I had a question about the Formation Audio. If I were to connect the Audio to a power amplifier, and that amplifier had speakers connected to it, would music play from the speakers connected to the amplifier and to the other formation speakers? Would it also work as a sort of preamp with the other legacy or analog systems connected to the audio?
Hi Jackson,. you are correct. If you connect a Formation Audio to a power amplifier (or integrated amplifier) and you had another B&W Formation product like a Wedge or a Flex, you could have the same music coming from both with no latency. You can use the Formation Audio as a pre amp as there is an analogue input as well a a optical input, so you could one analogue and one digital device connected to it.
Hi there, using the B&W Music App or Airplay 2, you can join together other B&W Formations products like the Duo, Wedge & Flex. If you are using the Soundbar you can join other Formation products for music, but not the optical input. If you wanted to create a surround sound system you can have the Soundbar with the Bass and also add two of the Flex speakers for rear surround speakers. Hope this helps!
I don't understand they the Wedge speaker claims it can handle Hi Res audio quality when an iPhone doesn't transmit Hi Res.
The Wedge can handle high resolution when being used via Tidal or music management software like Roon, but you are correct that you cannot via AirPlay

the application is very bad, it constantly turns off, it is impossible to listen to music via AirPlay.
That certainly shouldn't be the case and we would recommend contacting your local B&W dealer to help you with that.
