The Series was Inspirational to me. Michael was a multi-talented and passionate man. He really knew, understood, and was an icon in Television Production, Writing, Directing, and Acting. A George M Cohan without the Songs. Victor was a personal friend of mine. He was staring in the TV show “Carter Country” when I met him at the Palomino Club on a Thursday Night Talent Night. I came in second that night singing “She Believes in Me,” which earned me $50. Victor stood up and took a $50 bill out of his wallet, and instructed the MC to give it to me because he felt I won the contest. From that time on he was a mentor to me. Some people don't live very long after finding out that they have cancer. My grandma lived less than a month. I think she thought she would have six months but she didn't.
2024 I’m watching it. They did a great job! I am agnostic, but I like the idea of showing positive example of behaviours and events. It’s nice that the producers choose to spread good vibes and face the difficulties of life in a series. Just watched some short video, where young boy was bullied. He didn’t stood up for himself because they threaten they will hurt also his grandpa if he will do that. The grandpa on the other hand was in pain after his son death, so he was angry and bitter to the kid because he reminded him of his son. So.. eventually grandpa find out little boy was bullied, and went to stood up for him 💛 He told him how he felt, and apologized for his bitternes and hurtful words. Also, his grandchild help him deal with the bullies in fight. Happy for grandpa and grandson! 🙂 They now can deal with their grief together and appreciate they still have each other 😚
The facts are wrong. The show was cancelled in 1989 and Michael Landon wasn't diagnosed with cancer until April of 1991.That wasn't the reason for the show's cancellation.
The show ended due to the untimely passing of Victor French. Michael Landon had another series in production whose pilot had already aired and had been picked up by the network. Around the time of it's airing Michael Landon was diagnosed with cancer and went downhill rapidly. Although he fought hard he was gone quickly. I know I watched everything he was ever in. When news broke of his death I cried for days unashamedly. He had so much to give and was taken to soon. I wish there were still people like him in entertainment. He was like an angel on earth and I firmly believe he's with the angels in heaven now.
Also Michael Landon didn’t leave the show, the show got canceled on him and only did 13 episodes as producer because he was afraid of rest of episodes going into syndication.

Michael Landon had created a pilot for a new series titled Us. He played the main character. The pilot aired on CBS. This was the first time a show that he had been involved with was not broadcast on NBC. Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, and Highway to Heaven were all NBC TV shows.

The only things in the opening are a sky, Michael Landon walking along a highway, hen Victor French driving a car and stopping and giving Michael a ride. Victor French died a couple of months before the last episode on June 15, 1989, and Michael Landon didn't until July 1, 1991. He was Jewish, not Christian.
Me and my brother used to watch this series and he used to always laugh every time mark would say 'hey I got the stuff!!' Jonathan never ate or drank anything LoL 🤣 one-time Mark bought him an angel food cake. Lmao 🤣 My favorite episode I don't remember all of the storyline I just remember there were these two little boys involved and one of the boys was homeless with his cat Thomas and he was handicapped I believe or disabled in some way and I remember his father was a drunk and everything and he used to beat him and I remember the little boy telling Mark and Jonathan that he would tell his father that he loves him and his father would tell him to shut up and everything like that and I don't remember the storyline really but I just remember later on eventually the boy with the cat Thomas was invited to come live with the little boy and his family.
Without Mark Gordon the show could not work. It was Jonathan Smith and Mark Gordon from the pilot on through five seasons. A great Duo, and not just on this show.
You probably won't believe this but it's true. I loved lhotp and mentioned this to my chief exec. He dropped in on a shoot and they talked about me. I'm kind of the real mcgyver...named after a friend. I had been traveling following my nose and divine insight helping people. After a few more discussions, Micheal stopped lhotp in mid season and started hth based on some of my experiences. When he was diagnosed, they got a hold of me and I told him that if I changed the course of our research, we could probably save him but more of others would die. He responded by saying he would gladly die that they might live. By God's graces, we finished a project we call mind-jars by which a brain could live inside with a virtual world to live in and communicate to us in. He volunteered and was the first candidate, 2 weeks before he died. He lives with us today in his jar. Lifespan in the jar is +500 years. Love you and your courage Mike. Glad to have you onboard. Dr. John (ha)P. Kunze (Hopkins) III. We had a cure a few years later, but are still struggling to produce it.❤️🥰🤗😇,jpk Unbelievable but true.
P.s the opening credits never showed different parts of America..only the flying through clouds and Jonathan walking the road until mark picks him up..facts verse ??? 😂😂😂😂 You got pretty much everything wrong
If my memory serves me correctly Michael Landon directed most of the episodes through out the series. He allowed Victor French to step in and writer Dan Gordon as well to direct various episodes. What a sad ending that must have been for him losing Victor and suddenly knowing he was going to die. He has had such a huge impact on my life from Highway to heaven.

