But in that case, are you actually using the amplifier section, or only using the preamp section and the amp section is disabled? Here, the actual output amplifier is still being used, with the output energy of the amplifier section being converted into heat.
This is super cool and very useful. I hope one day some level of cabinet simulation will be standard on all amplifier direct outs. So many potential applications for it.
I am a very happy owner of a original Little Bastard 30.. a wonderful head... For what it worth the Little Bastard is one of the very few bass tube heads that requires a cab... so this 2.N version is not by far the only one..
I own the “classic” Little Bastard, absolutely love the amp, maybe it’s me but I bought it because it was “pure”, an all tube old style amp, for me this one is a sort of “cyborg” 😅
I’m still rocking my ash down electric blue 180 combo it has a 1x15 with a ashown extension 4x10 mag cab , I have had it since 2006 playing it twice a week for practice ever since and sometimes Saturday night if we have a show some where usually somewhere lame local bars and small venues but it gets me outta the house
This would be interesting to extend and use for bass demos with other players. Merch question - what kind of shirts are used for the US merch? Bella+Canvas? Next Level. I work in the industry and know my sizes for each brand - but I got to get the headstock t-shirt.
I have the old little bastard, same wattage: I have gigged with it but you need a really big cabinet (meaning a lot of speaker surface i.e. 2x15 or 8x10) and PA support. The sound is amazing by the way :)
VLG
For what it is worth, the Ampeg PF-20T and PF-50T don't require a speaker to be plugged in either if you want to use them for silent recording.
I was going to add this very comment 😅

@@JohnFoxBass you can use both on PF's
Same with the Ashdown CTM-15...!
they are cheaper too i found a PF50t for $800
Honestly i love the way it distorts and breaks up a bit! It's so sweet
I love Ashdown, still rocking on my 25 year old ABM 500 !

Yo can we get more of the old guy; that guy is sick.
2:29 TheAmpeg PF-20T and PF-50T don't need to be connected to speakers
The Fender 100T bass amp can do the no cabinet required recording mode as well
But still, I love the update to this amp
Like the sound!
So glad to have found this video! Thanks

Every studio should have one of those. I'm thinking about buying one but I'm not sure if 30 watts is loud enough
Gregor. I dont understand this at all, but man do I like it
Looks gorgeous
So it’s basically the concept of the Revv D/G20 guitar amp. Which is also brilliant
Great tone.
I love this chanel !!
i love it too~
The Fender Bassman 100t has got a silent record switch.
Damn.. true. I even owned this amp at some point 🙊

Mesa Bass 400+ can be used as a preamp without a cab connected.
WHERE CAN I GET THAT SHIRT!? Damn that's cool
René for the win !!!

Hey Gregor! Du solltest umbedingt den Adam Clayton ACB 50 von Fender testen!
10x the wattage equals double the volume, so that 300w SVT is only 2x louder than the little Ashdown
Very interesting 🎉🤩
Beautiful looking amp - Is it giggable though?

Can you do review for ashdown Ant ?
I believe reidmar heads can work without a cabinet as well but I'm not willing to risk it with mine :D
We’re exclusively talking about tube amps here. Of course every solid state and class D amp can be used standalone
3:54 name song ?
And the Ashdown IRs from 2Notes are outstanding

Sehe ich auch so. René, Lars, etc sind supertolle Bassisten, aber ein paar Rock-Achtel zwischendurch wären eine gute Ergänzung.
0:34 I thought the microwave was beeping🙃
For me washing machine.
Thank you for spreading joy, dear host.
Very cool little amp.
So many options out there.
For what it is worth, the Ampeg SVT 4 will blow that thing into the stratosphere. LOL
The SVT has none of the modern features we discussed here
Gregor! Hope you are well! Any chance we will see Frank as your guest again any time soon?
I hope I can hire I’m again in January
While I love Ahsdown, my dream amp would be a Fafner with Two notes attenuator inside...
Really ramping up those click bait titles eh
