"Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight surrounded by his wife Deborah, daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends," a post to his official Facebook page said. Cher paid tribute to the late singer on Twitter. "Had So Much Fun With [Meat Loaf] When We Did "Dead Ringer." [I] Am Very Sorry For His Family, Friends, & Fans. Am I imagining It, or Are Amazing Ppl In The Arts Dying every other Day!?" She wrote.

Mine too. I Discovered meatloaf when I was in middle school. I didn’t know what kind of music to like until I found out about him. This was in 2007 so my friends probably didn’t get it but oh well. This guy has been a part of my life every since. Every playlist had at least five Meat Loaf songs on it. Can’t think of a favorite.
I miss both of them (Meat and Jim) though I never got to meet them. But I’m so grateful that they blessed us with so many great songs. Y’all don’t stop rockin ❤️

This broke my heart. Paradise by the Dashboard Lights was the first "dirty" song i ever heard in 5th grade. His voice was absolutely incredible!! W Betty, Bob, Meat Loaf & Louie, heaven is a lot brighter, a lot funnier, & definitely rocking out. RIP to them all & prayers to all their families, friends and fans 🙏 ❤

God bless Meatloaf's soul. "I would do anything for love, but I won't do that." That song is still a jam. I'm black and I love him, I remember me and my cousin was drinking some gin singing that song laughing and acting stupid, it was fun!. Our father in heaven made that tree of knowledge, he knew that Adam and Eve was going to eat fruit from that tree because the Bible say he knew you before you were born, so I don't understand our Lord sometimes. You don't know what kind of world it would be if they didn't bite that apple. My point is, we wouldn't have people like Meatloaf and our other greats that passed away and our father in heaven made him so he will except him with open arms.

I first came across Meat Loaf on `The Old Grey Whistle Test`, where he made his `UK` debut on the Beeb. I was blown away as a 15 -16 year old by the massive production of the music with this crazy big guy with a voice and charisma i will never forget. R.I.P. Big Man. Respect to the singer.
