One vital aspect of the Albanian culture is our hospitality. Hospitality is also part of the Kanun and it’s that ancient code of conduct that makes us a very hospitable people. If you ask most Albanians about their home they will tell you that they have a room in their homes special for guests , and when a guest is honoring their homes by just being there as a guest , we must treat them as you would treat a King or Queen . Not a lot of people know about that aspect of Albanians. It’s sad that we get a bad rep for being violent, we are much more than that .

I actually had a blood forgiven.
What happened is that a cousin of mine threatened to kill some people, went home to find a gun, but they killed him instead, so we were sort of waiting, because we are suddently in a bloodfeud, so we, actually *i* should go revenge him.
Fortunately, the other family reached to my uncle and basically said: "Look, the guys are going to jail for murder, and we are sorry this happened, but remember, your guy came to kill our guys with a gun... there is no reason for us to have a feud... forgive the blood and let's move on!"
My uncle agreed so that's why I am not a criminal behind bars or dead now, or blocked into my house, because you never attack the house, there are women and children there, but if you step out, well...! And i am someone that just has some parking tickets on his name!
    This is something serious!

Great for bringing this up. I actually thought of this theorem way before, and i have discussed it with many of my family members and friends. Albanians brought the Vendetta to Italy, and you would ask why? Because you don't see Vendettas in any other place of Italy, except for those that lived close or together with Albanians/Arberesh people. Statistically speaking (im obsessed with numbers), code of honor, respecting the elderly, and Vendettas that we see in Italian movies are pure copies of the Albanian culture that has been "cultivated" for centuries.

The practice of the oral laws that Lekë Dukagjini codified in the Kanun was suggested by Edith Durham as dating back to the Bronze Age.[22] Some authors have conjectured that the Kanun may derive from ancient Illyrian tribal laws.[23] Other authors have suggested that the Kanun has retained elements from Indo-European prehistoric eras.[24]
However several stratifications can be easily observed in the code, beginning with pre-Indo-European, Indo-European, Ancient Greek, Ancient Roman, general Balkan and Osmanli.[25]

I didn't understand the love My People have for each other until I was out on my own. By God's grace I ended up moving next door to an older couple who happened to be Albanian and just the chances of them living right next door to me still blows me away to this day. I say this because it doesn't make sense for any Albanian to be out where I live at, let alone someone like them who still seem fresh off the boat.
I interact with all my neighbors and they told me they had never seen them interacting with anyone until I moved next door to them.
I can always tell when someone is Albanian, always. I can see the structure of their face and their mannerisms and spot them from a distance but some of us have more ambiguous physical characteristics because of how we look amongst other Americans. A lot of Albanians have darker features, dark hair, dark eyes, and a complexion similar to Italians or Greeks and then you have the other ones like me who are fair skinned, blue/grey eyes with blonde/red hair tones but when I asked them if they were Albanian, they asked me where I was from immediately, in Albanian of course.
When I responded, they both hugged me and to this day, they treat me like their own son. She brings me fresh bread almost every week, stuffed peppers, beef stew, and you name it. The love Albanians have for each other is so beyond anything I have ever experienced in my entire life, especially the love for their children, which is how this older couple sees me as.
I'm so proud of my culture and maybe these blood feuds aren't something to be proud of but when an Albanian makes a promise, they always keep it.

