I welcome everyone to the Outfit channel. In this video I will talk about fashionable skirts for the cold season 2023/2024. There will be a lot of visual content from the latest collections and basic information about current silhouettes, fabrics, lengths and other details.
One of the main trends of this season is the pencil skirt, which is present in large numbers on the catwalks. The length of the straight skirt is predominantly midi, as well as the length along the knee line. A pencil skirt can have a front slit, pinstripes or patch pockets. This skirt is ideal for creating office, elegant and casual outfits.
In the cold season, of course, knitwear comes first. Knitted skirts of maxi and midi lengths, straight and A-line silhouettes are relevant. Create comfortable, cozy everyday looks by pairing a knit skirt with fashionable shoes.
Maxi length skirts have become a trend for 2023. There were many of them during the warm period. In the cold season, they also remain with us, be it a knitted, woolen or denim skirt.
An A-line skirt that creates voluminous folds is ideal for creating feminine New Look outfits. Modern outfits are created through fashionable shoes, tops and outerwear. Let's look at examples.
We continue wearing the skirt with a large pleat, which was a trend in past seasons, creating images in various styles.
Some will say that the mini skirt has lost its position as a fashion trend. Some people will say that it is impossible to wear a mini skirt in cold weather. But let's not forget that this length is very complimentary to someone and some people can afford to show off their beautiful legs. Wear a mini skirt with warm tights, knee-high socks, high boots up to the knee or higher, and a long coat.
A leather skirt will always be relevant when it's cold. Choose the model that suits you. Let's look at stylish outfits with a leather skirt.
Traditionally, it is believed that a satin skirt is only suitable for the warm season. In fact, a satin skirt can be well styled in fall and even winter. Combine this skirt with a fashionable knitted top, leather jacket, high boots or, for example, pants.
The denim skirt, which has become a must-have for the summer of 2023, is also being introduced into autumn-winter wardrobes. Let's look at stylish outfit ideas with a denim skirt.

Many young women just haven’t yet discovered the extreme comfort of skirts, I hope they will.

It's such a shame they don't sell maxi big pleated skirts on my country, for some reason pleated skirts are all mini. I love the look 😍

I live in a mild-winter climate, California, so I wear skirts year-round, I love them. After 50 years of searching, I haven’t found any jeans or trousers* that fit me even reasonably well, except for leggings and joggers, so I wear skirts and dresses, mostly. In winter, I just add my tall (knee- or thigh-high) boots and tights, and maybe a petticoat for lighter-fabric skirts/dresses. With a wool overcoat, I stay plenty warm. I never wore trousers to my office during my whole career. Women didn’t really, when I began my professional career in the early 80s, skirts and dresses were still the everyday attire for women. I think skirts and dresses are so much more comfortable anyway. Nowadays, even a raggedy denim skirt is considered “dressed up”! But everyone is used to me always being skirted, even if strangers make snide comments. *I recently tried Franne Golde trousers, they fit! They’re still too big on my skinny thighs, but not enormous on my narrow hips, like other pants are. It’s tough to find clothes for my relatively rare body type, narrow and straight, with a strangely, naturally full bust. Women’s clothing is designed for the majority type, the Pear, which is 75-80% of women. Shoulders have become wider and wider over the decades, too.

The newest skirt length coming in is knee-length, which we haven’t seen for ages. I think just above, or just covering, the knee, flatters everyone. These two lengths end at slimmer parts of the leg. I love all lengths, mini to maxi. I’m considered “too old” by many for modest mini-skirts (nothing too short), but I wear them anyway, with tights. My long, slim legs look a lot better than the average American teenager’s, I’m going to make the most of them! I see many teens and young women wearing minis who really shouldn’t, they don’t suit thunder thighs (nearly every American girl or woman is overweight, if not obese). How one looks in a style is much more important than one’s age. I weigh the same 40 years later, as I did on my wedding day.
