- Pockets of looting continued at Philadelphia businesses early Thursday morning, including a Fine Wine & Good Spirits store in the Crescentville section.
Police arrested two people near Adams Avenue and East Tabor Road at about 2:30 a.m. after spotting them loading up a car with liquor. The state store was not boarded up.

As someone that works in law enforcement it’s frustrating to arrest people for robbery and theft alone with many other crimes just to see them released with a slap on the wrist. If I could retire I would and I don’t blame the good officers I know that have retired. The courts are broken. It would be nice if we could lock up every habitual criminal in the state of PA. Build three or four new prisons. Have to find communities willing to have a prison. PA currently spends approx. $40K per year per prisoner. Illinois spends approx 37K per prisoner for about 40k prisoners. The issue is not as simple as some seem to think. Prosecutors recommend sentences or plea deals. Jury’s or judges convict people and sentence based on the law. Given everything involved I would not want to be the one deciding who to street and lock up in lot cases. Sometimes they do get it very wrong.
I remember when it was acceptable to have a campaign slogan such as "Tough on Crime." Now it's more like "Don't Worry.. No Jail Time!"

Years ago a guy told me about he and his brother breaking into a pharmacy and stealing a lot of drugs including quaaludes. He said they got real high then drove back by and noticed that no cops had arrived and dove back in for more drugs. Probably in late 70’s or early 80’s

I'm a white guy. I also don't drink. I saw 4 white faces in there, too. Maybe that side of town is all black? I don't know, but we should get together and put these kind of people in jail. When I was a kid, the cops drove around looking for punk ass kids like me, and they would smash you if you lipped off to them. They would beat your ass bad. I think that worked better than what we have now. It's just back then there were no cameras. Everyone still knew though.

Here's a question: Where are all the (black) voices of reason arguing for their OWN communities to stop embracing crime and violence? Where are they? I mean, I can maybe come up with one or two in the whole country! They tend to become famous automatically because they're so rare. Why aren't there more?

Just make the law VERY CLEAR that business owners can use lethal force against looters and bystanders can help business owners with lethal force.

Ten yrs in prison for destruction of property and theft. These children of chaos have nothing to fear. Nothing will happen to them. They can do this as much as they want. Try that in my town and you will be locked up for a very long time! We don`t tolerate crime!
