I'm tall, but with short legs. Watching your videos has completely transformed my style. I've never been able to figure out why I've looked frumpy in certain things, but since you've helped me figure out I'm an inverted triangle with short legs, now I know what to shop for to help balance me out! I've gotten complimented on my "style" for the first time last week and I was just glowing with happiness. Thank you sweet Chi!
I'm Russian. For me, what you show is autumn wear. Where i live the termperatures are possible to get as cold as -25 and the records are about -40. I wear short woolen A-line "preppy" skirts down to -10...-15 with warm leggings and knee high military style boots, a thick fleece jacket or a sweater and a knee long membrane tinsulate jacket. Typically you don't have to care about the colour of the socks, because you're wearing long boots. You also shouldn't wear heels and thin soles in winter because of slippery ice and generally cold ground.
Where I live, our record is -64 degrees Fahrenheit. But normally it’s -30/-45 around here during winter mornings. I would still wear most of these(with a much thicker jacket over the thinner ones) if I was only going from my car, to a building. You can absolutely wear these indoors in the winter, or if point a to point b is a very short walk(car to building)
your tips are wonderful. I was wondering if you can provide any guidance for those of us who cannot wear high heels and are petite: shoes, skirt length, coat, sweater length, overall guidance how to look taller and not frumpy when no getting help of additional inches.
I live in Montana and I do the black thermal bottoms or fleece lined leggings with my midi skirts and dresses and boots for winter because it's warmer than tights
I was clothes shopping today and even though I looked at skirts, I purposely didn't buy one because I hadn't watched this video yet. I'm getting a better idea of what to wear now, because of your videos, but I would like to see you do some for women who cannot wear heels. I have damaged hips and feet from an accident years ago, and the highest heel I can wear without pain is 3/4 of an inch. Wearing heels is your go-to, but I'm sure you must have ideas for flat footwear too.
I quickly checked, Amazon has both 100% merino wool tights (expensive @ $75), and more reasonably priced merino blends from $20 up. Even 50%+ merino blends will be a lot warmer than all synthetic-fiber tights. I saw one pair with 75% merino, one with 59%. Be sure to check the denier, or weight of the tights, this reflects how much fiber is used, and the thickness. I hope this helps! I miss the good old days when one could buy silk tights, they’re not warm enough for your climate, but were perfect for mine. I usually got a year of weekly office wear from them before they ran, too. I hope they come back some day.
Great tips, as always, Chi. I also wear other-colored matching tights, boots and skirts/dresses, like ivory, navy or brown. H&M has some cute ivory and beige ribbed tights that look great with my matching boots and skirts or dresses. This is something we did in the 90s a lot, and I’ve always done it since, because it’s so visually lengthening. If a skirt is really long, I sometimes cheat and wear matching long socks instead, they’re more comfy than tights, and I don’t usually need more warmth here in coastal California. Also, matching tights/socks and ankle boots give the same effect, if one doesn’t have the matching knee-high boots. I try to wear the highest-heeled boots that are comfortable, usually around 2”.
Thanks Chi! I live in Sweden, we sourly have thought winters here... We need all the merino wool we can get, but its not always that chic and easy to style... I would appreciate more winter specials from you, for us living in -10.
I’ve been more interested in longer skirts recently. This is such a great video, thanks for educating me so I don’t look as weird while I experiment with my new fashion interest!!
Thank you Chi sooo much. After watching your channel for couple months finally I know what I'm doing everytime I open mine closet. For the first tome in my life! Love you so much! And I'm not even petitte! :)
I'm 5'7'' and I'm not a skirts or dresses gal but I watched the whole thing 😆 Great tips regardless of height to help everyone look better, thanks Chi.
Thank you for showing the right and wrong way with your video so I can see the difference! I love all your information and your sense of humor! Keep up the wonderful work for us petite people. 😘
It's way too cold for me to wear skirts in winter. So I am always in some thick jeans! Also troublesome to put on tights for me. Life is way too busy! :(
I love skirts and dresses. Some people think that it is for religious purposes. But no I don’t feel like I have the body to wear tied jeans or pants. Not that I never wear pants but I preferred to used like a culottes, or palazzos. There’re not enough videos that talked about dresses & skirts.
I’m a petite pear soft gamine body types idk what type of skirt and dress to wear. They are tricky to find and I don’t like form fitting body fitting stuff at my bottom- more modest but cute
Beautiful options Chi ! Where did you say you bought the black peplum jacket ? Where did you get your cute black maxi dress ? I think I need that style as a priority in my closet ! I thought with the brown midi skirt you would still want to wear a black heel not a brown one , no?
I think your camisole idea is cute but not really realistic for us curvier, bustier petites. I wear a 28DD bra, so this ain't happening for me. Hehe. As for matching the coat to the skirt length, this is really only relevant until you get indoors. Matching the shoe is less important too when you're going to switch out from your winter boots to your indoor shoes when you arrive at your destination.
Love the popling tops and your leather skirt looks so lady like like old fashion but yet sexy. I live in California and love buying hue leggings or the ones without the feet covering (forgot name of those?) just wore to a nice restaurant in Santa Monica for brother in law’s birthday. Wore a nice black sweater with an inside long sleeve thin cotton light t-shirt for extra warmth the sweater has teeny holes in the design. Wore my leggings in black and a thick cotton mini skirt, black boots. Is a challenge not looking like a kid when you are 5’3. Of love to find long flowery skirts also but is such a challenge. When I find one is usually wrong size can’t find a medium they are all gone. Anyone suggest any shops where you seen nice skirts or online? Would appreciate it! I’m no expert ordering on line I find if you don’t know the sizing they carry you can order the wrong size/length but I’m willing to try cause u can’t find a thing. Lol! Oh! Sometimes have found some cute prints at H&M but again only in large. Love skirts! And dresses but I guess skirts are easier to wear year round? Great tips as always! Thank you! Merry Christmas!🎄🎁

