The Body Farm in Knoxville isn't just an experiment. It is a teaching method for the University of Tennessee's criminal forensics students. People donate their bodies upon death and they are left outside in various circumstances, such as in a car, under brush, in a trash can, etc. The students then analyze the bodies at different intervals to see how the body decomposes in different circumstances over time. This allows them to then go on and help identify when a real murder/accident victim died.

@@SilentForrest I agree 100%! My Mum died by suicide and her life insurance policy didn't pay out. In some cases, there's an exclusion period, meaning the insurance companies will not pay a death benefit if the policyholder dies by suicide within the first two years of coverage. I'm not sure if this is a relatively new thing, my Mum passed in 2002, or if the company that she was insured under didn't have an exclusion period. 🤷‍♀️
The money would've been a huge help for my family and I. The stigma of suicide needs to be broken... However, that's an entirely different discussion.

Life insurance sales people are often terrible. Mine lied about how long my insurance term was, they told me about a long term plan then selected a shorter term without telling me, to make the premium cheaper so I'd buy it. The insurance will run out when I'm 60 and won't be able to afford new insurance, it would be like $500/mo. I don't qualify for new insurance right now because of health issues (so I can't buy a longer term), but they encouraged me to buy a new policy from them anyway. They said the company might not look into it if i died, and my beneficiaries would get back everything I paid in premiums if the company determined I hadn't qualified to begin with. I wasn't sure whether a health issue was going to be a pre-existing condition basically, and they wouldn't tell me if it was or not. The rep said the only legal requirement was for me to answer honestly whether "to my knowledge" i had sought care for any conditions on their list, and then if I died, the company would review my medical records for the past x years and decide if I had sought care for the issue or not. They pull that scam with so many people who end up with at best like $4000 of refunded premiums or whatever instead of a $250,000 insurance payout

Defense attorney can't lie because they weren't there to be able to talk about the actions in question- unless they were in which case they wouldn't be a defense attorney and instead would be a witness. Even if you have a confession from your client, and indisputable evidence that the actions in question happened (i.e. video evidence of your client taking the life of another person), that doesn't mean they're guilty of the crime they're being charged with anyway.

I'm still not sold on the last one being a suicide.
Why do it in the absolute middle of nowhere?
His body might not have been found for months or even years.
That certainly would have hindered his son in getting to collect his life insurance money.
Also, where is his laptop, his gun, and especially his SHOES???
The tape on his hands might have been loosened from him trying to get them free.
As for how the word FED was written, we're talking about very rural Kentucky where exquisite handwriting skills aren't very commonplace, and a good pair of shoes are difficult to come by ~ if you have any at all.
The laptop could have been sold and they could have taken the gun.
Wasn't this the year that they were practically having to beg for census takers?
If so, they definitely didn't need it getting out that they were being murdered.
    🤷‍♀️
I'm just saying that I'm not completely buying the suicide theory.

That last one is likely not a suicide. I live in Appalachian territory east TN (moved here about 3 years ago) and the locals here are very vocal about their tight-knit community and their hatred for the "feds" (or any outsiders, for that matter). Its almost like another country out here. I actually first heard about the census worker killing as a cautionary tale from a native from that area - moral being don't go bothering the people living in the hills. The people were convinced that this census worker was sent by Washington trying to get information on them and he said they had none of it. He said the entire community turned a blind eye to it with even the local deputies convincing the feds that it was a suicide. He then went on to tell three more similar tales about outsiders getting themselves killed in Appalachia, and he hasn't given me any reason to doubt his trustworthiness yet.

His mom saying she didn't see the multiple personalities is actually what made me believe he wasn't faking. She probably caused or at least knew about the trauma that caused the initial split. As more personalities emerged in his adulthood they would become more obvious which is why his wife's word means more than his moms imo. Not to mention the prostitute also said she witnessed them. The prisoner saying he admitted he was faking isn't a reliable source to me either due to the fact he's in prison and would do anything to get out. I don't believe he could've faked it that well

6:50 "When it came time to cooperate, all of the women refused. Why?"
Because SWers cooperating with the police means:
-The high risk of being discriminated and humiliated by the police, investigators and judges for their work (and getting told they were asking for it bc it's their job)
-Having to disclose their legal name and info, therefore putting themselves in greater danger, and possibly outing themselves to their families and loved ones, resulting in greater judgement and isolation
In a country where police are litterally allowed to book a sex worker, have sex with them and then arrest them, I totally understand why they all refused to get into this case. 😔
WHICH GOES TO SHOW: if sex work were decriminalised, the case would have been opened a lot sooner, and MANY OF THESE WOMEN would still be alive.
    😔❤️

I feel excited when you upload then I feel guilty for feeling excited because your upload means yet another crime against someone... But I appreciate your efforts nonetheless. Thank you so much.
