So i guess Chroma is getting a mild rework to vex armor soon. Apparently you can charge it with kills soon! Not just from tanking damage anymore!

The concept of "Well this warframe had their day so they dont need attention" is such a baffling one, especially ironic given that the incarnon system does something similar for weapons. Havent used the Boltor since 2016? Surprise, now its a full auto shotgun! What a dumb take lol

3rd most used frame? Volt prime, frame from the literal release of the game, followed by excal in 4th, Mesa prime in 6th and, again Volt, in 7th, there is more "old" frames in the spotlight than there is newer ones, hell the only newer frame that tops players tierlists consistently is Citrine
Pablo is a strange beast. Like he's very good at what he does, but then just comes out with the most garbage takes imaginable.
That wasn't his reason. That was more of a sidebar to express the passage of time. The reason for not changing Loki, yet, is because no one can think of changes that both make him "better" while not turning him into a room clearing, weapon boosting, AoE God.
His whole point is as a utility frame. This puts him in a similar place to Vauban, but he can cheese stealth instead of ragdolls.

something like, aoe ability from which enemies get double dmg and health but entire squad gets some insanely strong buffs to compensate that buff of enemies
very highrolly type of frame, that would be unique, usable, aaand still in the spirit of him needing to be, well loki
you can also utilise fenrir or jormungadr (definitely butchered that) since those fit the theme as well. Also, the shapeshifting aspect could be utilised to some capacity
its not that no one can think of any changes, its just that they are lazy with that, and also theres no money in changing one of the oldest characters in the game
@@chaosgyro Triburos made a pretty good video about it. Its the problem of more and more enemies resisting, ignoring, or completely shutting down CC, so frames like Loki or Limbo whos pretty much ENTIRE identity is CC have gotten so much worse. Why would you use a CC/ Utility frame when you could just use a nuke frame that kills things so fast that theres no need for CC, especially when nullifiers, overguard, demolitionists, etc all just say "nuh uh" to said CC frames while damage frames just kill things regardless.

Not a good idea. Channeled abilities are detrimental to how he is played. You want to have 100% uptime on Vex Armor after you’ve maxed out its buff as much as possible. If you run out of energy and can’t refresh it, you’re screwed.
So, if you’re also using an ability that is constantly sucking up all your energy, you either will struggle to keep Vex Armor up or you will not have very long to actually use the channeled ability before you must cancel it.

i wish that someday, when he gets a full rework, there'll be a reason for him to switch his elements mid mission, or at least struggle to choose between the 4. maybe like Voruna he could be a frame who's great at spreading status effects, but instead of focusing on melee, he focuses on guns.

I’m still looking at Nyx and Banshee at the bottom of the used charts am I’m seriously not understanding how upping them isn’t a priority. The last “buff” Nyx got was being able to roll in her Augmented 4 and it’s still slow as molasses.
Reb is a Nyx main and when asked last year about Nyx getting tweaks her response was "Nyx is already very strong." No bias here.
@@SabuuchiI seriously just want them to up the target cap on her 2, maybe fire it in a cone in front, make it a permanent strip, anything. 6 target cap AND limited duration is absurd. I'm not sure quite where you'd start on her other stuff, but her 2 at least has VERY obvious fixes you could do to it to make it far less cumbersome.
@@KamuiOmega I've been playing Nyx lately and some improvements I could think of is making Mind Control either permanent or allow multiple targets, to emphasize that she's the de facto psychic frame. I've been playing around with a 'minion build' that focuses on Mind Control and Synoid Heliocor, and duration is a bother in both cases. Similarly Ballistica Prime's passive needs a longer duration to be any useful.
Agreed on Psychic Bolts. I replaced it with Fire Blast, which pretty much does the same thing with more targets. Psychic bolts needs a buff.
I'm not sure what to do with Absorb. Sure, it's good for survival, but the lack of mobility kinda goes against Warframe's current playstyle.
Can we have her 4 augment scale move speed with strength? Ivara can do it; why not Nyx?
Also, love when Psychic Bolts curve around the target directly in front of me, in favor of a Bucher that hasn't entered the room yet.
Storn for Warframe bback then but with content expectating more from the players were going to be pushed to either run meta frames everyone and their mothers run and used while lower tier frames continue to be used less and less. Limbo WAS a atrong frane, todays content typically having a limbo can hinder the squad. But I'd love to see a rework and many frames with the warframe 2024 mindset rather than a 2019 mindset @@Sabuuchi

