I wish Adele would go back to doing adventurous songs such as this one. Hard to believe she was only in her early 20's yet she was so musically sophisticated. Yes, Adele, we know you're thin and gorgeous now, but please be reminded of your younger self and make the wondrous musical selections and collaborations you used to make.
Just look at Bacharach''s face during this rendition,he knows just what a truly extraordinary talent this girl is.She is the finest non classical singer of my lifetime, and i'm70 years of age.
+peter feltham If your 70 years of age, then you would be pleased to know that Adele's 1st & greatest influences were Ella & Etta James & Dusty Springfield. She has one of the most unique voices because of these influences although I do know she was also influenced by the Spice Girls.
Her voice has so much R&B weight and layers of vocal colors. Hard to believe she was only in her early 20s here. I actually think she used to be more musically adventurous than she is now.
I loved this song but this version is just stunning, Adele really makes this song her own , her voice is perfectly beautiful . I adore this ,it’s magical ,stunning and absolutely wonderful. ♥️🇬🇧
Ben Ben Ben - when the Beatles tried American R&B they sounded like a garage band - Please Mr Postman? Twist and Shout? Just dreadful - As for Baby It's You best version is the Shirell's but Smith also did a good interpret
My Suzi and I sat together and watched this when it first came out, just a month before we got married, all goosebumps and smiles....fast forward to April 2021 and I'm sitting alone @ 1:10 a.m. watching again. This time without my Suzi who passed away here in the same place we were when we first saw this, my most valiant efforts (and all of the firefighters and paramedics who got here so quickly [Thank You All !] ) made no difference...it was her time to go, God had her on deck and she was up ! As I watch I can recall the our smiles but they're not here now, neither are the goosebumps but it still sounds as good....it had quite a few likes back then, about 200,000, now it's up past 800,000, Good to see it's got substance and a following of 'word of mouth' viewers and fans...but it can't bring my Suzi back, just the memories . . . and they were and always will be >>good ones. : I'
This version doesn’t deviate too much from the Shirelle’s version. She sang beautifully, but many others have done a better cover (the Carpenters, Smith).
The most consistently amazing artist there is. Sounds just as great live as she does on recordings which is the rarest thing in music these days. She was pretty young here and wasn't trying to outshine previous recordings of the song. This was a simple classy tribute, not a new single.
Daniel Shissler Yeah, shirelles version is more fun than beatles. And this is covering the beatles version of "baby it's you". Cover by cover then getting sucks :)
It's a mark of a truly great song that there can be lots of versions, all different and excellent in their own way. I was brought up on the Beatles' and Shirelles' versions, but I just love this by Adele.
+MusicMC1 Just listened to the Smith version. I've never heard it before but I see it charted well in the USA in the 60s. I like it but prefer the softer versions by Adele and the Beatles - but perhaps that's just because I'm acquainted with those versions.
I'm sure the Shirelles and the Beatles would have loved this version and they're all great. I'm lucky to have seen them all as they appeared. A timeless classic.
It's official....Adele is the logical heir to the Dusty Springfield sound....yet she is certainly her own gal! Love you Adele, looking forward to a long, great career for you!
I've loved her since the first time Ive heard her, but this is awesome! I have always loved Burt as well, now ya know how old I am. Still appreciate beautiful music.....
All this time later and I'm still finding great early performances that I had never seen before, wish I had discovered her before 21 came out, she had soul. Wonder if anyone knew she had such superstar potential back then.
Adele is so good with the black vocal style of the 1960s. I did not know that this Motownish tune was Bacharach and David. Burt is old enough to be her grandfather. When she and Burt kissed, it was a bridge across 2 generations. RIP Hal David.
Her voice has so much R&B weight and layers of vocal colors. Hard to believe she was only in her early 20s here. I actually think she used to be more musically adventurous than she is now.
Who can compare Dusty Springfield to any singer out there...she had the most resonance and beauty of any singer I have ever heard in my life and she made you feel...Todays music is different than what came out way back when...you just have to see a progression into something else...trying to remake a Classic is the hardest thing to do...it usually falls flat and sucks...thats what the difference is with Dusty and all the greats compared to today...just take what was then for what it was and today for what it is...they really cannot be compared...
Mr Burt Bacharach your a truly amazing song writer such beautiful amazing lyrics from a truly great song writer...Beautiful....Adele keep singing and writing girl your amazing voice and song writing is truly wonderful
Many, many lonely nights ,roll by, I sit alone at home and cry over you, no matter what they say, what can I do? 'cause Baby It's You. Loving You Still Babe...RIP beloved husband, Edward W. Purvis, jr. (1951-2015)💔
Someone else here commented on the look on Burt Bacharach's face as Adele is singing his tune. Burt's face has the look of absolute delight and wonder as Adele plows thru this song, giving it loads of vocal layers and coloring. Lately I've been wondering what happened to this Adele, she used to be so musically adventurous and bold in her selections and interpretations. I'm almost getting the feel Adele has become complacent as she does her Vegas weekend residency. She's still Adele, but somehow different than the one found here. Simply fantastic here !
Adele é extraordinariamente brilhante!Há muito tempo o mundo carecia de uma voz tão maravilhosa como a dela.Deus permita que ela possa nos dar o privilégio de ouvi-la por muito tempo.Parabéns!
Well, 1) there isn’t many singers like Adele. She’s one of the less than a handful of her generation. And 2) she writes all of her music. She’s a very talented composer
And Burt is sat there thinking girl why weren't u around in the 1960`s your the greatest talent I ever did see , just look at the pure joy on his face he knows there will never be a singer like her again
I think he is thinking how I write all these amazing songs and how all these fantastic amazing top talented people want to sing them. Can't really better that.
Ppl always say Adele is the best singer etc. Adele is a star because she writes brilliant songs. Otherwise she would be in a community gospel choir like all the other non model looks but brilliant singers today. There’s some fantastic singers around - no auto tune, no gimmicks but the record producers don’t give them the time of day.
No one, NO ONE can ever top Gayle McCormick’s version of this song when she was in the group Smith.
RIP The Great Burt Bacharach Februari 8, 2023. His talent is gone, but his songs will remain here forever.
He left us many gifts!

