Great little pistol. I own the 422, 622, and 2206 Target models with six inch barrels, as well as a four inch barreled 622. All have been accurate and reliable. I’ve noticed a recent uptick in interest and videos on these guns which have been out of production since 1996, I believe. I refer to them as the poor man’s Model 41, since they share the same magazines. Great video!!!

Same as mine. I got a 6 inch tho. Got it in 2004. Love it! Had it with me all over in the bush.

Love mine! First gun I personally bought in 1987.

I have had one of these since 1987. Great little handgun that I put many, many thousands of rounds through, between myself, my wife and 3 sons. A couple years ago I replaced the hammer spring and recoil spring. (Wolff Springs) The gun was producing occasional misfires. Replacing the hammer spring fixed that.
FWIW, S&W Model 41 magazines will fit and function in this gun. The original model 422/622 mags were 12 rounds, the Model 41 mags are 10 rounds. But...they are easier to obtain and work fine.
The design, BTW, dates back to the Browning Model 1900 and has been used in many other handguns, notably Dreyse and Bayard pistols in Europe, over the years. S&W made the Model 61 "Escort" in the 1950s and 1960s which was the identical design but much smaller. Being adaptable to a suppressor is more a by-product of the design than by intent, but adapters are sold which replace the barrel retaining nut and provide threads for a suppressor.

      Looks like a Tokarev/TT-30

      @@stevenrodriguez9655 In general outline.
The Tokarev TT30 and TT33 are actually, more or less, a copy of the FN1903 (Similar looking but not identical to the Colt Model 1903) both designed by Browning.
The Tokarev has some features the Browning pistols don't have have (exposed, removable hammer for example)
The 422 is actually nearly a direct copy copy of the Browning Model 1899/1900 with some changes to accommodate a rimfire cartridge.

I was able to find a couple 12 round magazines that had red followers back around 1990. Mine was very accurate although kinda picky on ammo. It was my daughters favorite so I don't have it anymore. 😉

Try some 10 rounders and replace the recoil spring if it seems picky on ammo, I have heard the 12 rounders are somewhat less reliable. Mine was having some failures to feed with some ammo, and I since replaced the recoil spring, and it's back to being one of my most reliable 22 pistols. I'm glad you were able to pass it on, and it's still getting used!

Good to hear, it's neat to see how something came when it was bought, especially older firearms that aren't made anymore!

Weird pistol. Can.t figure out where the 4 1/2 barrel is.

The barrel is lower than what you would expect. This minimizes 'jump' after a shot for faster follow up shots.
