Yes, please, on the hybrids. And we are not bitching about the hybrids because the classic releases are so few and far between we are ok with anything that gives the 80s and 90s vibes. When we get spoiled for choice then we all start whining.
These are cool, it's good to see Reebok trying to get back to their roots. I still have a couple of pairs from the Pump line, including an old inflator from the Insta Pump series. Thanks for another entertaining video from Weartesters.
I was really hyped when I first saw these and doubled up right away. This shoe comes really close to my imaginary, non existing dream basketball sneaker. I'll wear them until they fall apart.
On first sight I thought something looked off... the ERS bubble was missing on the heel of the outsole!!! If they ever release the OG twilight zone in the white/neon yellow-green (almost like volt) with ERS I would definitely grab them. Yes, the OGs had the bladder around the entire foot, I wore these in grade 9 in my first year of varsity HS basketball.
The originals came out when I was in 5th grade and the ERS was so interesting to me. I know it was a reaction to Nike and visible air so I was like.... what is that thing? how does it work? what is it made up of? Ended up getting the Bo Jacksons that year for school.
Reebok also brought back The Blast alongside these; would love to see a video on those too! As a UK-based sneakerhead, I feel like I might be one of the few British people who appreciates both of these!
Part of me wants to pick these up, part of me doesn’t. I like what reeboks have been doing with retros as far as quality, but I’m just in the middle about these. Still a great looking shoe, great review and like that you pointed out the difference in leather on the shoe

Reebok, it's like the company has amnesia and forgot they were the top sneaker company during the 80s and a chunk of the 90s cause they didn't back down in design and advertising. I completely agree with you on real Hexalite. I have the same feelings about React Juice and Fila 2A and adidas FYW, etc. its just not the same w/o it. it sucks that theres no incentive for any of these companies to bring back retro tech in real form. its a ton of added cost for a VERY niche customer base that knows the difference. every time a retro is released it makes me a little sad. I miss the days of incredible leather, suede, nubuck etc on all the kicks. late 80s and 90s was unmatched. every company was competing so hard with tech and materials to drool over. I know its never coming back but dang that stuff was amazing. it really was a different experience even picking up a shoe off the shelf and feeling the textures and the smell of the leather. obviously they cant do it anymore bc global demand is too high and its way cheaper to use synthetics/PU coated leathers for consistency. also the shoes would probably cost $300-400 for that level of material quality and innovation. I never had more than one new pair at a given time and could never get the most expensive models, but the pairs I did have were amazing and unforgettable.

I still have a few pair's of the blacktop from when they brought it back in 2004. There's no difference between the retro and the OG. They were still using the same pump mechanisms in 04 and it was real hexalite too.

Der Duft der neuen sneaker hat mich gleich gehabt - heute riecht man was man bekommt - in den meisten Fällen GAR NICHTS - zumindest nicht viel im Vergleich zur Primetime ✌️
They look cool but the tongue looks too small, no ERS and the midsoles look aged which I'm not a fan of. Quality of the leather on the recent releases has been pretty nice imo. The leather on the new Iverson pumps looks nice too, hope to see a review from you guys. Thanks for the video, The Pump was my shoe in the '90s and it's pretty rad seeing em back in action with quality releases, just keep em OG, pleeeease Reebok.

Considering 80s/90s retro stuff is popular I’m not sure why peeps are sleeping a bit on Pumps. I feel if Reebok actually got a bit aggressive again with their marketing they would probably do quite well….. maybe Adidas owning them has something to do with it. Oh and Forum highs all day too!
Adidas sold them last year to an investment group, partly owned by Shaq. So, hopefully...🤞 they get back into basketball. In my opinion, they could use updated cushioning on the classics like the pumps. Floatride on a Twilight or Blacktop pump 🤔. Would be good to start

