For example, I've listened to Chill Kill album on my PC on RUclips and then in the evening Headphones+Player, it's like 2 different albums. I've heard so much more.
The dance break Planet Rock "sample" is actually an interpolation from Kraftwerk's "Trans-Europe Express". The song was originally going to use Kraftwerk's "Numbers". Afrika Bambaataa and Arthur Baker (a legendary producer) were pioneers of Electro sound and both huge fans of Kraftwerk.
Once again my appreciation for this channel just keeps increasing. I'm not very knowledgeable in music but hearing you guys explain "why" I'd like certain parts of a song and how it works that way, makes me have a new found appreciation for songs I already love❤
I'm surprised that Sean thinks the bridge doesn't hit hard enough. I feel like the General response among everyone is they love the bridge. In fact I saw many people have mixed feelings about the song initially but still love the bridge. Its also the part that got viral. For me too, while sonically its not hard sounding, the whole section is still somehow hard hitting for me. I wonder why tho. Maybe bcoz the section sounds very bouncy and round which is satisfying to listen to iykwim 😅

What I like about Supernova is that its incredibly dynamic in its composition. The intro is reminiscent of Next Level. The textured synth baseline has this push-and-pull feel to it, adds dynamics, and keeps the listener engaged in the listening experience just by listening to the textured synth. You hear the hyperpop influence such as the textures used and the layering. The memorable verses sound different from one another. I like how the vocals are presented later, from the 1st chorus to the second verse and onwards until the end, to build tension and it keeps the song engaging to listen to rather than flat. The catchy chorus continues to build up the tension by adding more production elements until everything snaps at the final chorus with powerful belts of Winter and Ningning and more production elements combined with unconventional harmonies of rap and vocal delivery. The fantastic 90s trap hip-hop breakdown in the dance break. Supernova is the song of the year for good reason. There is so much to talk about from a technical standpoint.
