Hey Max, for some reason I have to turn up your videos to full blast on my computer's sound and RUclips sound, but then the ads come on, and I get blasted out. I am not sure why your videos are so quiet. I am slightly hearing impaired which is the real issue, but with the ads and all of the other videos, I am not having to turn up to full volume. So it isn't my computer's problem or a RUclips issue. With the video on full blast, I can hear you, but you are still super soft. I thought I would bring this up because it is frustrating trying to listen to something so soft.

There's also tile friendly paint, if it bugs you a lot that you could get a little sample of and blend it in! 😉 By all means, embrace the imperfections, but personally, I'm the type of person who it would bug me (probably only because I did it) and would want to do something to blend it in.

Watching your channel reminds me why I’m doing what I’m doing. Selling off stuff, living in my car for a stint, just generally not loving life all that much at the moment as I’m currently living in my sister’s basement (love my family, and grateful for the support but who wants to be doing this at 40) with no real clue how I’m getting from where I am to where I want to be, so that one day I can have a tiny house/commune of my own. I know the why, but still working out the how. Trying to build a business to sustain myself. The massive amount of work that it takes to achieve this lifestyle is rarely talked about. It’s worth the effort, but to say it’s disheartening at times is an understatement. Two steps forwards, five steps back is the reality for sure. Thanks for being so real about that. No one just hands it to you, have to be willing to put in the hard work to get there. I worked hard for 20 years building other people’s dreams, including helping my sister build her business for 3 years. It’s MY time now, and I can’t WAIT for the day I buy some land and my tiny house takes shape. It’s been a tough few weeks for various reasons. Watching you build this bathroom is the boost I needed to keep going on my path too. Love your positive outlook/attitude. Keep up the great work! Max, you’re a lot closer to finishing the bathroom than you may realize because you’re exhausted. You’ve been working so hard and definitely need a holiday break with Occy and your girlfriend. When you both get back you can work on finishing the bathroom together. You’ve been doing incredible work there. Those of us who’ve been following you for years are very impressed by your dedication and achievements. BTW, eventually, 3 rows of open shelves on both sides next to the window in the kitchen would look really good, complete the look, and give you some additional storage space. To day is Sunday December 15th 2024…..as soon as you did the brass knobs on the bathroom vanity I pushed pause on my tablet and tried the past mixture on so brass objects I got from my deceased sister….IT worked beautifully!! These pieces haven’t been polished in 14 years. Thanks for the information. I’ll be sure to pass it on😊

That’s why I always choose bigger tiles much less labor intensive than the little ones. I have also found that larger tiles help a small room look bigger as well. It looks great and you have done an awesome job
Haha believe me I considered it! (and dreamt of it about half way through) But I really wanted to go for seomthing a bit more unique and that will really set the cabin vibe theme I will be going for throughout the rest of the space

Now in my late 50's Ive been working with my partner since C19 started as a plumbers assistant. So Im very aware and familiar with all that is involved in remodeling. It is yruly grueling physical work. That said, now I also recognize how short sighted bathroom designs are. I also do moveout , move in cleaning and vacation rental cleaning. All to make ends meet these days. There is way more that i also do, but thats not relevant here. My point is Max that is is in my experience very important to have a fan in the bathroom not just a tiny in wall can fan but a true fan that will help circulate tge airflow to minimize after showers the mold growth on tile grout and walls. I see it daily even in my own home. I religiously turn on my fan after showering in my bathroom while my partner only remembers now and again. Hence the more mold he has in his shower on the curtain and so on. So please install a fan either directly over the shower or in the middle of ceiling type. Only needs to be turned on after the shower or steam bath , not during the shower. Just my opinion. Also as a cleaner may i suggest to all readi g this. In the name of protecting our enviroment , please use Hydrogen Peroxide to clean instead of Bleach ! !! Much Aloha 🙏

don't underestimate how COLD tiling can be on the feet in the winter. There is no insulation underneath the house, so during night, it gets chilly fast. I for one like having my feet warm while being in the bathroom xD And you would need to heat the room anyway, so why not put in space saving floor heating instead of a heater, that's just smart :) I do agree that at first it seems a bit silly, but it really makes sense imo
Hahaha that's what I thought at first, but the other 2 comments on this are spot on. Plus because my place is at 300m (almost 1000ft) in altitude, it actually gets quite cold here during winter!

Try a clip on mic so you don't have to worry about the sound not picking up as loud.
You can adjust the audio level as you are editing the video, but it is better to start with a good audio level.

We just put down oak flooring and thought we could do it in a day. It took three! Plus one day of prep work and two days of cleanup. Max, you’re a lot closer to finishing the bathroom than you may realize because you’re exhausted. You’ve been working so hard and definitely need a holiday break with Occy and your girlfriend. When you both get back you can work on finishing the bathroom together. You’ve been doing incredible work there. Those of us who’ve been following you for years are very impressed by your dedication and achievements. BTW, eventually, 3 rows of open shelves on both sides next to the window in the kitchen would look really good, complete the look, and give you some additional storage space. The cabin is coming along so beautifully, looks very comfortable and homey. You’ve done an amazing job with it.

To day is Sunday December 15th 2024…..as soon as you did the brass knobs on the bathroom vanity I pushed pause on my tablet and tried the past mixture on so brass objects I got from my deceased sister….IT worked beautifully!! These pieces haven’t been polished in 14 years. Thanks for the information. I’ll be sure to pass it on😊

That’s why I always choose bigger tiles much less labor intensive than the little ones. I have also found that larger tiles help a small room look bigger as well. It looks great and you have done an awesome job
Haha believe me I considered it! (and dreamt of it about half way through) But I really wanted to go for seomthing a bit more unique and that will really set the cabin vibe theme I will be going for throughout the rest of the space

Now in my late 50's Ive been working with my partner since C19 started as a plumbers assistant. So Im very aware and familiar with all that is involved in remodeling. It is yruly grueling physical work. That said, now I also recognize how short sighted bathroom designs are. I also do moveout , move in cleaning and vacation rental cleaning. All to make ends meet these days. There is way more that i also do, but thats not relevant here. My point is Max that is is in my experience very important to have a fan in the bathroom not just a tiny in wall can fan but a true fan that will help circulate tge airflow to minimize after showers the mold growth on tile grout and walls. I see it daily even in my own home. I religiously turn on my fan after showering in my bathroom while my partner only remembers now and again. Hence the more mold he has in his shower on the curtain and so on. So please install a fan either directly over the shower or in the middle of ceiling type. Only needs to be turned on after the shower or steam bath , not during the shower. Just my opinion. Also as a cleaner may i suggest to all readi g this. In the name of protecting our enviroment , please use Hydrogen Peroxide to clean instead of Bleach ! !!

Underfloor Heating in a Tropical Rain Forest??? Must be love :)
don't underestimate how COLD tiling can be on the feet in the winter. There is no insulation underneath the house, so during night, it gets chilly fast. I for one like having my feet warm while being in the bathroom xD And you would need to heat the room anyway, so why not put in space saving floor heating instead of a heater, that's just smart :)
I do agree that at first it seems a bit silly, but it really makes sense imo