you know what. make chroma's 1st work like a dnd dragon. Have it just be bonkers powerful, like, you WANT to use it every chance you get. It'll clear a room, but it's on a cooldown that only goes down faster as you use abilities.
At least maybe I'll use it now and again for the slightest spice of variety in his kit
Funny you say that. I've been personally pondering the expanded usage of Cooldowns in WF Kits. It's another one of those inconsistencies of DE design. They really use it intermittently. They really need to clearly define if we have ults or 4th abilities. If we have ults the level of spam people tend to do with certain ones is kind of ridiculous. Stynax spam immediately comes to mind. Power is fine but if the old press 4 to win meta, or just the general way most players try to do, taught us is that if you give the power you have to have appropriate limiters otherwise people will abuse it.
You and Trib bullying Pablo into giving Loki more tweaks was wild tho. Can we please do Ember after Chroma?

Ok the heyday post. I’m not asking for balls to the walls OP bs like some forums posters do. All I want is purpose & synergies. I don’t want muh god tier power fantasy where the frame is OP & completely tops the usage charts. I just want them to comfortably handle A niche. Just one. At least one. Certain frames just need some ability or abilities tweaked. Not all frames need reworks on the level of Hydroid. Grendel level of added values & synergies is fine. Chroma, Banshee, fuck Valkyr just need her stance updated and that would address 70% of her problems.
I think the problem is down to how the game is fundamentally designed. If we didn’t go the dps route for Loki he would still be unused because why would you play a frame with less efficiency at killing things even if the benefit is some fun crowd control shenanigans. Otherwise you’d see limbo mains running around freezing every enemy in place.
I think for now Loki does need to be untouched until the game starts to change how to approach hordes. Because rn damage + range is the meta and has been for a while
I do agree tho what you hope to expect. If his rework was just to make his kit more effective with mobility + cc I would be happy, but unfortunately players want the maximum amount of deeps a frame can dish out no matter their role

If this year Chroma won't get a rework I will personally go to DE's HQ and place down 300000 chroma statues until either he will get one, or I get arrested.
I loved my dragon boi pre plains of eidolon. Eidolon hunts felt so fun with chroma tho because you felt like a monster hunter dealing crap tons of damage to big bosses. However, DE proceeded to nerf chroma's vex armor for a stupid reason and its been downhill since then.
Ive got one simple trick to make chroma better, give him a massive ass dragon susano like thing as his exalted weapon instead of his current 4. How would it work? Idk
Maybe give him an exalted frame, similar to sevagoth. Spectral scream becomes an exalted weapon, still an ability at base, but a normal recharging ammo weapon in his new form. Then either give him a new kit in exalted form or make all of the abilities empowered while exalted (and bis one a bost to his scream since it would be hos "gun")

