I got the orange one , it's delicious , lovely keys .I bought it for portability , about 9Kgs , goes in a backpack. a pleasure to play & that makes an instrument .
@@irsadestiwi it has very nice waterfall keys , perfect for organs & synths. the electric pianos are really good & pianos sound ok but if you use piano a lot then get a weighted keyboard.
What kind of giant backpack do you have that a full-size keyed keyboard fits in it and doesn't fall out? I know it's relatively lightweight, but do you maybe mean one of those zip-up, cushioned, case-bags with a shoulder strap that you wear across your chest? (It's just that I can't picture a "backpack" for this.)
I know this was made over a year ago, but Thank You for your excellent demo, the best I've seen on the VOX Continental. This is how I like my keyboard demos- jumping right in and playing it with focused commentary and information, and played by someone who has the background to understand what this keyboard is about and what instruments it is emulating. (Nice job explaining the rocker tabs from the Farfisa Combo Organ and how the lighted drawbars emulate them via an "up/down. on/off" of the leds.) The only thing that leaves me lacking is info on how customizable the splits and layers are on the keyboard. Can you do them quickly? How much onboard, recallable storage for settings is there? How would you describe the feel of the keys and are you happy with it? Thanks again. I like this board. I'm interested in it and the KORG SV-2. It's a shame that Korg apparently. is cutting back on the VOX models, possibly discontinuing it. They have already stopped making the 61-key models and any in Red which is incomprehensible.) So, if I understand correctly, they are only making the 73-BK now.
I still like my red Vox Continental 73. If only you could make the external MIDI keyboard controller the Upper manual instead of the lower only. Makes using the Vox stand useless IMO.
Fantastic playing and sounds. But no screen, can you edit and save sounds? If so it's nice for sounds to have a name rather than a number, even a tiny would have been at least something!

Funny you phrased your question like that because in looking at the Korg SV I was thinking, "if it only had a more expanded organ section with full drawbars on the top surface along with full attention to combo organs." You know, like this VOX has. And watching this excellent demo has me thinking, "If only Korg could put out a third keyboard combining the best aspects and features of the SV and the VOX, I'd be a happy camper." Deciding on which type of keys would be a problem, though- weighted or semi-weighted. Speakers or not. So, maybe just improve both instruments.
@@Daring2Win I like the SV-2S a lot, the looks, built-in speakers, piano keyboard. I don't like its organ section being second place by far to its EPs, since I consider this a stage piano which should cover EPs, acoustic pianos, organs, and related instruments. As mentioned, I would love it if in the future, an SV-3 integrated the drawbar concept from the Vox into it, especially if Korg is dropping the Vox. Two other points: the Vox is much lighter which is nice, and as much as I love the knobs set-up on the SV, the controls set-up on the Vox also seem pretty well thought out, useful, and intuitive. The Vox, outside of the SV's wow factor, seems a more complete instrument. (But w/o speakers or piano feel, if that was a priority.)
@@kengruz669 agreed. i think the SV lines biggest draw, however, is that cool vintage aesthetic, so they'd have to integrate without compromising too much. Possibly a adding the LED into one of the blanks or a mountable drawbar module like the old VK8M, Voce V-5, or Mojo Modules. which, if you buy an SV-2 might not be a bad investment.
@@Daring2Win I've thought about that, but the cool, rounded top of the SV unfortunately precludes setting a module on top. Maybe on an SV-3 Korg could flatten up the top for setting modules on, while still keeping some curve to the front and back.
I don't think that Korg dropped the ball with this keyboard. I think that it is a great under-rated board, personally. I'd say that the ball was dropped on the Hammond emulation if anything.

Really? That is too funny.
I love the look of my Orange Konti soo much more than the BK model. Kills so much of the 60s vibe this keyboard has.
Is the valve drive the same as was on the Triton EX?
Is the keyboard compleatly edit store ready

Nord didn't get that down until the electro 6 came out, it's a sorta niche feature in practice so I don't think it's very relevant
