Boogie Woogie
Hi, excellent, please add the link to the right hand back, It is not working any longer!
Jsi čech? Are you Czech?
Thanks!
Great stuff!! Thank you so much for making it easy to play really cool music without having to learn sight reading and theory! It’s FUN!!!!
Relaxation is the key! Once relaxed, it’s very easy to fall into rhythm. Thanks for your great and very detail videos. Cheers.
The best boogie woogie guide on RUclips! Watched a lot and this is the most precise thank you!
Brilliantly simplistic. Excellent tutorial. Thank you.
I just bought a keyboard, and i can say that U really good teacher! Thank You!😎👌
Ohh I love boogie Woogie! Thank you so much for making a video about it!!!!!!! You inspire me so much, you make me get out of my warm bed to watch you and play!
Haha Ryan. I feel honoured. ;) Glad you liked it!
A passion, for making people learn, in you is so very dominant. learnt quite well from these videos.
O.K. I'm starting this behind everyone else. Over 70's c'mon, remember our coffee bar days, I'm doing it!
I like watching you teach! You look like you really enjoy this! You're a man who puts his heart and soul into it. Love it.
Thanks so much Eddie. I do enjoy creating these videos. Glad you're getting something out of them!
Eddie T You right! He is a really great teacher 👌
Day 6 learning piano and I LOVE THIS!
Love your teaching! I love Boogie Woogie!
There are a lot of BW tuition on uTube - yours are the best i.e. patient, easy, step-by-step. A BW beginner's dream!
This is the best explanation by far on RUclips, and I have literally searched for hours through so many long-winded and unclear videos. By far the best teacher! Thank you!
There are literally hundreds of videos online and no one has broken it down like yours. Well done mate! On the first left hand pattern, one easy way that I found to bring it into the rhythm is to play it with my fifth, second and first fingers in such a way as my hand swings when I play each combination; swing backwards with finger 5 and 2 for C+G and swing forward with finger 5 and 1 for C+A. Very difficult pattern indeed and took me almost 10 days to find the best way to play it. That’s how I play it with fingers rather than arm! And don’t bother moving with the right hand before you could easily and comfortably play the 12 bars of blues.
Thanks for that extra camera shot. I have a bad habit of typing hard on my laptop (aggressive) and seem to do the same on the piano. Also, I loved seeing you do the 5th and 6th with just your thumb and not index and thumb. Gave me validation as I've seen others do it and didn't want bad habits. It feels better to me just using my thumb.
Josef, really terrific....and long overdue! You have opposition but where you really score is patience and attention to detail. I look forward to more BW LH patterns.
This is very complicated for a beginner like me, but you broke it down very clearly! Thank you so much. :)
You are my Teacher! Super! I am trying to repeat all day today your lesson ! Thank you!
Your sheet music for Indiana Jones, with the rests, eighth-notes and parallel treble and bass staffs, is teaching me to read music in addition to learning the keystrokes. Greatly expands the experience.
We love you so so much sir
Love you too.
This is magic.
Thank you sooooo much👍
Wow, it is great playing, thanks for sharing. Stay safe. Stay
I’m a beginner I like the way you do that thank you.
Very Informative. Thanks God Bless.
Sir thanks for left hand pattern very nice

Thanq somuch bro......amazing explanation I learn&enjoyed
great blues lesson, love the blues. More please!
Sure. I have a few planned. Did you grab the upgrade vid? link in the info box.
Loved this, took me back to my childhood listening to my Dad belting out Boogie Woogie. So Jo,would you consider if you have time doing one of your excellent step by step breakdowns of Red River Rock,it sounds very boogie woogieish to me.Thanks for the video and the inspiration.
Wonderful teaching josef
Great teaching technique love it. Thank you.
Very good lesson. Thanks
It is so helpful to see how simple chord evolves. Thank.
very good video, learning fast! Thanks a lot.
Hi Josef, Excellent video. Thanks so much. I will definitely give this a go.