I feel like one simple change they could do to his 1 would be to just have it work similarly to the augmented 1s for Volt/Ember/etc. Add the equivalent of an elemental damage mod to your (maybe allies by default, maybe require an augment) weapon, or even better make it work like Toxic Lash as a separate damage tick that force-procs the relevant status. This way it is actually useful, can help give you some variation in your damage elements/modding, and you can potentially swap around for specific things, like putting Cold procs on a Demolyst/Eximus, or giving yourself the Heat buff for the damage but using the Cold or Electric Ward buff.
make it proc 10 status effects of chosen element every second, or every 5 or find the sweet numer for it, and make it scale with strength (more procs with more strenght). and not just to the first target but to the ones that it chains to
that way it would be gimmicky and fun, while having some potency
When I heard "Buff Chroma" at first, I was wondering if everyone decided to collectively eat glue and put their head in a microwave (especially as someone that mains Oberon).
But you did open my eyes Sabuuchi. I guess I was also stuck in 2015 even if I didn't play Warframe back then (and maybe also why I mostly play Oberon). Warframe evolves and there's a reason why older frames are getting reworks here and there, even if they aren't put in place to increase their power level.
But mr. Sabuuchi! Toxin ward deals 5% of an enemy's maximum health! Its scales with enemy, and thus can be taken to level cap alone!
His spectral scream does have one singular use: Toxin+Archon Continuity is an...okayish primer and corrosive spreader. Granted, you can only use melee when using it though, so I recommend either running with a Status weapon with healing return (or Sancti Magistar), change element to Frost for his Ward, giving him two Green shards for armor strip, and then just start punching dudes.
Is it a good overall strategy? Not really. Is it very niche? Indeed. But its how I personally play him and its the only way that makes me feel like I'm having a modicum of fun with him.
Personally though, if I were to make changes on him it would be 4 changes:
1. Allow use of normal weapons while Spectral Scream is active (and maybe an augment to let you add its element to your weapon). Either that, or allow the scream to benefit from equipped primary mods and arcanes (like a Primary Psuedo-Exalt), or just make it an Exalted Beam Weapon
2. Allow the casting and stacking of multiple Elemental Ward types (and make them refreshable like Titania's buff wheel), so that he can actually be the "master of elements" he was supposed to be before Lavos stole his lunch money.
3. Increase the status chance on Elemental Ward's auras, or at the very least increase the Strength scaling on the status chance. Making it feasible to spread Heat procs on the ward could open up lots of interesting build ideas and concepts. Out of all the suggested changes though I'd be fine with not getting this one if the other three go through.
4. Just rework his 4 so that either its an attack cast like Sevagoth, or instead of draining Energy it either creates or stores energy when it attacks someone in order to justify the reduction to your armor and health. OR do something else with it, because as it stands its my go to ability to subsume off of him, because having TWO worthless draining abilities is just a real kick in the balls.
Vex Armor, while being additive to Serration on most things, is still multiplicative (even at it's new humongous number) on melee *projectiles* like Exodia Contagion, Glaive throws and Glaive heavy explosions. If you're going to use Glaives, it's basically a twice-as-strong Mirage Eclipse that doesn't depend on light. In particular, with a Melee Influence Xoris, this results in... lets just say some funny numbers and a very high killrate. Please watch Moug's Chroma video from around 2 weeks ago.
eclipse is also multiplicative and double dips to contagion so mirage is better for that. for glaives, vex armor double dips but is additive to base damage so really it just adds and then gets squared for some really weird reason, which is slightly better than being multiplicative.
@@chrisboennad6187 interesting, so when a chroma is throwing the glaive, it's not that his vex armor is applied multiplicatively to base damage, it's that the glaives double dip on the vex armor multiplier, meaning it is essentially like being additive and then multiplicative too?

Yeah effigy isn't great but I have managed to make effigy into a status spreading aggro draw
Toxin effigy+archon continuity+ nourish... it can actually kill in sorties

Just a few ideas to give chroma some new life. If elemental ward was more like a nourish or xatas whisper but for heat, cold, electric and toxin. The effigy should follow the warframe and stun like it does but it uses all its elements for status spreading support. As for spectral scream I have no idea, maybe make it a psuedo exatled and increase its range dramatically so that high level trash mobs can be room cleared and make you feel like a Fatalis. I like the idea of vex armour scaling off of something else other than damage dealt to you, Maybe making it more thematic to dragons like credits collected in mission up to a specific amount, once youve gained the full buff you can recast at full strength but if youre downed youll have to rebuilt a percentage like half or a 1/4

