On my wife's car, it didn't have sensors when we got it. I ordered sensors from ebay for less that $50. I used my tire machine to press the tire down on the area next to the sensor and installed them. I put the wheels back on and just reset the TPS monitor system and it worked. This car doesn't display the tire pressure, though. It just lets you know when to check the tire pressure. Which it started doung this on the right rear. Sometimes when driveing, as I park it, the check tire correct pressure notification comes on as I turn the car off. So I guess the battery is going dead already. It's only been a couple years since I put them on.
So when you got the car, did it have warning messages for low tyre pressure? Interesting that you didn’t need to program the sensors into the system, good work though 👍 My sensors were the original ones on a 2018 car, so it looks like they lasted about 6yrs. Cheers, Phil
It had the flat tire symbol on the dash, because it didn't have sensors. For some reason, I have not been able to reply directly to your reply. I kept getting an error message.
yes, no probs! Unfortunately all of the sensors I have come across are sealed units with no way to access the battery ☹ Sorry, disposable society problem again...
Unfortunately there is no simple answer to this. I haven’t tried myself, so can’t speak from experience but on Merc forum, some are saying just fit the wheels and if they have Merc sensors, they will learn into your system automatically. Others say that is only if the wheels you bought are for the same model etc. All I can say is give it a try and if no luck, you can swap your existing sensors into the wheels. Sorry I couldn’t be more help! Cheers, Phil
It’s actually the tire pressure sensor which is in the valve stem but as you can see, the dashboard warning says “wheel sensor missing” but as you say, the wheel speed sensor that does the abs etc is a different sensor. At least on this car anyway. Early tyre pressure monitoring systems did use the wheel speed sensor.
Hi, on newer MB cars, if you have bought genuine OEM sensors then there is a chance you can reset the system to make it work. Here is a forum post about it, look for a photo of the instructions in the thread: mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-amg/828375-how-program-new-tpms-tires.html If you bought Autel or another after market brand of sensor then usually you need to get them programmed. Hope that helps! Cheers, Phil
ha ha! Yes, tell me about it! TPMS, run flat tyres, lane departure warnings, that weird auto braking thing, flashing blind spot mirror lights, I could go on!
I’m sorry, I’ve no idea how to change it or even if it can be changed on your car. The temperature is handy but in the meantime, adjust a reset your system first thing on a morning and you should be good to go. 👍 cheers, Phil

Great Video. BTW I loved your accent.
Thank you! Cheers, my accent is a weird Anglo-American mix! 😁
Thanks for the video
May I ask why not just replace the battery in the sensor

Is there a way to get wheels that used to be on a E-class with TPMS to work with the system on a C-class without dismount the rim and tire?

Is this for the wheel speed sensor or the tire pressure sensor?