Michael Landon was NOT a devout Christian ! He was constantly Drunk and smoked 4 packs of cigarettes a day. The Bible says that you will know them by their Fruits. The Bible also says NOT to be a drunkard. He could have gone to rehabilitation or AA, but he chose to stay drunk
I don't know if I would go as far to say that he was not a Christian. However the show itself did not mention Jesus very much. It had an all roads lead to God kind of feel. I loved the positivity of the show, but I was concerned with the lack of Jesus. It makes it a bit misleading. Then I remember, it is just a television show. It is not the way to Salvation, the Bible prayer and fasting are much better tools to seek one's own salvation.
Such a good series but got so preachy about nuclear power... considering at this point its the most environmentally friendly form of power production 🤔 compared to coal, gasification, and even solar, its only surpassed by hydroelectric
He may had problems in his real life but it was an isperational show with good moral values. A lot better than the crap today. Remeber God works thru imperfect people..
I was 10 years old when I first watched this show- I looked forward every week to the show- I loved to see how they helped people and the lesson learned- each episode- ! I’m 50 now- I’m streaming the the show- great show!!

My favorite episode I don't remember all of the storyline I just remember there were these two little boys involved and one of the boys was homeless with his cat Thomas and he was handicapped I believe or disabled in some way and I remember his father was a drunk and everything and he used to beat him and I remember the little boy telling Mark and Jonathan that he would tell his father that he loves him and his father would tell him to shut up and everything like that and I don't remember the storyline really but I just remember later on eventually the boy with the cat Thomas was invited to come live with the little boy and his family.
The episode u are referring is called Alone from season 2
@@cdgates1 thank you for telling me what the name of the episode was I just found it on peacock. 😭 I just finished watching it.
@@castielmaverickwentworth82074look up the episode Wally its amazing
Very, very interesting, thank you so much for sharing your life story. We're awed. Be safe and have a great day 💕
I love Michael Landon.
32 years since Micheal Landon died 😢
May Michael find peace. Which episode of the show appealed to you the most?
P.s the opening credits never showed different parts of America..only the flying through clouds and Jonathan walking the road until mark picks him up..facts verse ??? 😂😂😂😂 You got pretty much everything wrong
If my memory serves me correctly Michael Landon directed most of the episodes through out the series. He allowed Victor French to step in and writer Dan Gordon as well to direct various episodes. What a sad ending that must have been for him losing Victor and suddenly knowing he was going to die. He has had such a huge impact on my life from Highway to heaven.
Landon died in 1991

Speaking of Highway to Heaven, was there ever a second movie made in the reboot with Jill Scott?
Yes
@@cdgates1 How many movies have they made now?
@@jasonirelan-ig5fl 1
@@cdgates1 You said there was a second movie made in the reboot, and I looked for it and couldn't find it. I could only find the first one, and that one is for rent which I don't need to do because I already watched it.
@@jasonirelan-ig5fl my bad that was the only movie
Do your history james troesh was the disabled character not police officer
ML is being described as a devout Christian wanting to bring those values to TV, yet he has been exposed as having had 3 wives and repeatedly cheated.
Michael died on my Birthday July 1st.
@@JimCasey46 I agree
Michael Landon had a Jewish father and Irish Roman Catholic mother.
Such a good series but got so preachy about nuclear power... considering at this point its the most environmentally friendly form of power production 🤔 compared to coal, gasification, and even solar, its only surpassed by hydroelectric
One of my Favorite shows. I still watch it if it comes on a cable channel. After Victor's death the sow just wasn't the same.
God Bless
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
What are you on about ...the show never continued after victors death
Landon was amazing great show.
Sorry guys, Michael Landon was not a devout Christian.
This show was a great show
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Which episode appealed to you the most?
I thought Mike Landon was Jewish
He was.
He CERTAINLY was. Was very easy to find that out with a little proper research here. 😮
Yes I doid
Michael Landon ended the show after Victor French died he would die a few months later wow get your stories and your facts straight dude
There won't be another Pete Duel
Didnt know Victor died during productio.
Dan Blocker ( Hoss) died during production

This show was a piece of garbage. Landon was a drunk in real life .The show was so hypocritical in my eyes. It ran 5 years too many.
I always felt the show was sort of a drag & boring to watch.
May we ask why?
it was Gnostic.
I understand that they would have done 11 more episodes in Season 5 but Landon decided to close up shop!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Which episode of the show appealed to you the most?
@@FactsVerse I loved the four Christmas episodes of Highway to Heaven!!!
@@FactsVerse The late actor Victor French looked great in that Oakland A's baseball cap!!! I wonder what he would have thought about the Las Vegas Athletics!!!