I really hope that his 1 becomes a projectile instead of a breath so that you still can fire it from range as youre running Narrow minded.
I never understood why his 2 only locks you into one of the abilities. DE please let us hold the button to cast all of them at once. By themselves the buffs arent good enough but combine them and its actually decent
Chroma needs rework desperately, alongside Loki, Nyx , Banshee and Loki. They're all frames that haven't been touched in years and it shows.
All i need on chroma is replacing his 1st and 4th ability with completely new ones, the 4th ability credit bonus can be moved to his passive and the element switching can be put on the 2nd ability, and maybe changing the condition for the vex armor damage buff would be fine ig. All we need is Pablo working his magic and making a Hydroid level rework on Chroma. May Lord Pablo save us all

I think the changes on loki were long overdue, a buff for his decoy and a QOL patch for his 3 making him just better in this fast game.
I still wish for his conclave decoy to be his regular one, but oh well. Atleast we are getting something.
Otherwise, with some new things, like Precision Intensify, you actually can try a few fun things. Like just throw eclipse/roar on his 4, and he gets a 90% buff on it.
I got harrows 1 On it, so i can shieldgate and cc for headshots while i´m stealthed. like Super casual Disruption gameplay.
Or how about Styanax armor strip? All beautifull options i didn´t even fully explore yet.
Chroma is the same, while i think his 1 and 4 require a good overview, generally his function is still strong, especially with his coming augment.
The best part is that DE still remembers that he is there. Nah, not a small rework but a skin is what we got. Poor lizard..

weird, I've always used toxin as my chroma damage type for free armor strip with archon continuity, and to make certain weapons go nuts with the reload buff

NGL, I only ever noticed Toxin Ward for the reload speed buff and was very confused when you were talking about it giving damage.
and right not they announced a change to vex armor due for next week that will fix its issues... now ON TOP of its current function, the buff will be stacked by ranged kills for the damage buff and the armor bonus by melee an ability kills. That means FINALLY chroma will not need to take damage to stack up anymore, but can still do so in situations like boss fights where there is no lesser enemies to kill; its also a way for him to stack up when protected by allies. i just hope it will stack fast enough
I one think that spectral scream should be changed into some sort of ability that will spread the chosen element and it stays there for some time lingering, but also it could mix with other elements. Like Gauss' thermal sunder but you can run around while spreading it making the whole place burning with like idk viral or corrosive.
Go heat, throw on power donation, and then grab the xoris with volatile quick return. Add nourish for more energy and more damage. Do a heavy glaive attack. :3

I don't play endgame content. I tried using Chroma the other day (bc I found out I don't even have any Chroma augments) and wow does it not feel good. At the very least I would like the 1 to be spammable. And make the 4 more like a specter not a turret. Make it follow Chroma around like Wuclone, maybe drain energy while active. Or maybe attach it to his back like Mirage's 4 augment.
I have no specific opinions on the synergy and stats and stuff. I also don't know if this is the popular opinion lol just a personal observation
I hope Chroma is in the rework line. Looking forward to the Inaros stuff

I've heard even putting on elemental ward (his subsume) onto other frame is useless lol so me farming that one ember part just made me loose bile instead of gain a useful subsume lol

Naked Chroma looks fantastic. If only Effigy was his first ability and he got something better as his 4th, being able to command his Effigy to either follow you or stay as a turret would be neat and the energy drain needs to be lowered or just make it act like Wukong's clone by only casting it once and be done with it. Also, perhaps it would just be better to combine Elemental Ward and Vex Armor, so that Chroma can get an entirely new ability.

Not only is Effigy only used for Profit Taker, but to GET to that point, you need to get Max Rank with Solaris United. So MAX RANKING a Syndicate before even using a shit ability for profit is like a shit cherry on a shit sundae that's 7 years old and smells like irrelevancy.
Inaros is in pretty much the same place of having garbage abilities and I've only been using him as a weapon buffing platform exclusively. At least Inaros is getting a much needed rework but really it's just more of the same but with extra CC abilities. Maybe something similar can happen with Chroma but I'm not exactly holding my breath.

Top three warframes that need a touch-up plus one. Chroma, frost, caliban. Atlas is the one I can let slide but I want more ways to collect rocks instead of casting three or four again and again. Even a few powers can be changed so Atlas can pick up his rock wall and use it like a riot shield with able to bash dudes aswell.
