Great timeless song. Great camera work. all so simple, yet all so powerful, makes it unforgettable. Today's over processed , vacuous music is forgotten very quickly.
One of the greatest songs of all times,I could not tell you how many guys i new when i was young ,when this song came out they all ran out and bought themselves a guitar. The Animals had some fantastic musicians ,unbelievable the guy on the organ near the end.thanks for the video. thanks youtube.
I was 16, this was the 1st rock concert I ever saw. October 1964, Utica, NY. It was incredible! J. Frank Wilson opened the show ("Oh Where Oh Where Can My Baby be?") and then The Animals took the stage. They were young with long hair and from England. Some people in the audience didn't like them, and threw coins at them, and the show was stopped by police dressed in helmets and riot gear. The cops warned the audience to refrain or the show would not continue. It stopped.. Then the band reappeared and did "House of the Rising Sun" and that was it. Music that changed my life!
J'adore , did not know that Alan Price was the keyboardist in the Animals, nor that he wrote this song.....I thought it was an old American Blues number.....who knew...Genius....
This is truly one of the greatest songs ever written. I remember this song when I was little, and I was born in 1974. I'm a metal/hard rock/alternative guy and always have been....but this song changed my life and perspective...I now listen to many songs out of my usual genre. I enjoy the Doors, Hank Williams Sr., B.B.King, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, and many others because of this ingenuity....
Que tiempos , recordando esos guateques que haciamos en compañia de nuestros amigos. Cuantos conjuntos de estos triunfaron y cuantos quedaron atrás.Pero que siempre gusta escuchar.
Eric Burdon and The Animals, will gonna live forever....inside our souls..and the humankind souls...this song is gonna be live forever...my daughter, when she was 5 year old, loved this song...and today, she love it more..and, I love it too. She has 21 and I am in the loose.
Music was music then! I am proud to have been part of this great era. So sorry for the youth of today to have to listen to that crap they think is music
Eric Burdon and the animals are marvellous artists I love them the same that I love Los Iracundos with Franco by the way Eric looks like him a litle borth have beautifull voices and they were very handsome young boys.
Hey, folks, this the blues! A real blues.. It is way out of the bluesy standards, but it is a smelly blues as it can get… Passion and the pain interact while the sweat is soaking that ball and chain… I just promised to myself that first time when I would perform in New Orleans - I will sing that song! …just a guitar, vocal and the goose bumps… Cheers, Marino Frost~~
Had a huge argument doing "jackieoke" at Keats Pub in NYC a few years ago, about a line in this song. Almost came to blows. All about "Drunk" versus "on a Trump". Glad to see this video agres with me. I'll always sing it that way. ...Alex
This is a remarkable song. I kept wondering what inspired a British band to write a song about a poor boy in New Orleans. Not until researching a little recently did I realize that this song has a long history dating all the way back to the 1500 England! It was later brought to America by the immigrants and gradually evolved into the present form with The Big Easy as backdrop. Still, there is no consensus as to where that House is or whether it ever existed at all. Anyway, superb rendition! A+
I'm building a time machine..and travelling back to the times of huge tunes like this..and I'm gonna settle down with a couple of hundred pounds of great smoke..I'm gonna toke my face off and listen to all the great music right up through the mid-eighties..then I'm going to go back and do it all over again..and I ain't ever coming back to these times again...
this song easily is just as good a rock song as a blues song. also, i like the natural way people were in front of the camera before they became video savvy.
There are not-so-good songs, there are not-so-bad songs, there are good songs, there are very good songs, there are excellent songs, and there is "House Of The Rising Sun"
Who could watch this and not think of the great motion picture "Easy Rider"....Jack, Dennis, Karen............poor lost souls gathered in that Big Easy House of ill Repute..Eric telling us his story of wo........and realizing he had to leave this life and return to "The Ball & Chain"..........a normal 9-5 job...........

I like the funeral march they do in the song, that definately reminds me of New Orleans, I hope it was intended so.

Early '40s England saw the birth of some great musicians. This guy in '41, Clapton and Burdon. Then J,P,G & R!
Essa música the house ofanimals of marca época
Super Geil :-)
this is actual music, unlike now a days electronic crap. they are musicians back in 1960's, nowadays they just know how to use electronics.