The main focus of the Kanun was to prevent Crime from happening and to prevent bloodshed. It indicates how matters shall be handled in any circumstances.
If someone kills a person, only the first 24 hours are fair game to kill any member of the clan of the killer and not be accounted for, because it is an understandabe rage of the family of the victim. After that the family of the killer calls the "Pleqesia" which is a gathering of the Heads of all the biggest families in the Area. They invite both parties to discuss what happened and what decisions shall be taken and more often than not a solution is reached.
One solution is to be payed by blood, in this case the family of the killer have the right to renounce the killer from the klan, take his weapon and and send him away, in this case the blood feud is closed because the family of the victim has to kill only the killer directly if he dies, his blood will not be revenged.
Another way is to pay for the blood of the victim, to pay means, the whole klan has to give to the family of the victim all their money, land and animals. They have to move to a far location only with their clothes on and to burn their homes before leaving.
Another way is for the family of the killer, to take their first newborn male baby in carrycot (djep) and leave it upside-down in the doorstep of the family of the victim. By doing so the feud is stopped because the family of the victim now has two choices, welcome the baby and thay can raise the baby as one of their own and by doing so they are even, or they do not open the door and the baby dies and again, now are even.
This is only the tip of the iceberg of the Kanun, it is very complicated and very strict but the main focus is not to kill but on how to fix something that already happened and prevent from happening again.
Actually the Kanun of Leke Dukagjini is way older than Leke Dukagjini himself. It was transmitted from generation to generation by word. Leke Dukagjini was the first to write it down.

Arnold Rothstein ) ( Lucky Luciano etc) the arbereshe italian crime families work by their codes of Besa ( omerta`) and Kanun" the old ancient tribal laws , blood feuds and codes of honour etc.. during italian history ..Italian unification ,( Garibaldi 1861) politics and circumstances over the centuries took the shape of organised criime. Italian crime families do not operate outside of the blood family...!! Italian mafia history .which already started over two thousand years ago with the ancient blood feuds of Albania. ! has nothing to do with mexicans cartel history.. totally different history. ! Italian / Arbereshe ( Albanian catholic ethnic minorities of the 15th century who settled in southern Italy during ottoman invasion of the balkans) Mexicans have not much to do with belonging to a family .. but are a cartels /ex military - government based crime organisations.. etc...

Kanun did not appear in the 14th century, in the 14th century it was summarized and written on sheets by Lek Dukagjini, the origin of the Kanun is from the Pelasgians which has been inherited from generation to generation.
It was the constitution of the Albanians and one of the rules was BESA.
The Arbëresh went to Italy as a hero and the then king gave them the land in gratitude as he was a friend of Skanderbeg and after George's death his wife and son (Donika and Gjon) were transferred to the Kingdom of Italy.
I say "there is not and will not be a more perfect constitution than the Kanun".🇦🇱🇦🇱

This blood furs went on for a couple years and they kept trying to kill my father cause he had my great grand fathers name, that family eventually left the village....... that shit is FORREAL