Brilliant Brian. Realy glad you liked it
I learned a lot from your teaching
Love the video. I got the basic chords, now I have to play like you. Thank you for sharing
You mean I have to get the right hand going as well after this!
Seriously though, this is good stuff. I just played this and it sounds great. Thank you.
You are a great teacher. Loved it.
Hmmm, I was watchign another boogie woogie video and the guy played the first BW left hand pattern with 5, 2 and 1 fingers while you are doing it 5 and shuffling your 1. Why do you prefer your way? Is it easier, or faster? Are there any historical video recordings?
Great question. Answer - I don't prefer it and i swap between both fingering methods on a whim. Try both and see what works for you. Arguably the thumb shuffle 'could' give you more options for different boogie chops but really have at it and see what works for you.
I saw one like that too and was going to ask. I think moving the thumb as a beginner seems easier to me at this stage.
Thanks I will try all the patterns when I get my piano
Great video! Thanks
Great teacher, thank you. Now I just have to practice it.
Yep, practice and then more practice. Let me know how you get on.
Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Dude I plan to learn that song.. And I believe I can do that.. I will keep you updated... Thanks a million
Well, how is it?
Thank you very much.
Amazing Quality video. Thank you so much. You should really stick up a patreon so I can pay for the time.
I would recommend playing the C-G chop with you’re index on the G and you’re thumb on the A, it’s harder but once you get used to it, it allows you to play much quicker without messing up as often
Thank you! I've already learned the fingering with using index on the G, it's tedious relearning fingerings!
ya, if you actually play boogie, the index on the g and thumb on the a is bulletproof. zero moving fingers. plus you can play at any speed. you can only fumble your thumb back and forth so fast and only for so long. this is actually not doing anyone any favors regarding the chop.
Yep that’s the way I teach it in my tutorials too.
thank you so much!!!!
Merci. J'ai prévu d'être un dieu du boogie woogie d'ici une trentaine d'années. Votre vidéo m'est d'un grand secour. Lets practice.
Bonne chance !
Just came across your channel; such great content! Thanks for sharing your passion. Can't wait for more boogie woogie action!
Haha, glad you like the channel. I have a few other boogie woogie things on the way.
the best explanation :-) thanks a lot
… a small note (pun intended), since the 50s when Sister Magnacarta would hit my hands with a ruler in 2nd grade, I have never been able to focus on the piano because of the need to do two things at once. God forbid understanding chords. I’ve played many types of woodwinds, (from C melody tenor to Eb Sopranino saxophones) but I could never grasp the piano, until now … at 75 with your videos and a GREAT piano. For those struggling, I suggest an acoustic piano like my 1949 Acrosonic Baldwin. When the room rings with your left hand, the music has begun. Love studying piano this way.
awesome lesson
Tqvm
Best channel for beginners as wel as advanced students / artists :) Loving ur videos man!! :)

👍🎶
This is so helpful, Thank you!
thanks its nice
good stuff!
Hey Jo! is this the only place you have these exercises published? Did a subscription to your website, but just wondering if there's a playlist that is like a piano course
Hey. Yeah, the piano course I have released right now is on practice routines and teaches you how to practice, goal oriented etc. and overcome your own personal struggles on the piano. I've had really good feedback on it and you can see more info about it here - members.creativepianoacademy.com/cpr
Its really good actually because you can use the structure and slot in any exercise on youtube to get way more out of them.
Glad you liked this vid anyway and keep up the good work!
great clip Lee
I really want to learn to say “Boogie Wookiee” the way you do 😂
Sounds like he's from Yorkshire. ep up mek a brew bluddy ell
Is that what they play in Star Wars?
When you’re doing the C-E-G-A-Bflat, is it ok to crossover with your pointer finger fo the Bflat? It feels much more natural.
Hi Josef, Love the right hand pattern for this.Sounds great!!Well it does when you play it anyway.Got to say trying this with both hands is a proper brain twister.David.
Superb. It couldn't be any better unless you added pole dancers.
Thanks!
