Billie milk. I promise he will stay sleep longer. My oldest daughter had the same thing. Good wishes.❤
Question about that beautiful birch: is that dirt up around its trunk going to be removed soon? You can suffocate a tree with dirt like that , if you leave it that tree will rot. It’s so pretty I know you’d be sad of it died
Trent please wear a safety harness on the roof. I was having heart palpitations. If you get injured think of the repercussions on Allie! ❤ you all🙏🙏🙏Blessings
Time is sooo crazy I remember watching Trent build out the first van before leaving on the road. To now you have two kids and building a giant house. Just amazing.
I hadn't noticed before today how much little Billy is starting to look like his big brother. His little face is taking on the family features, Much love to you guys.
Guys, when it's summer and nice you need to just go back and run a horizontal ridgepole from the old roof peak to where it hits the side of the new house. Then run planks, deck them, roof them, and create full height protection and deal with the whole problem once and for all. It's the most inaccessible part of your entire roof and will always be super sketchy to try and deal with in the winter. Otherwise, you'll be fighting water and damage in BOTH parts of the house as ice dams form and wreak all kinds of havoc.
Keep in mind, I fell 12 inches to land on my feet and I had explosive compound fracturing of my left tibia plateau. Took 7 surgeries over a 3 year period so I could walk again. No more running, no more jumping, and because it took so long I'm lucky to be able to bend to 110 degrees. I was about your age, not overweight, and quite active. My femur basically did a piledriver into my tibia and that's all she wrote. Take it from me, the *LAST* thing you want is do damage your knees. Don't believe me, go to any fast food place using crutches and carry your own tray to the table. Once you realize just how dependent you are being able to use your hands while walking, you then realize how extremely limited you are when you can't walk without crutches, a walker, or even a cane.
@@LoreneSeman-r9y We went back and measured, it was 12 inches. I don't recall exactly how it happened but the general consensus is I landed straight legged at least on my left leg. I passed out for a couple seconds and woke up already holding my knee. Nobody was actively watching me so there were no witnesses that could detail what happened. All anyone saw was my yelling out in pain holding my knee after the fact.
It really scares me seeing you guys up on the roofs without any safety and slippery everywhere.😨😨 You might fall once or twice Trent and not get hurt, but please put safety for you and the team before anything else!! 🙏🙏 You have a family to think about!!!❤❤❤❤
Allie, try feeding Billy some cereal 3-4 times a day. That should help with his sleeping…as long as it’s not related to your caffeine intake. If he’s sensitive to caffeine and you’re drinking any at all, that will also keep him from sleeping.
I agree! Many babies need more calories to sleep, especially boys. You can get a special cereal bottle and use breast milk to make the cereal. You will be amazed how quickly he will sleep after. Use rice cereal, digests easily. 🙏🏻 for sleep and rest for all! Merry Christmas 🎄
I totally agree about the cereal. My son just didn’t sleep at all. As soon as my mom started him on pablum as she called it about 5 or 6 months he started sleeping normal and even took like 2 hour naps. I couldn’t believe it. Hope this helps. I’m sure the night feeding will help.❤
Just that little bit of cereal was my answer. Sure enough, it was because he was really hungry. Now, the old saying, "I would rather clothing him then feed him. 😂 My 38 year old can eat. 😂 And you will get sleep. Enjoy!
Yes. Had my 1st in 88' and was blessed to have her begin sleeping through the night the day she turned 3 months old, but after just a few weeks of sleeping bliss, we went through a sleep regression (wasn't even aware it was a thing back then). 3 or 4 weeks in I was on the phone complaining to my mom (we were CG stationed 3000 miles from home and long distance calls were expensive so didn't happen too often), she told me to cut a small criss cross in a bottle nipple (had unfortunately been unable to nurse) and try a tablespoon of rice cereal in her bedtime bottle... It worked like a charm from the very 1st night.
I realize you don't read your comments but I'll ask this question one more time. Why don't you use heated roofing panels in the area where the snow will build up? We had a heated roofing so all we had to do was flip a switch in the house to warm the coils under the roof and all the snow and ice would stuff off without a problem.
What a team you have. A blessing. And to channel Chandler, “could Billy BE any cuter?” The drama of the ladder-apocalypse was where human ingenuity trumped common sense. But it worked haha.
Fabulous work! Beautiful! And to top the experience, hearing Billy give his take on the whole thing melted my heart! Also Leo’s excitement over the shower. What an adventurous life these boys are having. Your home is beautiful!
You guys have done a great job on the house! Pat yourself on the back and even take a break! Have fun get ready for that new snow storm! Be safe, we love you!
The tension I hold in my body watching Trent on that roof is amazing. Here’s to hoping you get that siding on to prevent problems, before the next big snow.