Chris, as a huge Reebok pump fan I'm pretty furious that they've done away with the ers. I was hoping for a true to OG with the correct height, full foot air bladder and hytrel tubes. I've been buying pumps for 33 year's and it has been infuriating to see the decline of Reebok over the year's. The retros from that early to mid 2000s period are probably the best we'll ever get.
I agree. It's been disheartening to see Reebok getting left out of things but the internet and the media outlets that take paid promo over actual sneaker content have rewritten history to make Nike and Jordan seem like they've always been the cool kids rather than the underdog that had to go head to head with the giants like Reebok and adidas. Then the sale to adidas didn't do them any favors. But I'm hopeful that given some time we see them fix the issues in the same way we see Jordan Brand doing it. They just need someone that can balance passion, integrity with business logistics.
@@WearTesters yeah, I always thought Adidas buying Reebok was a bad idea. I'm guessing they put the squeeze on them after the financial crisis of 08. I noticed a sharp decline in Reebok during that 08/09 period. That's when they stopped using real hexalite and when they started using inferior pump mechanisms/bladders. I'm really not happy about them getting rid of the ers in the new twilight zone's. Even if it wasn't real hytrel tubes anymore, it was still a great look. I've seen pictures of the new neon cherry twilight zone's about to release and I'll be buying them, but under protest, lol. If it wasn't for the fact that I've been waiting 30+ year's for that colourway I wouldn't be buying them. I've been wanting Reebok to retro the cxt pumps, but no doubt they would be ruined too because they originally had ers. I wish Reebok would retro the sxt and omni zone 3 & 4 also. Maybe even the Reebok pump 2 hi. That's probably just wishful thinking, lol. That pump 2 hi would probably be hella expensive to manufacture.
Man reading these comments about the OG Reebok’s from early 90’s takes me back to my elementary days on the playground during recess. Lots of hooping memories from elementary, pumping my Reeboks up like I was Dee Brown in the NBA dunk contest! 🏀😂🤣 Good times!!!
I'm 44 years old. I had the original Reebok Reverse Jams (2 pairs), Blacktops, Kamikaze II, Reebok hikers with Hexalite, all from back in the 90's and Hexalite was always trash. It would come apart inside the shoe, it would seperate from the upper and lower clear plastic membrane, it was too thin to ever provide any real cushioning. The best would have to have been the Kamikaze II's as they made Ultra Hexalite at that time and moved it from the very bottom of the sole where it did no good at all to directly under the heel where it provided some squish. It also had forefoot hexalite in it but that seperated inside the shoe. I would dissect my shoes back in the day (like most idiots back then) to see what the technology was like. Excluding the Kamikaze II's the hexalite was always this tiny square that didn't even cover the majority of the heel. The Kamikaze II's provided a rather large square which covered more area. All in all I was always disappointed with Hexalite it was pure propaganda and when it was out of the shoe you couldn't even tell it was gone (excluding the Kamikaze II's again). Just my own personal experience having grown up with Hexalite and having several pairs over the years. The pump was great though!
Yeah, I've got a real issue with the fake hexalite stuff, it feels so cheap and nasty. Hexalite was such good cushioning. Whatever this other stuff is, it doesn't perform. Less models, bigger numbers, actual hexalite. Profit.
Very classic just bought another pair of these had them in the 90s definitely nostalgic feels great on the foot quality leather not bulky I love them so I own omni zone now have these back as well I'm old school so the high top version doesn't bother me I also own the nike command force n those are very high I'm glad these came back thank you humbly wear tester for reviewing them I rock with y'all keep the vids coming my brother

The Reebok site has had some terrible colorway selection for Omnizone 2's, idk if it's changed but they had two white/blue/red models, just that one also hard orange accents... Then they add this really cool and 90's looking but kinda niche one with like gray, purple and teal, I appreciate that but where the hell are the basics?
I remember that original leaflet in the box back in 1991!! With the bright Yellow Twilight Zones in the front. I had the Omni Zone ones in the back of the picture with the purple eye stays. I remember being gutted when the polyurethane midsoles turned to dust ☹☹
Would be awesome if they would just retro pumps as it was back in the day (ie with REAL Hexalite or REAL ERS), cmon Reebok do it right and do it properly please! Whilst I have still bought the Omni Zone and the Twilight Zone models, nothing would top these models off better than to make them as they were originally back in the late 80's and early 90's. Non working pump and fake Hexalite just feels half way there and incomplete.
Why can't Reebok revive a model from the past but have the pump feature working? It is the defining feature of the shoe. I have recently purchased a pair of TZ's. The pump doesn't work. I asked the shop where I bought it from to go through their stock and send me a pair that worked. None of them worked. I had a pair of pumps over 35 years ago. The pump always worked back then. I think now they just use cheaper crap components. Very disappointing. Reebok used to be quality, now it is garbage!
Until Shaq and his new team puts some actual tech back into their shoes, I can't support them..... I haven't bought a Reebok since the Kamakizee 2 in 97 because they sucked. And I want Above the Rim Reebok back!!!!!!

