  • As the end of summer roles closer, the Severn Valley Railway charged on with their return to service fronting three steam locomotives for the days' 'Grand Reopening' services.
The railway ran three individual services over the course of the day, "The Flyer" and "The Explorer" starting out of Kidderminster, and "The Adventurer" starting from Bridgnorth - with every service making a stop at Highley for passengers to make a visit to The Engine House, home to numerous of the railways' locomotives.
Resident on the West Somerset Railway, 6960 "Raveningham Hall" is an ex-resident of the SVR having been based there from 1977 to 1996. The locomotive returned to the SVR in 2019 on hire from the WSR, in a swap with 7802 "Bradley Manor". Alongside the 'Modified Hall' Class, Rebuilt Bulleid Pacific 34027 "Taw Valley" and 'Pannier Tank' 7714 were in service through the Shropshire and Worcestershire countryside.
    Locomotives:
GWR 6959 'Modified Hall' Class - 6960 "Raveningham Hall"
    Ex-GWR 5700 'Pannier Tank' Class - 7714
Ex-SR Rebuilt 'West Country' Class - 34027 "Taw Valley"
All footage filmed on Saturday the 22nd of August 2020.
