WTH, it doesn't. What does the title say? It does not say "kid throws out runner at first to protect perfect game." Bruno is a stud, anyone can see that who has a damn clue about baseball, especially LLBB, but throwing a perfect game is not quite as hard when the ump is calling strikes that are a foot off the plate. I like the kid, wish he was on my team, but my god that strike zone helped him out, A LOT.

for 1 LL strike zones are bigger normally for 2 the camera is not straight to those outside pitches look more outside, a lot of batters were looking at pitches down the middle and complaining, yes a few pitches may be outside but understand he was throwing very fast from a short distance so even the ump probably had a hard time keeping up with all of them.

Hitting is a bit easier but the fields are bigger.while the pitching is a lot harder because the mounds farther back.

MorallyGray Really the only 100% objectionable call was the first one. Almost all of the rest were either correct or close enough. MLB umpires do tend to widen the strike zone around the knees (from my experience watching) so I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say he might have gotten it anyway with a decent ump.

Okay I’m seeing tons of people in the comments making brain dead remarks and not understanding the rules of Little League, yes the umpire was calling a big zone but Umps in LL will usually give you a few inches off the plate and the kid was painting the outside corners since he knew the umpire was calling it.. As for 0:30 I’m seeing tons of people saying it’s a balk, it is not.. In Little League you are allowed to quick pitch and there are no balks as there are no lead offs since 60 foot bases.. I’d also like to remind you that every other pitcher in the LLWS and the Regionals has the same rules and yet none of them threw a perfect game so everyone saying that they could throw a perfect game with these rules and distances do us all a favor and shut up.. To close it off, as someone who is 15 and who watches the LLWS and has played Little League this kid has the greatest mechanics I’ve ever seen any 12/13 year old have..

This video only shows well executed and well located pitches near the edges of the strike zone. That the pitcher was throwing so well only helps his case with the umpires, it never hurts it. The letters are a strike all day, every day, especially at this level. Quit whining and trying to cheapen this kid's impressive accomplishment in the age of terminator bats on softball fields.

You all don’t even realize the camera is not even directly centered. It’s off at an angle. So when you think he’s throwing super outside he’s not. This comment section is filled with kids who never played baseball or only did cuz there moms signed them up.
