      Daeron is I believe Alicent/Visery's youngest son. He is in Oldtown as a squire. He was supposed to be in S1 but I guess they didn't mention him because they didn't know if they would get enough seasons or not so they wanted to keep it minimal

      Ok given that its episode 2 and you guys still don't understand the opening i guess ill explain it for you , the tapestry is ment to show you the history of house Targaryen and its history up till this point.
      The first image we see is what seems to be the origin of old valyrea and their dragons, the next is daenys the dreamer the savior of House Targaryen who prophecied the fall of old valyrea and convinced her father to flee to westaros, the next is the doom of old valyrea, the next is aegon and his sister wives during the war of conquest symbolized by the burning of harrenhall the castle daemon keeps mentioning wanting to take for rhenyrea as well as the field of fire when the Targaryens beat the lannesters and the former kings of the reach , the next is the formation of the Targaryen dynasty and the previous kings before visarys, we first see maegor the cruel the second son of aegon the conquer who uerped the throne from hos nephew who he also killed he's the guy Otto compared daemon too and claimed he'd be the same type of king if he was visarys hier, the next is young jeaharys the king before visarys and more recent events your familer with .
      Also the model visarys Made was of old valyrea not kings landing if you payed attention to how Kings landing actually looks like youd know they look nothing alike and visarys already explained what the model was in episode 2 of season 1 but i understand its been a while.

    It's the history of House Targaryen - Daenys the Dreamer prophesying the Doom of Valyria and telling her father who took House Targaryen and fled Valyria to Dragonstone, the Doom of Valyria, the Targaryen Conquest of Westeros, King Maegor dying on the Iron Throne, King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne's golden age, the Great Council of Harrenhal which we saw in the first episode, the beginning of the Dance of Dragons with the two factions on different sides of the table, Aegon and Rhaenyra on their thrones on opposite sides and then Lucerys and Arrax being killed by Aemond and Vhagar which started the civil war.

  • @CoffeeBrainzz
    @CoffeeBrainzz 3 месяца назад +1

    it was very hard to tell who won the twin battle! but as far as i can tell from the captions etc, Erryk won (team black) however i feel that it would have been FAR more impactful if Arryk won (Team green) and then in the guilt of killing his brother and acting dishonestly and dishonoroble in war he had a change of heart on the spot and THATS why he apologized to the Queen and then kill himself... but it just didnt make sense to me that Erryk did his duty, he protected and saved the queen and yet he kills himself????? i get it was his brother but they were already resigned to the sides they chose, but it was Arryk who looked like he was ashamed and even contemplating abandoning his mission when he was outside the door, but he walked in and said, " im sorry i have no choice" he was ashamed of his action so it would make sense thta he would be the one to kill himself. but it was still enjoyable,

    I felt broken hearted for Aegon and Aemond this episode. Aemond reminded me so much of the Unsullied from GoT’s who would visit the brothel just to be held and feel a mother’s love. Aemond doesn’t go for the young hookers, he prefers the older motherly one because he’s never experienced that before. Seeing Alicent walk in on Aegon who was completely broken and utterly destroyed in that moment just to turn around and walk out without a word was so incredibly cruel. Despite being a staunch supporter of Team Black, I couldn’t help but feel for Alicent’s children. ***Daeron is Viscerys and Alicent’s youngest child. In the book he was raised in Kings Landing. This episode was another banger. The writing this season has been unbelievably brilliant.

      @@kylethompson3008 It's about intent. Aemond was trying to mess with Luke, but once the dragons started acting on their own, he's in a full blown panic.
      At best, Luke's death could be considered 1st degree manslaughter since Aemond, while setting up the disaster, didn't mean for him to get killed.

    • @kylethompson3008
      @kylethompson3008 3 месяца назад +3

      @TimberlakeTigerGirl In that case, since you're going by a court of law. It would depend on witnesses. The witnesses at Storms End would say after Luke left, Aemond immediately hopped on his dragon and chased him down, which resulted in his death. There are no witnesses to corroborate Aemonds testimony that it was an accident unless the dragon speaks up on his behalf. I don't see that happening. Aemond would be extremely lucky to catch only a manslaughter charge. In most cases, he would be found guilty of murder

    I've never believed Daemon wants the throne. I felt what he wanted was power, yes, but also respect and recognition. I think he wants to be co-ruler at best. This isn't saying Pudgey is wrong, by the way, just illustrating a difference in how characters can be viewed.

  • @ancatdal
    @ancatdal 3 месяца назад

    I'm not Team Green, but I will somewhat defend Alicent here. We see her this episode express the feeling that the gods are punishing them, punishing her, with Jaehaerys' death. She attempts to confess her sins to Otto; seeking her father's help in dealing with the guilt that she is carrying. But he rejects that, and Alicent is left to struggle with that feeling of guilt on her own.
    When she sees Aegon grieving, that guilt is no doubt on her mind. And that is in addition to her already complicated relationship with Aegon. She was just a child herself when she had Aegon, Aegon is the result of sex she was forced to have to do her "duty", from a relationship that destroyed what seems to have been her closest relationship, the one with Rhaenyra. Aegon, through no fault of his own, has laid between Alicent and happiness, he's part of her prison. Aegon is a product of his father's gross neglect, and his mother's unpreparedness for, and complicated relationship to, motherhood. And the man he has become as a result is one who assaults women, which Alicent is deeply aware of.
    That's a complicated situation to comfort someone in, while grieving yourself, without emotional support.
    Similarly, we see Aegon and Helaena unable to connect. There is a pattern passed down through the generations here, and it's painful to see.