You misunderstood something. The Romans called the country Illyria, and the people there, Illyrians. It was actually a group of tribes, but for the Romans, they were Illyrians. The Romans described them as huge, wild, unyielding warriors, with incredible courage.
Well, now comes the interesting part. The Dinaric Alps are home to the tallest people in the world, taller and bigger even than the Dutch.
These are now the following nations: Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia. Those same nations were YUGOSLAVIA until 1991. They all have an IDENTICAL GENETIC STRUCTURE. All those nations have one gene that is at least 16,000 years old, the DINAR GENE. , that is "I 2a DINARIK --- it is correctly written I2a DIN . That's why everyone (men) has an average height greater than 182cm.The Dutch are in first place in the world with 183.6 cm, and Montenegro is in second place with 183.2 cm.
However, they are even higher on the mountains themselves. The average height of the Drobnjak tribe from Montenegro is 185.6 cm.
there are historical figures (Petar II Petrović Njegoš - 207 cm, the most beautiful and significant Montenegrin, Serbian Orthodox bishop of Montenegro and the hills, head of Old Montenegro and the Hills from 1830 to 1851, writer and philosopher. He is one of the greatest Serbian poets and philosophers .)
Stefan Uroš IV Dušan Nemanjić, better known as Dušan Silni, height 214 cm, (1308-1355)....etc...etc...Back then, people from that time were 10-15 cm shorter than today. Just imagine how tall Njegoš and Dušan would be today...??? People at that time were significantly shorter than today....
For example, I am 194 cm tall and weigh 105.3 kg, that is 6' 4" height, weight 232 lbs. I am originally from Montenegro.
Albanians have an average height of 176 cm, that is, they are 10 cm shorter than Dinars.
Albanians are among the shortest people in Europe, and Montenegrins, who are their neighbors, are the tallest people in the world.
However, this is normal, since Albanians come from the Caucasus (Caucasian Albania), where people are identical in appearance and height.
ALBANIANS CLAIM THEMSELVES TO BE ILLIRIAN. THEY REFUSE THE FACT THAT THEY ARE ORIGINAL FROM THE CAUCASUS.
The truth is the following, in short...
Caucasian Albania (300-826 years), disappeared as a state, occupied, the Arab Emir takes them as auxiliary units in the war with Byzantium in Sicily (Italy). Before that they were in Syria (826-836). They fought in Sicily (836-1043), for a full 210 years, they lost the war, they were taken as auxiliary units by the Byzantine commander George Maniak for the civil war in Byzantium, he took them to Thessaloniki (Greece), died on the way, the Caucasian Albanians landed on the shores of DUKLJA ( Montenegro), they promise to stay temporarily with DUKLJANS and PRINCE VLADIMIR, but they BREAK THE AGREEMENT AND STAY FOREVER. Later, the Ottoman Turks occupied Duklja, and in 1920 Duklja was liberated after the defeat of the Ottoman Turks.
Conclusion: Illyrians are SLAVIC by origin (Serbs, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia) and Albanians are by origin a TURKISH PEOPLE FROM THE CAUCASUS. (today Azerbaijan and Dagestan).
I could tell you about the evidence for days, but I don't have time.....
Albanians are opportunists. They just steal, steal, steal ...History, Culture of the People, Territories, ...Perpetrated CULTURAL GENOCIDE OVER MONTENEGRO AND SERBIA AND MACEDONIA AND GREECE ... RENAMED TOPNAMES, CHURCHES AND MONASTERIES IN THE MENTIONED COUNTRIES, (stole 2150 Monasteries and churches In Serbia, on the territory of Kosovo and Macedonia, they stole monasteries and churches on the territory of Montenegro (Duklja), renamed them all. Their greatest hero who freed them was SKENDERBEG, the Montenegrin lord who held EPIR, (today's Albania / GREECE) they claim that he is an Albanian , and he was a Montenegrin, of the Orthodox faith, wrote in Cyrillic, "FAMILY GLORY DAY - SAINT GEORGE .... That is also my glory, since only SERBS and MONTENEGRO in the world have a family glory day. (check in Wikipedia: Saint George Kill The Dragon .... It's an icon that hangs in every Serbian and Montenegrin house.
SAINT GEORGE is a STATE HOLIDAY IN ALBANIA, INDEPENDENCE AND LIBERATION DAY.
And to finish, those brave warriors you are talking about, are not Albanians, but SLAVS, MORE SPECIFICALLY SERBIANS -MONTENEGRO , the tallest people in the world....and DUCH people, of course (sorry, I almost forgot the Dutch)...
If you like UFC, the former heavyweight champion is a CROAT by origin and from HERZEGOVINA-DALMATIAN named STIPE MIOČIĆ (193cm / 110kg). That's a brave Dinaric warrior, not a cowardly Albanian dwarf.
Novak Djokovic is another example for you...etc...etc...
Conclusion: don't believe fairy tales and everything written on the internet, especially not the internet....

The term kanun comes from the Greek "κανών" ("canon"), meaning amongst others "pole" or "rule"[6] and was transported from Greek to Arabic and then into early Turkish.[7] It must have been divulgated during the Ottoman rule.[8] It was so randomly used that when something was legal it was said "it's kanun",[9] and when it wasn't legal, "the kanun doesn't give it". The consuetudinary law was called "kanun".[10]
