Our First Glimpse of Capitol Reef | Cassidy Arch | Butch Cassidy's Hideout!

Cassidy Arch ACTUALLY left us speechless. The trail was the perfect welcome to an underrated National Park that we couldn't wait to explore. We didn't waste time making it our first priority, after pie from the Gifford House of course. With the afternoon sunlight the Navajo sandstone knobs and deep red rock stripes made a perfect backdrop to this fabled arch.
The trail: 3.1 mi, elevation gain: 666, out and back ,starting elevation is 6350. The Cassidy trail spur is on the Grand Wash trail.
