- Taking an evening walk with my ster Friesian stallion, Apollo. We had a ball, he loved every minute of our little outing!
Not a day goes by that I don't thank the good Lord above for my magnificent imported ster Friesian stallion, Apollo. He has a heart of gold! He's charismatic, fun, loving, athletic, and respectful. I absolutely LOVE him!

Yes, all horses can walk and jog. The natural movement is show in their trot, this was not that trot.

Their elegant carriage & high-stepping 'bounce' is natural, not trained. Friesians were bred centuries ago by Dutch farmers to be both strong healthy workhorses that could handle the daily work of the farm but with beautiful flashy gait to pull the carriage on Sundays. Most of all they were carefully bred for their wonderful gentle dispositions & eagerness to work with humans.
The Dutch take great pride in these horses that originate from the farms of Friesland, & the breeding program today is very carefully managed so the horses maintain their beauty, strength, healthiness & smart gentle natures. To my mind, there's not a more beautiful breed of horses on the planet.
@@johnnydtractive I kinda meant the way his heads all upright and he’s trotting so slowly, but that’s probably just a result of her having a leash on him ig. Also, if they’re bred then I guess it makes sense cause they never moved to run away from predators lol

What a beautiful horse, he’s straight out of a fantasy story, the posture, the trotting, the beautifully defined legs and body, the hair!! The curly tail and everything, and the best part, he knows he’s just gorgeous :D

Pop Rocks They are both spectacular. The only way to know for sure which is the "best" (and by that i mean best example of the breed) horse would be if they went in the same in hand show. Both a highly acclaimed stallions, i would say they are pretty much equals. From the comformation type photo i saw of him, Apollo seems a bit better balanced overall but again, both entering the same class would be the only way to tell who is the better stallion.
He trots with such grace, it’s a pleasure to the eyes.

This is inaccurate. It is horse behavior, he is nervous and looking at his surroundings. He is also a stallion so they get big when nervous. Believe it or not it's good for horses to walk on hard surfaces every now and then. Many Grand Prix horses are taken on walks on the road for this reason. It's good for THEM to walk on different terrains.

@vin 950 Horseshoes were invented around the same time people began to make stone paved streets. The purpose was to prevent excessive wear of the hooves. But, hard ground plus hooves actually damage horse feet. Think of this, when a horse makes a step,the connective tissue of the hoof allows it to spread, so the weight and the energy spread across a bigger area. If the horse is shooed and constantly walks on a hard surface, the hooves don't have the ability to spread so the impact is concentrated in a smaller area,causing damage( imagine stomping with all your might on a concrete floor,wearing tight or smaller than your size shoes,which don't allow your foot to spread). But, if the horse is always on a relatively soft surface like grass or sand the impact is not so strong so shoes won't cause that much of a problem. Also if the horse is "barefoot" and walks on hard surfaces, it won't cause damage,for the reason I stated above.
As for his walk, some horses are taught to walk or "dance" like that.

No, Friesians do not come in white, they are well-known for the jet-black coats and long flowing hair. They are occasionally chestnut, but it's very rare. However, Friesians chestnut in color are not eligible for FHANA Main Stud Books registry.

I want to have a fresian too. I have a chunky all black 20 year old Morgan horse. But the problem with fresiana is that they are war horses and when they get scared they will charge at you. I've had it happen too many times. I recommend getting a Morgan or a thoroughbred an Arabian would be ideal too but unless you have years of experience with war horses then I would wait for a fresian ♥️
