Thanks for the tour. I went to law school at the University of Maryland. Spent three years walking the streets that you covered. Then, I spent almost 40 years working near the inner harbor. Baltimore has suffered due to a loss of tax revenue. Once upon a time, it was a thriving city. It has a rich history.
thank you - the streets used to be packed with comings and goings - everyone had a "job" even work study programs while you were still in school - my how things have changed - one of the best ports in the world -Inner Harbor
@@michaelpennix6917 yes, I can. Please email me details (wants, needs, price range,etc..) and we'll see what we can do,thank you. Michael@dwpllcgroup.com
GREAT TOUR I LIVED RIGHT THERE IN MOUNT VERNON FOR 40 YEARS !! WASHINGTON MONUMENT WAS THERE BECAUSE THAT WAS UNITED STATES CAPITOL BEFORE WASHINGTON DC WAS NOT YET BUILT !! PEABODY INSTITUTE FOR MUSIC HAS THE MOST GORGEOUS INTERIOR LIBRARY GO INSIDE ITS AMAZING !! I STUMBLED UPON THIS AT 5 AM ! IT WAS GREAT TO SEE BALTIMORE !! MT VERNON IS AWESOME PLACE TO LIVE !!! YOU DID GREAT THANK YOU **
If you are interested in the architecture go over east. A lot of the homes have really neat and cool looking cornices. As far as I know there are only 2 dudes that pretty much restore them and one moved and is retired. He would use as many different colors as the home owner allowed. The areas that are a little nicer and more expensive with yuppies have them restored.
Props for doing this vid- especially since your not from Bmore. In the very beginning- Eutaw is pronounced like the state-Utah. Also, when you said- the architecture of Philly and Bmore are very similar, that is true, but they were far from hoods when built. The reason is looks like hoods now,is because of change of economy and also it went from home ownership to rentals and became very ring down over several decades.
I'm feeling like we need to get go some theme music. Lol "Taking it to the streets" or something. Baltimore reminds me of New York with the wider streets and tall buildings only cleaner. I've never been so thanks to the walk.
I used to go the dental school there. If you have a chance get food from the halal cart, its in front of the hospital and AMAZING. In Lexington market the crab cakes are good too.
Had to laugh, at 4:37 the car turning left actually stops for the pedestrian in the crosswalk. Baltimore enforces pedestrian right-of-way, makes it a good city for walking.
Be careful we are voted the worst drivers in the USA by the insurance companies the beltway and i95 have no police presence you have to Do 85 or they will hug your bumper
I haven't been to Baltimore in decades, but it's like Brooklyn and Philly had a very scrappy baby. Edit: lol bust a leak. Yeah man, be careful. Apparently doing the needful can land you on the sex offender list. There needs to be sex offender levels. Like you could be at a party and say "Oh yeah, I'm a level one sex offender" and everyone would just laugh because you peed behind a car once while drunk. Good times. I guess that makes too much sense.
I have lived here all my life and never ever have I heard of downtown being called a district lololol... and Eutaw is pronounced Utah Street... and Fayette agreed is producer Fay-ette... as one word and we have never called our city Bmore... it is Baltimore...