We used bales of straw spread out over the muddy spots when we were building. Yes it took several bales over a few months but it was cheap and worked great.

Trent, you would be lost without Brandon and Graceson. They are super and you are blessed to have them.
They all bring something to the table.
Greyson. You spelled it the girl way.
He doesn't take advice from the comments. He needs them.
He absolutely knows this
I totally agree 🙋🏼♀️
Try installing a roof and gutter heater wire in the cricket area! It might prevent any ice and snow buildup!
Enjoying your building projects!
I DIDN'T even know a gutter heater device was even invented!
But I think THATS's a GREAT Solution for that area!👍
Billy is just the cutest baby, and when he smiles 😊 it's adorable. Hehe 😅. Leo is talking up a storm now, forming sentences. Gotta love it.

Maybe a trail cam
We have this in AZ with woodpeckers. The really like knocking on metal in spring around 5 AM
@patriciacalhoun1702 my hubby said the same thing, Dorset, UK.
Start Billy on some rice cereal before final evening feeding. , that will carry him for a longer time before he wants to eat again.
That smile on Trent's face when he gets it 'right'.... Priceless!

You’re breastfeeding? If you’re drinking coffee, the baby is going to stay awake!!! No caffeine
It is possible. I always stopped coffee when I was nursing. At least try it Allie. Go to decaffeinated.
Allie admitted to drinking a lot of coffee just a couple videos ago when they launched their coffee, so yea, l think this is a huge factor as to why Billy isn't sleeping..
Maybe one day she will read these comments on breast feeding and how Billy sleeps.
She's not smart enough to breast feed or stop drinking coffee for the babies sake?
In the old days we used to keep tools in the garage.
Only one coffee a day when breastfeeding, unless it's decaffeinated, more sleep for Billy xx

Baby cereal before bed will help Billy sleep longer at night. Same before nap
No solids needed before 6 months old.
@indigowarrior8 depends on your doctor. I have heard both ways. My grand kids it's 4 months. According to their doctor.

Heat tape big time, especially where cricket runs into the house. Frozen water will do more damage than water.
Omg Billy in the front carrier adorable! The sunshine will help him sleep too. ☀️❄️
A couch cushion foam on the roof and stand near the lower half will keep you from sliding. It also can be used to hold tools or materials from sliding. Never stand on the top half th cushion. As it could roll out from under you.
Billy is such a darling little pumpkin! 🤗
Amazes me how well you guys measure and cut to fit those pieces EXACTLY! Great job guys!!
I wonder if a layer of straw would help with the mud.
Wouldn't hurt
And a gravel dump
Just wanted to post this idea. A couple of bales of hay or straw will do it.
If nothing else, they can use the resultant mash for making bricks? 😅
Wood Chips are good as well.
Second on caffeine intake i had a problem with tea when nursing m daughter years a go
Im sure Billy cries, but honestly he just seems like a sweet happy easygoing adorable baby
The shower is absolutely gorgeous...love that tile.
Yes! The colors will be fun to coordinate.

The sunroom is the obvious choice since it is closer to where they use the tools.
