I do that modification a long time ago it was in year 2000 and additional to what you have done i put ball bearing on the propeler both end and it gives me a smooth and silent gear no hizzing like the car of my fellow player.
In Speedtech, this trick also make the batteries lasts longer, where rules that no batteries will be replaced in between heats; and the motors runs cooler. I've done this on my carbon super FM chassis, where much extensive modifications are made than Super 2, AR and VS chassis. I also made the counter gear into 100% bearing! but I used 3.5:1 gear ratio and 8X5 mm and 5X2 mm bearings. last fun race in my local hobby shop, I run with 25.5 mm wheels, 3.5:1 gear and Power Dash motor (I could been used a Hyper Dash 3 but it's brushes are thin) against my opponents who used Ultra-Dash, and overtook in less than 2 laps! And they didn't believe at first that I used Power Dash motors, hehehehe. At first, I put in Sprint Dash and it ran very fast that my car flew off the track at the 2nd bend.
Mad Tang Hello, I've been watching your videos lately and i wonder, if you have free time, can you do a beginner tutorial for cutting the front bumper of the S2 chassis and how to make the front roller angle for the front bumper. BTW keep up the good work ! :)
this video really helps me have a better understanding about the parts that "stack" the transmission system. i see some guys modify the shaft ,using ao620, is that really nessisary?
i have a problem on mine. the motor pinion is hitting the propeller shaft and stops fast after i turn off power. should i just run it until the pinion wears off or is there a solution for that. im using super 2
Hi Mad Tang I have been viewing your videos to learn about Mini 4wd, wonder if you could help me with a few questions regarding this Floating gear system. 1. Does 520 and 620 ball bearing same size? 2. Does Mini round hole ball bearing and 620 same size? Can I substitute mini round hole ball bearing with the 620 for the wheel? 3. Is it necessary to get High speed counter gear as mentioned in your video? And what is the gear ratio for it?
Mad Tang what about Mini round hole ball bearing? is it same as 620? www.hlj.com/product/TAM15111/Aut this is the mini round hole ball bearing I found online..
the link you show me~~it is beginner level ball bearing~~ it is 620 dimension~ but nobody use it. because it is cheap design, wiggle, crooked and spin slow!! the AO 620 I mention in the video is this item www.hlj.com/product/TAM94389/Aut this is the professional and precision Level of ball bearing. all the professional racer use it~
regular un-modified counter gear will not work with 2mm hollow shaft, because the inner hole on the counter gear is 2mm diameter, which means too tight for counter gear.
can you show a video of a super x itself actual just wanted to be more exact coming from you ... man we appreciate that :) if its not to much .... and do you know how to tilt a frp front ?
Hi Mad Tang... I've been watching your videos lately, you have a good skill to build tamiya and i wonder, if you have free time, can you do a tutorial for build tamiya speed starting from scratch like a championship kanto in minami yokohama... Thanks for the concern
If you want to see what im talking about just contact me on my messenger (Rey Tiosejo) and i will send you the photo i know it will help a lot in your vlog because the problem will comes out after you used your modified VS chassis in several race and if this happened this is the answer i keep this as a secret for a long time and i know i was the only doing this modification that time rspecislly the very thin ball bearing that i put at my propeller both ends.
I'm a very old newbie, this video helps me modifying VS chassis, a lot. Thanks a bunch~
I learned waaay too many things by watching this video. Thanks!

Which trick did u do? The counter gear or the whole gear setup

Great video!!! I always wanted to know how to make ball bearing transmission for the mini 4wd.
I like the technique....
Hi Mad Tang, Great videos
Do you think you can make some videos on XX chassis?
this video really helps me have a better understanding about the parts that "stack" the transmission system. i see some guys modify the shaft ,using ao620, is that really nessisary?
This is pretty good Mad Tang..Really appreciate this video..Thanks..
No problem^^
Mad Tang Can you list the part numbers on the description box so it's easier for us to follow and buy the parts? Thanks and happy new year
best
You shouldn't remove material from there though. I only trimed the inner block of the gear shaft.
Mad Tang why dont you just use a spacer for this?
by the way thanks your videos are very helpful
hi great videos! im just getting into mini 4wd just got my kit today. Is there no other way than to buy 5 stock motors just to get the plastic spacer?
Hi Mad Tang, are you always using Super Speed Gear in all track condition (speed and technical tracks)? I saw it you were using it on your videos.
***** YES~~at least the most of time~~
i have a problem on mine. the motor pinion is hitting the propeller shaft and stops fast after i turn off power. should i just run it until the pinion wears off or is there a solution for that. im using super 2
could you do a video on how you made the frp set up for your vs chassis and awat is that shaft that you use for the back. thainks

what race event racers can use this floating gear?
are you selling one of those modified chassis i really want one but i don have time and the things needed to make one.
Btw, what kind of super glue are u using??? It have a good bottle design for the glue to come out.
ZAP pink label
Mad Tang where do you buy zap glues. and thanks for the videos

Mad Tang, quick question, does the High Speed Counter Gears work with the hollow shaft in an AR Chassis??
regular un-modified counter gear will not work with 2mm hollow shaft, because the inner hole on the counter gear is 2mm diameter, which means too tight for counter gear.
Ah ok thank you. Do you have any suggestions on which gears to use to make the AR Chassis faster without having to mod.
if more resistant transmission, get more motor power will cheaper.
Do you have one for superfm or carbon fm chassis?
What If i use it with floating speed gear? Does it do any good?
it's that okay when i using corona gear pink?
is this applicable with sfm chassis ?

hi can you make for a SUPER X AND SUPER XX HOW TO FULLY FLOAT THE GEARS KINDA LIKE THIS ONE SECONDLY IS THIS ALLOWED IN AN ALL TAMIYA OFFICIAL GAMES?
Basically same type of concept~ make sure the gap between the wall and gear is at correct distance~ less contact~
can you show a video of a super x itself actual just wanted to be more exact coming from you ... man we appreciate that :) if its not to much .... and do you know how to tilt a frp front ?
how about on AR chassis?
hi sir goodeve same for cfm sir floating gear?
