    Yes it's available at Train Video Depot. Do a search and you'll find it easily.
    We sell train related videos from about 30 different producers. I don't know how they got access on this one. But it is one of our best selling cab ride DVD's.

    The display is Amtrak's latest attempt at a "Head's Up Display"; which is how I saw it. As for the video, it is shown in real time, and was produced in the cab of an Amtrak Diesel, on the route from Los Angeles to San Diego.

    The Automatic Bell that sounds off when he blows the horn. He has the option of turning it off if he wants but he's not doing it because of the highly populated area he's in. Basically so people hear the train coming.

  • @robertgift

    Fun, At San Juan Capistrano it heads west and goes along the beach for a number of miles.
    But then goes inland to San Diego.
    Fun ride.
    "clacking sound" is poor audio of the bell being rung through the beach area.

    Im guessing, but my own railroad experience tells me its not the track condition that warrants that speed. Ever been over the San Diego sub? That segment you just watched goes right down the beach, lots of pedestrian traffic of beach goers, joggers, etc that are unbelievably oblivious to the railroad.

    One Question: How These Guys Place The Video Camera in The Front Middle Part in The Cab of The F59PHI Locomotive?

    • @legalizebuckets594
      @legalizebuckets594 8 лет назад

      I don't think it is an F59PHI I think it is the so called "cabbage" (cab/baggage/coach) ca

    • @tunnelboy777
      @tunnelboy777  8 лет назад

      It *is* the locomotive. There is a complete tour of the locomotive in the extras section (including the toilet in the nose!) , and also some other scenes while running where the camera is further back in the cab. It is clearly the cab of the F59PHI. I believe the guy that shot this worked for Amtrak.

    • @legalizebuckets594
      @legalizebuckets594 8 лет назад

      oh ok cause I thought it was the cab/coach car cause of the bell

    • @RailsofNorCal
      @RailsofNorCal 8 лет назад

      This was back before all F59's except 462 had their bells replaced with E-bells. So each bell sounded different some like cabbage bells

    Why do they still use wooden sleepers in the US?

    • @Robbi496
      @Robbi496 10 лет назад

      some places they use concrete, bit also some of these are composite mixtures of wood and hard plastic type material

    • @goldentiger9966
      @goldentiger9966 10 лет назад

      In Norway, all rail lines have concrete sleepers

    • @goldentiger9966
      @goldentiger9966 9 лет назад

      Ok, nice to know. :-)
      We started putting down concrete ties in the 80's/90's, and by now they have all been changed, exept some sections in stations, which are pretty rotten. I guess it comes down to the climate. We have warm summers (usually 20-25 C) and could winters (usually -5 to -15C), with varying amounts of show. In the fall it also rains a lot. :-)

    • @goldentiger9966
      @goldentiger9966 9 лет назад

      The norwegian climate, landscape and scenery is very different from the countries you often think about as Europe ( GB, Germany, France etc). The best comparison for mid, eastern and southern Norway is canadian BC, and western and northern is what you get if you google Norway. The northernmost county, Finnmark, is a bit like northern Alaska. So a great diversity within the country there. Its mainly because of the Mexico-gulf and that it is as long north-south as the US west coast. :-D

    • @goldentiger9966
      @goldentiger9966 9 лет назад

      Well, Norway isn't the best known country in Europe. George W. Bush once called it the capital of Sweden (most europeans don't like him very much). And these facts are very country-specific. What part of the US do you live in?