    Y do I feel more people r more upset with criston in this episode over daemon who literally had a child killed? It makes no sense to me. I get it Criston is a hypocrite having a hypocritical lifestyle with roid rage, but he is worse than a man who groomed his niece, a man who pre killed his first wife, a man who assaulted his wife after she lost her father and unborn daughter, and man who orchestrated the death of a toddler n nearly assaulted his wife again?
    Ive been saying this for the longest daemon and Otto r two side of the same coin. They are upset with their kings and queens because neither listen to them, they both want to be in control, and when they not in control they both over step. The only difference between them is that they use different tools to attack their enemies. Daemon uses the blade and otto has his tongue.
    Anyone else notice the parallel with rhaenyra calling out daemon manipulation in this episode like how Alicent confront Otto with his manipulation in episode 9.

    Daeron is Viserys and Alicent's youngest son, he was sent as a boy to squire for Lord Hightower. During Daemon's assessment of their position at the end of Season 1, he said that Dragonstone had 13 dragons to the Green's 4.
    Aegon, Aemond, Helaena and Daeron are all dragonriders. However, Daemon says that the Greens only have 3 adult dragons. So Daeron is still very young. Roughly the same age as Lucerys Velaryon.

It shows the generational trauma in the Greens: Otto refusing to listen to Alicent speak about a "sin" that's troubling her, followed by Alicent immediately turning her back on Aegon in his grief and suffering.
    By the way, the cloth Helena was embroidering in the last episode becomes Jahareys funeral shroud in this episode, just in case your heart wasn't ripped to shreds for her already 😭 That poor girl knew what was going to happen, and did her best to communicate the danger to her son, poor Heleana.

It's no surprise they were able to usurp the throne, all the studs are on their side. If they stick to showing more Team Green in these episodes than Team Black, the show becomes more Game of Thrones-y IMO. Black Team just has Dragons and an unhinged lunatic going for them. @@Lostmonster there are scenes where she comforts or tries to comfort aemond and helaena. in ep6 when aemond is bullied, she comforts him. in ep8, she hugs helaena after finding out aegon raped a maid. in ep9, she tries to comfort helaena after viserys death but she rejects her touch. in s2x02 during the funeral, she tries to comfort and calm helaena down. there aren’t any scenes where she reaches out to aegon in that way, in 2x02 she clearly wants to comfort him by the look on her face but she just can’t. shes bad at comforting all of them but shes especially terrible with aegon. i think trying to explore the psychology behind that beyond the simple “shes just a bad mother” explanation (which is correct but theres more to that) would make a way more interesting conversation.
      aemond reaching out to the brothel lady seems to be a recent development, the lady says “oh how you’ve grown” in ep9 which implies this is her first time seeing him in years. this is probably caused by alicent being disappointed with him after he murdered lucerys. hes no longer the golden child (alicent relies on him in ep9) compared to aegon the disappointment child.
      alicent also doesn’t want to do the funeral but she feels its her and helaenas duty as queens, i think maybe at some point during the season she will realise that duty is a bunch of BS and all her sacrifices and suffering were all for nothing. this will send her through a downward spiral.

You can see how she can't comfort Aegon and how Aemond seeks motherly comfort from an older woman in a brothel. The show is an excellent dive into medieval vs modern ethics and the psychology they produce. People are bothered by bastards, while Jace, Luke and Joffrey were raised with love and attention by 3 parents. Meanwhile, Aegon and Aemond were ignored by both parents because the reason for their existence is to be succession spares. Daemon did say 'a son for a son'. So saying it was just a miscommunication is letting him off the hook a little too easy. He should be aware of the consequences of his words. He has a child's blood on his hands and Pudgey saying that it wasnt as bad as what Cole did this in the episode (and throwing Alicent into the mix as well) is ridiculous. I know hes a cool character and you two support the Blacks but dont blindly whitewash over their behaviour.

    It’s not so much Cole was supposed to be at haelenas door.. like Arryk said, why hadn’t she been appointed a sworn protector? He was just bad at his job in that regard but it is his fault

    Alt Shift X made a good spoiler-free breakdown of the intro sequence if you want to know more about what you are seeing. Its a lot of the past history Valyria and the Targaryens.

    Yeah that was textbook projection from Criston Cole. He is so full of guilt and self hate that he was talking to himself but looking at Arrik.

    Cole screwed the king and the queen in one episode! I mean how stupid can Aegon be? Cole was the commander of his guard and on his watch they killed his son. Instead of killing him he made him his hand?

    Alicent is a horrible and a hypocrite person, not to mention Cole, notice the difference between Rhaenyra and Alicent when comforting their childs in their griefs.
    The crazieness of Aegon and Aemond are a reflection on her and Otto’s parenthood

    Aegon is just a boy who was forced to uphold such burden and duty despite never being prepared for it.
    He lost a son and now acting only based on a grief and blinded by vengeance and that's not good.

    Daemon wasn't looking for a strategic move though. He wanted pure revenge, he didn't care if it benefited them or not

    Aemond is pretending to be the hard guy and has layers beneith he tries to cover. It seems like he had a bad relationship with his mother aswell as he had time with a prosti... who was well older. Kinda looking for a mother figure.

    Right, so Daemon that ordered the death of a child possibly is less terrible than Alicent. Interesting blaming the victims

    is it just me or does anyone else find it so endearing that Pudgey says her name like a question? "and I'm Pudgey?"
