      You still need a car and insurance to sign up for DoorDash and Uber Eats though so that's still a hurdle

    I do Uber eats and doordash in the Bronx and Manhattan I see those whizz bikes all the time and another company called JOCO

      Between the two companies mentioned, Whizz bikes is the best bet when renting a delivery bike. Trust me, I've used JoCo Bike and it's only serviced in Manhattan

      personally, as a suggestion, to use JoCo as a last resort for rental

    this is based only on NYC so please mention that to viewers it looks like you haven't rented these bikes which is weird to review on without test riding them

    Speaking as a regular biker, and on top of that a bikesharing bike person, and those bikes are not light, nimble, flexible, or fast, I still think I am faster, deliver more and make more money from doordash than someone in a vehicle. I don't have gas, I don't have car maintenance, I don't have to find parking, I weave in and out of traffic, responsibly, and especially since I use a bike service, I don't even have bike maintenance. In saying this, I am limited to where I can bike, as I can't go out of the zones where the docking stations are too spread out as I have to return the bike within a 45 minute window, generally I aim for 30 minutes, but asides from the one time yearly membership of $100, and the times that I am late returning a bike, anywhere between $.50 for a couple minutes to $5 for like 10-15 minutes late, but that's A) a business expense, and B) learning the timing of it myself so it really doesn't happen that often, most of my money, which is a pretty clear $20/hour if done properly, (sometimes I'm online when I'm not really ready to go), my only real expense is food, and taxes.

    If I could afford that I'd get a car payment

      yeah i only pay 175$ for a 3rd gen prius.
      i did buy a e-bike flat out though ($1,399 + another $200ish in front/back cargo racks, (not the brand mentioned in the video)..
      Lucky for me I live in a city with bike lanes and trails that keep me mostly off the roads.. but I can see how this would be a nightmare in 99% of US cities.

    I did rent one bike and it wasn’t a good experience. The range is just not enough. I am still in their what’s app group chat. And the complaints don’t stop. I got a flat tired one day in. They wanted me to drive to their shop to fix it. When I was soo far…

    Can u take the standard mileage deduction on Schedule C for an ebike? Cars, vans, SUV's, trucks..... What about motorcycles, mopeds & e-bikes?

    • @YourDriverMike
      @YourDriverMike  11 месяцев назад +1

      That's really a question for your CPA or tax professional but to my understanding no you can not use these miles for the standard mileage deduction.

      Miles no, but yes on the weekly rental fee if you rent any type of vehicle: e-bike, car, etc.

    • @FreespeechDeliveryBoy

      You can probably pull off using mileage deduction as well if you have a third party app like solo or similar