could hear the talent from the first note. she's the best of her generation.
I was thinking just about the same thing.
Her voice has so much R&B weight and layers of vocal colors.

I actually think she used to be more musically adventurous than she is now.
❤❤❤❤
Adele before she was Adele. loved her then , love her now.
Best singer around and old bert made her
Adele should do a record of Bacharach songs.
I think Adele found the heartbreak in this song and delivered it beautifully like the artist she is.
You obviously havent listened to Gyle McCormick! Soulful!
I loved this song but this version is just stunning, Adele really makes this song her own , her voice is
perfectly beautiful . I adore this ,it’s magical ,stunning and absolutely wonderful. ♥️🇬🇧
I suggest you listen to The Beatles version I think is the Best. ☘️
Ben Ben Ben - when the Beatles tried American R&B they sounded like a garage band - Please Mr Postman? Twist and Shout? Just

Love her yes!!!
Beautifully done, however the best cover of this song is the Beatles by a wide margin
He looks positively ecstatic and beautiful playing the piano. His love of making music with his friends was so evident ♥️

Really feel for you Timm, cant believe the hurt you must feel but so glad you have such fond memories.
I’m very sorry for your loss. May the music give you comfort. 💔
So sorry and sending love❤
so sorry for your loss. His love songs bring the past back for a few moments in our head
Adele brought back to life this Shirelles oldie, with a new flavor, love, love, love it! a classic by a classy lady!
Youve got to listen to Gayle McCormick version...soulful and passionate!
Smith has the best version. Soulful rock in 1969!!
This version doesn’t deviate too much from the Shirelle’s version. She sang beautifully, but many others have done a better cover (the Carpenters, Smith).

I totally agree!
Adele singing Baby its you was just amazing rip Burt
The Shirelles version is in my top 10 favorite songs of all time. But listening to this gave me chills so exciting to hear good music, old or new.
Daniel Shissler Yeah, shirelles version is more fun than beatles. And this is covering the beatles version of "baby it's you". Cover by cover then getting sucks :)
Smith has the best version.
Haley Reinhart just released a rendition of "Baby It's You" based on the Smith version. She's a great singer.
@@JeriFarisLabib Smith has the best version. Soulful rock in 1969!!
@@mistermiguel9011 just listened to it! Not as soulful as Smiths. Too sweet for my taste. Listen to Smiths again.
She's great....she really is. I love all the versions though..Smith's is my very favorite of all. But this woman rocks.
Are you serious?this is one of my favorite songs, and I think it sounds gorgeous in her voice.
Have you heard Karen Carpenter's version?
Jus when you think adele can't get any better there she is belting another classic out adele you absolute legend
Adele is incredible, she makes every song better just by singing it.
Fab! Burt only worked with the best singers , all having their own unique style. Music is life 👏💐
Back again , I just love Adele’s performance, this is so special

Smoothly sung, her tone is golden, love the backing also, a great composition of this song.

Wow, What a performance.Just take a look at Burt Bacharach's face to see how much he enjoyed it!
The pleasure he must have got from a top singer singing his compositions and smashing it.
Adele did this song proud.
Adele siempre ha sido tan pero tan perfecta 😍 tiene la voz de un Angel esta mujer, jamas me cansare de escucharla. ❤

Comparing two singers to each other is like comparing two different kinds of fruit to each other...It can be done but WHY BOTHA!???
Burt Bacharach and Adele!! Two icons!
The first time I ever saw her and thought Wow!
This wonderfully amazing woman can simply sing ANYTHING!
she sings so beautifully
I really like Adele her voice is just great.
A beautiful song performed by a great singer, backup singers ala the Shirelles, the composer, and a large orchestra. Can't get much better.
How can ya not have great comments...THIS WOMAN BRINGS BACK BLUE-EYED BRITISH SOUL. No mixing machines here:) What a voice!

Burt Bacharach thank you for your lovely compositions. RIP
Nice version loved it and i also love the Beatles version💙💖
The problem with current singers like Adele is that they don't have composers of Bacharach's caliber to write songs for them anymore.
Well, 1) there isn’t many singers like Adele. She’s one of the less than a handful of her generation. And 2) she writes all of her music. She’s a very talented composer
used to listen to the Carpenter's version of this in the 70's - very different. This is equally fabulous if not a little bit better!
