    Can't wait to get to the piano to try this. I do a warm up with the 5 note pattern going up the scale chromatically. Or going down chromatically. Some days I do everything descending for a change. I've asked some piano professors about what would happen if they taught students descending right from the start. Do Ré Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do would become Do Ti La Sol Fa Mi Ré Do.
    So Ti would not be a leading tone going back home, but leading you away on a voyage.

    Thank you Josef. Lots to do using your lockdown series, it’s been a fabulous antidote for idle fingers and fulfillment while separated from our usual busy-ness.

    Excellent lesson, easy to remember and a challenge in the early stages, but fun. Thanks for putting in extra ideas to add variations . Thank you, this is the first of the 14 I've seen, now to go back to the beginning. Cheers, with gratitude !!....

    This is great. I was just looking for something mindless to do in the morning and found your two morning routine vids a while back. And today I was looking for something to help run though the keys and learn them better, and this popped up while watching your morning left hand routine again. This is perfect. Thank you. I’ll have to go back and check the other 13 lockdown videos. I subscribed, but forget to turn on notification. D’oh!

    I'm a brand new piano player and I've stuck labels on my keys so I can learn them. It's only been 1 week, is it too soon to learn the black keys? Your videos r extremely helpful so thank u!

    • @PianoFromScratch
      @PianoFromScratch 4 года назад +1

      No, definitely not too early learn the black keys! They're great for starting improvisation too. Also would recommend getting the labels off and try and get the note names completely memorised straight away, it's much more helpful in the long run!

    Hello, sir!
    I want to know what is "relative minor scale"?

    • @rachelsimms6822
      @rachelsimms6822 4 года назад +2

      Relative minor is the note 3 semitones lower than your starting note in the major. C major ... down 3 arrives at “A” . By playing the scale of A using the key signature of C , which is no sharp and no flat you are playing the relative minor.... This formula works from any note .... D major has Fsharp and Csharp... down 3 arrive at B . Play B using Fsharp and Csharp and you are in the relative minor of D.
