Gerald Ford was also the only president that had been an Eagle Boy Scout. (That's the highest 'rank' in Boy Scouts. Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle)
That sounds like such a letdown. Like imagine you're a star scout, then you get promoted to life scout! You were a scout of the stars, now a scout of life itself! What could be next? Cosmic scout?!! Oh. It's just a bird. Yay...
wtf you’re right. growing up, i was taught a lie (apparently) that every president had been an eagle scout. Now i realize how naive it was to ever accept that 😂
BSA was founded in 1910. 18 is the max age, let's say you could complete it in two years if you were highly motivated. 35 is the minimum age for president. 1929 would be the earliest an eagle scout could become eligible for president. 1932 would be the first election after that. That's only 24 chances including this year. Really much fewer when you consider all the two term presidents and 3+ FDR. It's not a law program or a public speaking course; why would it predict the presidency?
Personally my favorite movie is The Godfather. Second is The Godfather Part II. Third is Lord of the Rings Return of the King. Fourth is The Good Shepherd and last is Star Wars Empire Strikes Back. In my opinion each one highlights something beautiful about story telling and the importance of the camera. The musical numbers and well written dialogue go together well.
I mean, after watching it, he was so moved that he fired every POC in the government and banned more from being hired. And people say institutional racism doesn't exist...
There's at least one historian on RUclips with a video or two discussing how awful Wilson was, both as a person and a President. He also had a stroke during his second term and didn't tell anyone outside of his cabinet. His wife stepped up to help run the Oval Office and conceal the truth from Congress and the public at large. Nice, fun short but.... Chariots of Fire is classified as a British film, largely produced by David Puttenham's Enigma production company. Al-Fayed's old production company had a 25% stake in it with smaller stakes put up by the US 20th Century Fox and Alan Ladd's company. It may not be relevant to the national classification, however, it is a quintessentially British story, written by a Brit (the lovely Colin Welland), directed by a Brit (Hugh Hudson), and starring some of the best British actors of the day. I'm baffled as to why this is included in this list as an American film. I mean, it even won a Golden Globe for Best Foreign film.😅 Apologies, I tried to bite my tongue: I'm over it now and I'll get back in my box now. 😊

@@ladykoiwolfe Right there with you, I wanna know!
Yay...
@@rinkuraku5251that makes me feel much better having ended at life scout 😂
@@rinkuraku5251I mean it’s better than being called tenderfoot
wtf you’re right. growing up, i was taught a lie (apparently) that every president had been an eagle scout.
He reaonates with the movie, Like he was the random person suddenly in charge of the country 😂
The musical numbers and well written dialogue go together well.
nobody asked or cares what your favorite movie is you absolute nerd.
My toddler loves home alone! He first saw it at 6 months old when we were watching Christmas movies anf he was hooked ever since
ah yes woodrow wilson, the first member of the racism fandom
I mean, after watching it, he was so moved that he fired every POC in the government and banned more from being hired. And people say institutional racism doesn't exist...
There's at least one historian on RUclips with a video or two discussing how awful Wilson was, both as a person and a President. He also had a stroke during his second term and didn't tell anyone outside of his cabinet. His wife stepped up to help run the Oval Office and conceal the truth from Congress and the public at large. I think this went on for about a year before his term ended.
was surprised to find out he was member of the democratic party
@@thomasparkes5707 The party switch was crazy. Republicans and Democrats basically swapped ideologies.

Gerald Ford when watching the best part of Home Alone: "Heh! Relatable."
bush’s favorite being field of dreams is somehow one of the most george bush things i’ve ever seen
Woodrow Wilson being Woodrow Wilson
Ford was probably asked the question about the the same time he watched the movie, and it was a very popular movie at the time.
Field of dreams was a work of f*cking art.
When Doc steps off of the field, I bawl, Everytime
And he used to own Rangers. Baseball fan, obviously
I agree! It's one of my favourites.
My family watches home alone every Christmas time, we love it ❤
Im shocked Reagan’s favorite isn’t a western
He likes The Sound Of Music
I actually liked that he liked musicals despite being in so many westerns. A nice softer side we don't see most president's with.
I'm shocked hit's not one of his own movies

“Woodrow Wilson’s favorite movie was the birth of a nation”

“The birth of a nation was about the founding of the KKK”
Me: BRUH
It's actually not too surprising if you know anything about Wilson. Dude was a scumbag.
I just choked on my lemonade when I heard the description of the first movie how do you even choke on a liquid
To be fair, birth of a nation WAS a breakthrough movie at the time it came out. It created a lot of film techniques we see as standard like facial closeups or jump cuts. Despite its theme, its contribution to filmaking cannot be overlooked.
something tells me thats not the reason woodrow wilson liked it
We are currently still too far in to our issues to get be able to look back on them yet. Tribalism helps the rich.
That truly sucks 😂😂😂 its like saying “listen these gas chambers were fucking state of the art tho” like 😬😬😂
@@evannatland5151those weren't even close to state of the art, it was WW1 tech at best, for a master plan that the _Romans_ would find obsolete and petty
Even if that's true, can you see how arguing the artistic merits of the "kill all black people" movie might be taken the wrong way by others, and most would say it probably should have stayed a thought and not a public comment? I'm willing to believe you've separated the film techniques from the awful plot but your comment will give people the wrong idea about you.
The fact that Gerald Ford stop being president before home alone came out
You cannot be serious??? You thank any POTUS has time to watch a 2-3 hour movie??? smh
Ok, maybe when they go to Camp David

Chariots of Fire is classified as a British film, largely produced by David Puttenham's Enigma production company. Al-Fayed's old production company had a 25% stake in it with smaller stakes put up by the US 20th Century Fox and Alan Ladd's company.
It may not be relevant to the national classification, however, it is a quintessentially British story, written by a Brit (the lovely Colin Welland), directed by a Brit (Hugh Hudson), and starring some of the best British actors of the day.
I'm baffled as to why this is included in this list as an American film. I mean, it even won a Golden Globe for Best Foreign film.😅
Apologies, I tried to bite my tongue: I'm over it now and I'll get back in my box now. 😊
Agree it’s a British film.
He seems to count any film published by an American company as an American film which doesn't make any sense.
I thought it was a British film until you pointed it out 😂
Yes.
Home Alone is more than just a kid in charge of a house. Its the ultimate "American Home Invasion Protection with Full Weaponry Without Calling the Cops Because Its Up to You and Only You" fantasy story. I would honestly venture a guess thats why its not only his favorite, but considered an Xmas classic here.

There's no way Trump's actual favorite movie is Citizen Kane. Bro does not have the attention span to watch a 2-hour art movie in its entirety.
There are reports that he enjoyed watching action movies like Bloodsport with his sons but insisted that they fast forward through all the non-action parts. There's no way in hell Citizen Kane is a movie he's even seen, let alone understand and appreciate.

Find it very hard to believe that Hoover never saw a single film, Taft and Coolidge both lived into the early 30s but they were both pretty busy ig and films were still a newer thing at that point, but as for Hoover he lived until ‘64 and hence had a huge post-presidency so it’s hard to imagine going all that time and living thru basically the entire Golden Age of Hollywood without ever going to the theater to see a film for any reason

Cop Car with Kevin Bacon.
Prisoners with Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman.

Zodiac with Jake Gyllenhaal and Mark Ruffalo.
The Lord of the rings trilogy with Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, and Viggo Mortensen.
The Departed with Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon.