I was gonna buy these but wanted varied colours. So I got the Omni zone 2 in white, mint green and purple but they just aren’t as cool and stable as the Blacktop Sneakers. The Pump doesn’t pump up, the mids don’t give the support of the highs and the leather looks water logged from opening :/
It sucks that retros and remakes like these are nowhere near as comfortable as i remember og's being. And it would've been dope if they had that little ERS pod on the back of the midsole. Either way im still feeling Reebok.

The one Reebok that I really wish they'd retro/release is the DMX Lite running shoe from 1999. Hands down the most comfortable shoe I've ever owned.

Man reading these comments about the OG Reebok’s from early 90’s takes me back to my elementary days on the playground during recess. Lots of hooping memories from elementary, pumping my Reeboks up like I was Dee Brown in the NBA dunk contest! 🏀😂🤣 Good times!!!
I'm 44 years old. I had the original Reebok Reverse Jams (2 pairs), Blacktops, Kamikaze II, Reebok hikers with Hexalite, all from back in the 90's and Hexalite was always trash. It would come apart inside the shoe, it would seperate from the upper and lower clear plastic membrane, it was too thin to ever provide any real cushioning. The best would have to have been the Kamikaze II's as they made Ultra Hexalite at that time and moved it from the very bottom of the sole where it did no good at all to directly under the heel where it provided some squish. It also had forefoot hexalite in it but that seperated inside the shoe. I would dissect my shoes back in the day (like most idiots back then) to see what the technology was like. Excluding the Kamikaze II's the hexalite was always this tiny square that didn't even cover the majority of the heel. The Kamikaze II's provided a rather large square which covered more area. All in all I was always disappointed with Hexalite it was pure propaganda and when it was out of the shoe you couldn't even tell it was gone (excluding the Kamikaze II's again). Just my own personal experience having grown up with Hexalite and having several pairs over the years. The pump was great though!

Yeah, I've got a real issue with the fake hexalite stuff, it feels so cheap and nasty. Hexalite was such good cushioning. Whatever this other stuff is, it doesn't perform. Less models, bigger numbers, actual hexalite. Profit.

Very classic just bought another pair of these had them in the 90s definitely nostalgic feels great on the foot quality leather not bulky I love them so I own omni zone now have these back as well I'm old school so the high top version doesn't bother me I also own the nike command force n those are very high I'm glad these came back thank you humbly wear tester for reviewing them I rock with y'all keep the vids coming my brother

Gave up on Reebok over a decade ago. No, thank you. Fake Hexalite, non-working pump system, crap materials, it's just so much that I can take.
I kind of have a feeling that Reebok has an oversupply or stock of tooling laying somewhere and decided to make hybrids using them lmao.
I hope to see more pumps, such a classic that is just getting slept on.
The Reebok site has had some terrible colorway selection for Omnizone 2's, idk if it's changed but they had two white/blue/red models, just that one also hard orange accents... Then they add this really cool and 90's looking but kinda niche one with like gray, purple and teal, I appreciate that but where the hell are the basics?

I remember that original leaflet in the box back in 1991!! With the bright Yellow Twilight Zones in the front. I had the Omni Zone ones in the back of the picture with the purple eye stays. I remember being gutted when the polyurethane midsoles turned to dust ☹☹

Would be awesome if they would just retro pumps as it was back in the day (ie with REAL Hexalite or REAL ERS), cmon Reebok do it right and do it properly please! Whilst I have still bought the Omni Zone and the Twilight Zone models, nothing would top these models off better than to make them as they were originally back in the late 80's and early 90's. Non working pump and fake Hexalite just feels half way there and incomplete.

It is the defining feature of the shoe. I have recently purchased a pair of TZ's. The pump doesn't work. I asked the shop where I bought it from to go through their stock and send me a pair that worked. None of them worked. I had a pair of pumps over 35 years ago. The pump always worked back then. I think now they just use cheaper crap components. Very disappointing.

Until Shaq and his new team puts some actual tech back into their shoes, I can't support them..... I haven't bought a Reebok since the Kamakizee 2 in 97 because they sucked. And I want Above the Rim Reebok back!!!!!!

I was gonna buy these but wanted varied colours. So I got the Omni zone 2 in white, mint green and purple but they just aren’t as cool and stable as the Blacktop Sneakers. The Pump doesn’t pump up, the mids don’t give the support of the highs and the leather looks water logged from opening :/

It sucks that retros and remakes like these are nowhere near as comfortable as i remember og's being. And it would've been dope if they had that little ERS pod on the back of the midsole. Either way im still feeling Reebok.
As someone who doesn't wear high tops casually anymore, it makes me sad to know I shouldn't buy these. These look awesome!
