I remember going by the old town of Burnside, when the Lake was down, and seeing a vintage station wagon parked on one of the streets. Apparently it was left when the town was moved.
I am 82 now and I can remember going to the town when I was very young, with my parents and Cam and Opal Howard.

Thank you for posting this. I grew up in Clay Co. (Hermitage Springs) and visited Dale Hollow on occasion. I even got to visit the dam on a school field trip in the mid-80s.My mother recently mentioned her father, Carlos Green was involved in the construction as a laborer.

Thanks for posting this. I grew up in Clay Co. near Hermitage Springs, where I attended school. I went on a class trip to the dam in the mid-80's. Part of the tour involved taking us down inside the dam. There was an area where tools and an old wooden ladder were left behind post construction, It looked like they had knocked off for the day and never went back. Nobody knew why.
