You can really see what the band was trying to do here. What is impressive is how loud they are. The sound is very full because of how locked in Moon and Enthwistle are. Harmonies on Heatwave are nice- as is Daltrey's harp playing on the later track (Smokestack Lightening?). Townsend is very avant garde for the time

Great stuff. This almost shows the power of volume. Keith really bashes out the beat, but as with those who do manual labor, hardly breaks a sweat. Nearing the end you the see the effect of prolonged amplification - it is body's inclination to violence- shown in Pete. Going deaf is like going numb and driven by the boogie, creates a lashing out response. All this in only 1965?

He was hyper and he was crazed. He released an album with a picture of an Ass on it. Only thing is you can’t tell if it’s male or female. What a joker! Then he rode his Rolls Royce into a swimming pool. What a clown! 😅😊
Man, Pete's 12 string Rickenbacker sounds fantastic. This was his arguably his best guitar tone- so much ring and treble, yet clear. His tone with the SG's and the Hiwatts was great too, but IMHO, this was better.

There is a picture of him sitting in the foreground and on the wall directly behind him are at least seven or eight smashed Rickenbackers. He started out playing the 1996 Rose-Morris import (I think that's what it was) six string Rick, they had F holes- man, they had a great sound...after he smashed that guitar (accidentally the first time), the story goes he carried on with a Rick 12 string.

You may be right. Then again, not much camera time was spent on other bass players from the great mid-60's bands (example: Bill Wyman, Paul Samuel-Smith, etc.) The lone exception being Paul McCartney.
Poor Pete Entwistle. The cameraman...had no clue, there was a bass player also...in the group. He thought The Who, was just a 3 piece outfit. Probably had never seen a bass guitar before. Maybe it frightened him.
