Railfanning Martinez, CA - September 2023

Amtrak Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin trains on Union Pacific's Martinez Subdivision in late September 2023. It had been 11 years since I last visited Martinez. I was up in the Bay Area and made a quick 2 hour stop to catch some of the busy passenger flow through the area. Martinez is still one of my favorite locations in the Bay to catch some passenger trains!

Awesome catches of that one UP freight at the beginning of the video and of the Amtrak Northern California trains at Martinez station. I love the horns that the 8300 series and the NorCal 6900 series (6961 to 6965) have, or most of them, since there is a few that I do not like, but I love most of the horns. I actually prefer the 8300 series better than the Pacific Surfliner cab cars down in SoCal, but that is just my opinion, if you disagree that is totally ok.
