Update number 2, just an fyi. This product is great for small things HOWEVER I have found the required 2-3 coats in the instructions does cause bubbles. (though the company advertises no bubbles.) Further on this I have found that when you actually wash items you make, even if they are thoroughly dried the material breaks down and will fog on the item, become tacky to the touch and then peel off. I suggest if for those that plan to use this do not use it on items needing to be washed regularly. I was very disappointed but that's how we learn products through experimenting/ testing them out. I decided once all the sticky film is off I will just epoxy my metal mug like I did my first one.
Worked with Mod Podge with kids as a glue and sealer for projects but never thought, and never considered, that it would make a good sealer simply because of its stickiness even when dry. Never liked that quality but couldn't find anything non-toxic that would do a similar job. Excited to try Makers Magic and see if it will work on the projects I need sealed!!
Going to grab some of this, super impressed with the demo. Thanks so much!
Deal breaker for me is glossy finish
Bottle looks small compare with mod podge and price too
I was thinking the bottle looked smaller too but if you're not having to but one coat it will probably still last a while. Just my thoughts. I'll be getting some soon to try
@@wendysalley3924 You're right - it'll go a LOT further than mod podge. You have to use it and see what I mean. Really neat.
It also comes in matte.
Wow! I’m now excited to buy and try this stuff. Your so amazing at what you do! Thanks for the magic…
You're welcome!
Just an update: The first project I did came out fantastic (it was a small project) however the next larger project I did there were bubbles and brush streaking which is very puzzling. I am currently working on 3 projects testing out the Makers Magic. From what I am observing is that if I use 1 thin coat using slow strokes it looks great but it recommends 2-3 coats yet when I do the second coat I see the bubbles and streaking. I tried the torch to pop the bubbles but it did not and it dried the 'look' it had very quickly. I have 1 more project I am waiting for it to be totally cured (48 hours) and then do my next coat to see how that works. So for small items and areas it is easy to use but larger areas seem to bring out the bubbles and streaking. So overall I am seeing short small slow even strokes works great. I am looking for something for larger projects to move away from epoxy sooooo I'll keep looking. :-) Just sharing my experiences. Great video, thanks for sharing :-) (PS for the price mark it's high for not fulfilling its claims. It is not bubble free or streak free on medium or larger projects)
He stares in the video it only takes 1 coat yet you said it recommended 2-3 coats. I'd say that's a misleading important point. Thank you for your update.
Thank You! I am currently waiting on Amazon to deliver mine today....can't wait!!!
Hope you enjoy it!
I wonder if using a wider applicator (like a plastic CC card) would make the Mod Podge dry smoother, without streaks?
And would it allow Maker's Magic to also dry smoother?
The faster drying time is probably the winning thing for me.
I'm still a faithfully Mod Podge user.
Thanks for the introduction to Makers Magic. Another quick bubble eliminator is to gently “huff” your warm breath through a straw over the bubble. ❤
I've already got mine!! Excited to start using it!
I was disappointed with this product mostly because it is advertised as leaving no brush strokes. It clearly does. Even on the example in your video you can see the brush strokes on the glass. I used it to seal an image applied to a trinket tray, and while it seals the image great, the brush strokes on the rest of the ceramic were obvious. I am considering switching to a sponge and diluting the Makers Magic in a test application to see if that will eliminate brush strokes next time on another tray. I’m willing to keep experimenting with it but it costs a lot of money and I will be very unhappy with it if there is ultimately no difference in brush strokes with this product vs mod podge. FYI the material I used it on is ceramic resin (similar to jesmonite).
They gave me a bottle to try and I absolutely love it :) I seal things for my jumping spider enclosures, so it needs to be waterproof and cure fast, and makers magic ticks both of those boxes.
its the price for me...i keep putting it in my cart then taking it out...
Well worth it - let me tell you!
Got mine and I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED. streaks everywhere no matter what I do. Used 4 different brushes on 4 different things and all I got was a streaky mess
Sorry to hear that!
What type of brush? They don’t recommend foam brushes.
@@MakersGonnaLearn used 3 different paint brushes and a fluffy makeup brush .
I’m sad to say I had the same experience using a brush. I bought this specifically for the no brush strokes claim. I’d like to see the company put out a video using their product on all of the listed materials and how it has no brush strokes on each of those. It’s so expensive to not fulfill its primary claim. I’m sure there is a way to achieve a finish without the streaks; they should show how to do it.
Had no idea your friend invented it! Glad you did some research before you endorsed it! Just ordered a bottle! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
Any data on whether it will yellow over time?
I tried this on acrylic keychain (about 3 layers) on top Of water slide decal. After 2 days of cure time (as suggested by the company), the design could easily scratched off. Is there something I’m doing wrong with makers magic?
I doubt it. Pretty sure this product is a flop.
I'm already looking at the link you gave and I'm ordering one now. Thanks for sharing. I ordered their 3 pack :)
Yay!!!
I am excited to try Maker's Magic. I have been wanting to use it!
I have mine! I was thinking about trying it with ornaments too! I want to try tinting it and using in ornaments!
I saw this on amazon, tried it and love it. So nice to see you show it❤
Hope you like it!
@@MakersGonnaLearn Absolutely love it for small projects.
Thanks i was wondering if it was better thank you!!
Hi, i' m from Germany. Can i bought th gloss in Germany, too. I dont find IT by Amazon?😢
Thanks for the info
Of course!
So it is not flammable?
The makers magic kind of reminds me of mod podge dimensional magic!
Yes would love to try it.
i don't get it ! what is this ?
There’s a video here on RUclips that shows how the Makers Magic continues to bubble. So back to affordable Modge Podge it is.
Right? No surprise hes friends with the guy that makes Makers... He was practically blowing him the whole video!
Hahahaha 😅😂@@chrisnunya4015
This thing shocked me when I opened it. I mean like an electrical shock…I then went to read some reviews on Amazon and apparently it’s a thing. I really like the product but I’m scared to use it lol I will stick to my mod podge.
I read your post just hours before my bottle arrived. I wasn’t shocked, there were no fumes or scent rolling out.
Scientifically, we are all comprised of “energy” have you ever scuffed your feet across a rug then touched a person only to literally zap, shock them? The foil used to seal this container (like thousands of other liquids) compounded with how my energy was transferred through your body is likely the culprit to the shock/zap effect. Myself, I wouldn’t rule out a product itself due to what you experienced. “Peace Vibes”
My answer should read “how Your energy”
Yes I'm going to stay away from it because of this.
Yes may have to try thanks
Hope you enjoy!
Can you use makers make for decoupage napkins. Like the iron on method?
What would be used to tint Maker's Magic?
Is it dishwasher safe after?
Can you do a video soo see if make4s magic is dishwasher safe
Wow that's amazing
It looks like a nail polish or a resin to me.
Need to get some of that. Ty❤
Go for it!
Has anyone used this on polymer clay? I’m looking for a better alternative to resin on my jewelry
Yes please
They advertise using in ornaments
