My first language was NC dialect Cherokee, followed by Appalachian English. Sgi (thanks) for developing Na'vi....it's just so lovely to listen to when sung or spoken.
i wish i was good at speaking na'vi. i've been trying for about a year and i feel like i've made no progress. i really wish i could its truly so fascinating and it makes me genuinely sad that i can't
I think it's awesome a new language is learned and used. I am getting into FEZ and the language that is in the game is facinating to me, that I know about 6 of the letters from just looking at them so far. I am so interested in such an idea to make my own language for myself... Having its own letters, if you will.
As having some Jewish connexion, I feel bad about certain things about the Jewish community. Paul Frommer is NOT one of them. Sorry not to be able to say this in N'avi? Na'vi? (Posing the aleph correctly is a problem to me, was a problem in Danish and would be a real problem if I tried to learn Hebrew), but I hope he doesn't mind me saying it in English (my Quenya vocabulary is too small for it).
I think that probably the same, that frown upon Klingon do frown upon Na'vi. Or maybe it just that Avatar came after Star Trek and geekness is more accepted in today's society.
To be honest, if I were to learn a conlang, created by someone else, it would most certainly be Na’vi!
Better to learn Esperanto, at least somebody speaks it.
@@filipkogut8533 Some people learn & use conlangs for fun, not for actual conversation .
You can learn na’vi I am!

Paul, thank you for creating the Navi language. I hope you will get the chance to create more languages for fantasy and alien species in future!

I have dabbled in constructed languages like Esperanto. Very interesting.

so why is it ok to learn the Na'vi language but learning Klingon is frowned upon?
idk

You haven't seen the 2010 discourse. It was definitely not considered OK in the general internet communities back then.
Not a fan of the movie itself but this was fascinating.
