It is kind of strange to feel so sad that your heart aches for a person you never met and who didn't know you. After listening and enjoying his music for 45 years I guess the connection was there. I am glad he is not in pain anymore but I have found myself in tears just thinking about different times in my life that I remember listening to his songs. RIP Meatloaf, you are missed, many of us will never forget you.🙏

My late brother was in Meatloaf's band back in the mid 80s. According to him, Meatloaf used to sing this song before his shows to warm up his voice: 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight'. My brother died of cancer, going on 3 years ago. He was a guitarist/singer/songwriter. Besides doing live shows with Meatloaf, he also did live shows with Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison (The Doors), and Janis Joplin. The last thing I said to my brother the day before he died was: the opening line of The Righteous Brothers' 'Rock N Roll Heaven'. RIP to the both of them.

I've loved his music for over 40 years, since my early teens....I've pretty much grown up with him. His songs were the background to so many of my life's pivotal moments, good and bad, and he has given me so many wonderful memories that will last me the rest of my days. Every one of his songs is linked to some or other key point in my life, and every time I hear one of them, I am instantly transported to other times, be they magical or sad. Meat's music was that rare combination of tenderness, anger, energy, softness, jealousy, compassion, youthful abandonment and insightful maturity, that will never be matched by anyone else. He and Jim produced material that others can only dream of aspiring to. His legacy encompassed the whole range of Human emotions, in a way that very few other artists ever managed to achieve. He will surely be remembered as a true musical legend. Make no mistake; we have lost a truly outstanding and beautiful person.

My late wife was still dancing when "I would Do Anything For Love" was out, and I was still chasin' her. I only wish I could have sung his songs like he could. But still sang them in the shower. The soundtrack to my life has been his songs, especially the ones with Jim Steinman. I've been a fan since the 70s, I remember driving to my first college classes with Two Out of Three Ain't Bad blasting on the radio. When I was down, Rock-n-Roll Dreams Come True was my go-to song. I met my husband, my soul mate, after 2 failed marriages. We were both gun-shy (his divorce had been final 2 weeks when we met) and "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) had just come out and was our song. It had all the emotions we both were feeling. And yet, we married in six months. That was 29 years ago this year and still going strong.
To see this, to know how much pain he was in, how "gray" he looked, my heart breaks. I know that Heaven is having one Hell of a Concert and St. Peter had to open the gates for the motorcycle roaring up to be let in. Rock On.

Been a fan since the first time I heard Paradise by the Dashboard Lights on the radio. It was the middle of the night and I was up with my daughter who was about 7 or 8 months old at the time ( she's 43 now) He will be greatly missed and like others have said I'm having trouble believing he's gone 💜💜💜

Watching this video, he talks about the fact that he would be in the hospital for a long time. He also talks about connecting with his fans in another video after he gets out. At no time did I get the sense that he knew he was going to die. I agree that his death was a tragedy, but I don't agree with the caption and description of this video.
RIP Meat Loaf, you were a great performer.