Chi, I'm so glad I found your channel. I have a question, Can petite girls wear kick crop jeans with ankle boots?
Thank you for the cold weather tips. Cheers from the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you for showing the right and wrong way with your video so I can see the difference! I love all your information and your sense of humor! Keep up the wonderful work for us petite people. 😘
Glad it was helpful!
To me, cropped jackets look best with long skirts. Still, cropped coats are impossible to find.
Proud of myself that I found my own thoughts in your presentation. Though, I was not that good with my choices while I was younger.
Love your black maxi coat.
Thank you!
I think merino wool tights might be available from some UK brands, sorry, I don’t know any offhand, but it might be worth a look.
Hii!! I have a small suggestion. Can you please do styling mini skirts with pants🙂
Thank you, Qi! I love your videos. Now I have some great ideas for skirts I have but had trouble figuring out how to wear them! Happy Holidays!
Glad you liked them, Sara!
Ugh this was so helpful. I’m so happy I watched this. I just subscribed
Thank you! ❣️
Thank you for your videos. The struggle of us petites is real.
You are so welcome! You got this!
Question here 🙋🏻♀️
For the long skirt, Do you really have to pair the black leggings with black booties ? Or can we just do a long black boots.🤷🏻♀️
It's way too cold for me to wear skirts in winter. So I am always in some thick jeans! Also troublesome to put on tights for me. Life is way too busy! :(
You do it your way, I will do it mine. I don't care, not one bit, about compliments. Being warm is the important thing.
Then why are you even here? This is a guide 😓
It's quite possible to be warm and not look like a cabbage 😁
Nice attitude?! Lol! Why listen to a video guiding on style then? 🤦🏻♀️
I am to know wear that peplum blouse/jacket is from?! I love it
Yay to leggings under long skirts! 😊 Thank you, Chi!
You're so welcome!

Hi,
I’m not petite & I love ur videos.
Ur suggestions apply to me as well.
Ur spot on with the 1/3 & 2/3 portion stuff. Thank U for what you do. ☀️🙂
I've been wearing fleece lined leggings with black socks for years and nobody has ever noticed.
Very helpful!😊💕 Thanks
Please do more on maxi skirts♥️
Ma'am can you make a video on interview dress selection process for fresher's . It's a request please
Beautiful options Chi !
Where did you say you bought the black peplum jacket ?
Where did you get your cute black maxi dress ? I think I need that style as a priority in my closet !
I thought with the brown midi skirt you would still want to wear a black heel not a brown one , no?
Hi Marianne! The peplum jacket is Nanette Lepore. Yes black heels can elongate the legs best!
Ooohhh! I love that long black coat! Where did yoi find it?
How to stop skirts from sticking to tights or leggings in winter?
Another informative, helpful video 👍🏾
So detailed video!
I wear winter leggings they made from cotton not nylon so they are warmer but thin like nylons so they don't add bulk
Thanks for the tip!
Great styling tips thank you!

why is it only me who notices that shorts skirts make petite people look even shorter ?
No, I’m a girly guy. Well, Intersex guy. Intersex Trans-Feminine guy, so 40% girl.
a maxi skirt is way more elongating than a mini skirt. I wonder why you don't realize this
