was it made from PLA ? how does it handle heating of components ? ESC's or motors may get warm - PLA gets soft and out of shape. Also how does it handle crashes ? Especially with what looks like 30-40% infill - that "honeycomb" is very brittle. How often do you have to reprint arms ? :)

Hi there... I don't understand, I see somebody use ESC between drone board and motor, and else like you dont use ESC. What's the difference? Is the ESC required, recommended or optional?

1 year later, seems like you did not get an answer to your question. ESCs are required only for brushless motors, since they convert direct current (DC) to 3-phase alternating current (AC). If you use brushed motors, ESCs are not needed, since brushed motors use regular direct current (DC).

This is cheap, probably around $200 as built in this video with betaflight. But if you want to build something that approaches the capabilities of a mavic, you will need to go the ardupilot route and add a digital video link, so the build cost will go up significantly (around $700-800).