What and how do you play with right hand.....I know you're great...thankyou
Could you please do a tutorial on how to do the boogie woogie face?
Only thing I can say is : W O W !!!
Don't try to lay no boogie woogie on the king of rock and roll
Thank you. Can you Show right hand pattern too ?
yeah man, check the link in the info box or click the card. You need to sign up to my email list to grab it.
Хорошо! Очень хорошо! Понятно, даже несмотря на языковой барьер. Если бы видео было разбито на главы, было космически прекрасно))) не думали над этим?
Hi Josef,DO you possibly have any more right hand patterns for the boogie woogie/12 bar bluesy,in my opinion you are partly responsible for my addiction,so surely you must help to feed my addiction??
For the first hand pattern - I used to use my thumb between the G and A notes. Then I watched another video and demonstrator on the video used index finger on G and thumb on A.
It took awhile to get used to, but it’s now natural. My question is: should I go back to just using my thumb between the two notes? Is either one more beneficial in the long run?
One is not more beneficial than the other imo. I use and switch between both.
IMO, playing the chop with index+thumb is less fatiguing AND more accurate for when you are concentrating on the right hand stuff. Nothing moves.... The only time I would still use thumb on 5th and 6th would be if there were lots of notes in the pattern between the 1st and 5th that need lots of fingers(like pinetop boogie bass maybe) or I was setting up for like a chromatic fill for a transition etc. I agree that being comfortable with both is probably a good idea to give you more playing options. BOOGIE ON! edit: I think I would do pattern 3 with thumb and index since I would also slide my finger down off the e flat onto the e, so I would have spare fingers to use one for the 5th and thumb for the 6th
Wat would the fingering be if you played the second pattern in D?
I have a big problem when I hear Boogie-Woogie. My smile muscles start getting an extra workout.
✌️👍👍👍👍
Many other tutorials use the index finger on all three patterns. And you take the thumb. Why?
No specific reason. Just preference. I flick between both fingering methods and some students prefer one over the other. Do what feels best to you.
@@Creativepianoacademy Thanks. Greetings from Bavaria in Germany.
Am just about to buy my first keyboard so don't go anywhere, please!
I clicked on the link for the right hand video, and no video found on next page. Bummer.
Thanks a lot sir, I have been your study silent student, I wish to ask how I can do to full engaged in your studies. For a certified document at the end. I await your response sir

Why using 3 fingers?? U have 5....
Ido it so: 5 on C, 4 on Eb, 3 on E, 2 on G and finally 1 on A...Is it wrong???
Yes, it should be 5/2-5/1. I did it the way he does it for a long time and it took a while to unlearn his nasty habit.
His fingering is wrong. I suggest that you find another lesson with a different teacher. This will tie you up later on. It will form bad habits that you will have to unlearn. Keep doing it the way you are and you will find it easy to change key. There are good and bad everything, including piano teachers. Good luck.

Your link to right hand play doesn't work. After email comes, I respond press link. Page is blank. Nothing comes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️👎👎 This guy does not know the correct way, rather he only knows part of the left hand. This style of music originates from the days of the cowboys in the 1870s. It’s actually a style of music from the Wild West that should have the rhythm and speed of riding a horse a walking speed. Then over time it was played faster and faster which eventually gives us the boogie Woogie music we hear today.
This guy has a really nice touch.
The teacher is a very good one for beginners that can not get on with music if you are so great at playing why are you bothered with this fantastic lesson so keep your none helpful comments facebook
I didn,t know General Patton played the boogie woogie.
Why are you using your thumb for both the g and the a key? I always used my index for the g and the thumb for the a key.
If you would arch your hand just a bit you would be able to play the G with your index finger.
your site does not respond to input stimuli. It does not return an email with a video. It does not respond at all. I hope you can fix this.
Hi Kurt. sorry about that. I've been receiving emails today so I can't find anything immediately wrong however do you have ad-blocker on? sometimes this interferes with the pop-up. If not, let me know and i'll see what I can do. Do try a different browser also. Thx.
